Slow service but the food makes up for it. My group of 5 were seated in the large wooden table in the back. I didn't like that table. Sure it looks pretty and unique but it was awkward to sit in some places as there was no straight edge. Anyway, the food, delicious. I would order everything all over again. A must is to add the $3 black truffle to the $18 beef short rib noodle soup. You'll thank me later. Presentation, beautiful. Would I come back? Definitely! This is a place I see myself bringing friends and family to.

My friend wanted to visit for lunch as she said that she saw their crab lo mein blowing up on IG. She made reservations & we visited on Sunday for lunch. We ordered the crab lo mein, Peking duck pot stickers, XLB, pork & truffle dumplings, tea smoked duck & cauliflower. The crab lo mein was presented in an entertaining way, over a stand with chopsticks that appeared to be floating & the crab meat sauce is added tableside. It was delicious & full of flavor & I would order it again. The Peking duck pot stickers also had a lot of flavor & wasn't dry & XLB were perfect, great flavor & juicy (you're given big soup spoons to drink up the XLB & the XLB skin was not too thick) & the pork & truffle dumplings were very tad too. I was honestly pretty full but we still had the cauliflower (I had a few bites & it was good) & the tea smoked duck which was tender & had rich flavor. We ordered a pot of Jasmine tea (cuts grease & helps digestion) & the teapot is huge (worth the $6 price). We also shared a bottle of peach sochu ($12) which was pretty good & not too sweet. It's a cute little restaurant, helpful service that doesn't rush you out to turn the tables over, which is appreciated as many Chinese restaurants do that.I would suggest making reservations but they take walk-ins.

Service was decent. They hand you a big laminate menu and you mark down what you want to order. Spicy Pork Soup Dumpling 5/5Their soup dumplings were so fat and juicy and the spicy one had that mala flavor which was very good and different from the typical flavorsKung Pao Chicken Bao 3/5This was something new that we wanted to try. It was just ok. Filling wise it was pretty big but that was about itChong Qing Numbing Noodles 1/5This was the most disappointing dish that we ordered. It was very lacking in flavor and just had the numbing spice feel but nothing else. I don't know if we got a bad batch of this one but it really was not good. Did not finish it as I didn't want to waste calories on eating something so tastelessPan Fried Pork Soup Bao 4/5The only reason why it did not get 5 stars was that it took sooooooooo long to come out. We had basically finished our meal (minus the noodles) and were waiting probably close to 15 mins before it came out. Granted, it was probably because it was the first batch of the day, but the wait took forever. Flavor-wise it was good, fat, and juicy. Didn't care too much for the presentation

I saw this spot on Instagram and immediately found a reason to visit Chinatown, specifically to try the Crab Lo Mein. I made a reservation via Open Table, but it wasn't necessary for a Wednesday night. The restaurant was filled, but still had some tables available and was quickly seated. We started with the SHANGHAI BEANCURD LEAF ROLL, was flavorful and held together well. The CUCUMBER SALAD was savory, garlicky, and crunchy, with a hint of acidity. This paired exceptionally well with the Crab Lo Mein. The CRAB LO MEIN was poured with crab sauce tableside. The sauce was beautifully creamy, with a balanced flavor of crab head butter. Although we thought the noodles were slightly overcooked, the dish was still delicious. I accidentally discovered that mixing some cucumber salad juice into the Crab Lo Mein elevated the dish even further. The CRAB PORK SHRIMP GIANT XLB arrived hot, and I mean extremely hot! After waiting three minutes, I attempted to sip the broth and still burned my tongue. The soup was very flavorful, with sweet crab and ginger notes. I was impressed by the thinness of the skin. However, the dumpling was mostly filled with soup and not much filling, aside from a small meat paste and three tiny shrimps. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I plan to return with a larger group to try more items (ie party of 3 or 6), as some dishes come in orders of three. I would definitely order the Crab Lo Mein and cucumber salad again, but skip the Crab Pork XL Xiao Long Bao.

Cute interior - clean. Definitely gets busy. Recommend a reservation for a bigger group. We went on a Monday and there are only 2 servers and I think the owner who helps out the floor when it gets busy. They definitely cook to order but that also means food can come out slowly. Food- tldr nothing memorable but tea duck was excellent value. Crab noodles were also great value. Dumplings are not worth it given there are so many other options in SF. Peking Duck Potsticker- these were actually really good ! They recreated all the flavors of Peking duck wrapped up in a nice dumpling. Only 3 for 9$ though but these are worth it. 5/5Wagyu truffle dumplings- good meat flavor but no truffle flavor. 3 pieces 15$ - not worth the price IMO. And probably wouldn't recommend. Try other dumplings based off other Yelp reviews. 2/5Pork xiao Long bao - decent flavor, good amount of soup, the thickness of the dumpling skin varied from dumpling to dumpling. None fell apart though which was nice. 4/5Pan fried pork soup dumplings - cute presentation. Inside flavor is sweeter than other pan fried dumplings I've had in the city. The bottom also wasn't that crispy. Had a decent amount of juice. 3/5 Tea smoked duck - didn't really taste much tea flavor but the smoked flavor was good. Some parts were a little over cooked but overall really good value and taste. 4/5 Crab lo mein - I think they forgot to put the plate in the red container because it looked like we got skimped on noodles but looking at other reviews there should have been a white plate inside. I hope they clean the red containers well.... Anyways the noodles themselves are good and they give a good amount. The sauce has really strong umami component. Not necessarily strong crab though. My partner really liked this dish. I'm glad we tried it but it's not my favorite. 3.5/5

Seeing this spot on social media, we decided to see if it measured up to the hype. Is it as good as people are saying? OUR PICKS:CUCUMBER SALAD ~ Like most cucumber salad, it had vinegar and sesame oil, so it was flavorful and tart. Pretty much like other restaurants. 3/5"SPIDER" PAN-FRIED BAO (FILLED WITH BEEF, CHEESE AND CORN) ~ I was expecting the cheese to sling out but it didn't. Maybe we waited too long and the cheese hardened up? This wasn't so special either. Flavor was lacking. 3/5CRAB PORK & SHRIMP GIANT XLB ~ So we were told that it was hot so be careful while drinking the soup. I ate my salad first to have it cool off a bit. They provide a straw for this dish. It was still pretty hot but not enough to burn my tongue. Soup wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. After I drank the soup, I bit into the XLB and only got skin. At the very bottom, I found the filling was 3-4 small cocktail shrimp and a pinky finger-sized pork filling! For $9, I only got soup and skin! I didn't taste any crab. I can only assume there was crab meat in the pork. What a disappointment! 1/5CRAB MEAT LOMEIN ~ This dish was shown on social media with chopsticks suspended and holding the noodles while the waitstaff poured the sauce. The noodle texture was soft without any chew and the sauce was rich and heavy. And like the other dishes, it wasn't as tasty as I would have liked. And I'm used to bland food, yet I felt it lacked spices and umami flavor. 3/5Well....imho, it was underwhelming. It was all looks and nothing else more. Sure, you can take a photo since the food is IG worthy but I didn't think anything we ate was spectacular. Decor was cool and it seemed like an intimate spot for a date night or to hang out with a few friends, but the food was meh. We ordered 4 items and each was average at best. With all the hype and advertising about this place, I was expecting so much more! Sadly, once was enough.

4.5 starsFusion Dumpling is a modern, kitschy Chinatown eatery sporting a diverse menu of Chinese eats, including dumplings, noodles, and spicy Sichuan dishes. We started with the Vegetable Baos--soft, fluffy, steamed buns with a filling of chopped greens; pork soup dumplings (XLB), a soupy minced pork filling wrapped by a soft dumpling skin; and a giant crab, pork, and shrimp XLB (which came with a straw for drinking the soup). We got pan-fried baos with pork soup filling and a fusion "spider" pan-fried bao, filled with beef, cheese, and corn. This bao was almost like a cheeseburger (though with more cheese than ground beef) and a unique, creative dish, though I probably wouldn't order it again. One special dish for Chinese New Year was the Lucky Pocket, which were four "moneybags" made from soft, juicy tofu stuffed with shrimp. The moneybags were drizzled with a sticky sweet and sour sauce and lined on a plate with steamed broccoli. But the most photogenic dish of all was the Crab Meat Lomein, a bowl of soft noodles with seaweed, on which our server poured a savory crab meat sauce right at our table. The luscious, seafoody sauce went nicely with the slippery seaweed and soft noodles, which were held up by a floating pair of chopsticks! Of course, this was just a visual illusion, but it showcased the creativity that set this restaurant apart. My favorite dish of all was the Dan Dan Noodles, mixed with a delicious spicy peanut sauce and topped with ground meat and scallions! For our entrees, the Ma Po Tofu was a spicy dish combining fermented bean sauce and soft tofu in a flaming pot; the Chinese cauliflower was woked with dried red chilies and Sichuan peppercorns; the Crispy Garlic Fish Fillet were battered pieces of fish tossed with garlic and chilies; and the String Beans were deep-fried and sautéed with onions and dried red chilies. Overall, the food here was decent, the presentation was creative, and the service was quick and efficient, though the menu prices weren't cheap for the portions.

Newish place for dumplings and fusion dishes in Chinatown. They have very inventive dishes with a lot of truffle fusions. The beef noodles we have with truffle was really good I can't get enough of the flavors.Service is excellent as we were attentively helped with everything even when they were busy. The place filled up quickly for lunch on a weekend.Their presentation is fun too like the crab noodle was suspended in the air with chopsticks and the sauce poured on table side. The dumplings were on a Multi level shelf.I'm planning to come back here to try other dishes soon!

I was really excited to try this place. However, I was a bit disappointed. We ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings, the spicy fish in chili oil, and the sesame chicken. The main reason I went here was to try the spicy fish and chili oil dish however I feel like there wasn't that many fish pieces and also I didn't like how the skin was on the fish. It was a very underwhelming dish. Also, the dumplings and the sesame chicken were very average. Overall nothing was amazing to me. Perhaps I would go back and try other things, but it's definitely not a place that I am thinking about going again anytime soon.
