I don't know if this was a merely coincidence or not, but I've had the best kimchi ever!It was fresh but not too young, it was ripe but not too old. It was perfect in texture and taste. Crunchy, delicious garlicky kimchi yum!The best kimchi I've had in SF so far.The place is small and not much to offer if you compare to the other Korean markets, but I will only get my kimchi from here from now on.Don't worry Woori Market, I still love you.

Stopped in quick for some kimchi. They only had radish by the time we got there which was a bit of a bummer, but still bought it. A little too sweet for the liking. Also picked up some jelly pouches and a green tea - well priced for those. Had a small chuckle at the Costco napkins and paper towels being sold individually. Some prices are a bit high while some are well priced and even some are steal. Cashier was very kind to us.Wish they had soju on hand!

Em Deli is my go to place for Korean snacks and kimchi. The owners and all the cashiers I have came across so far have all been extremely kind and welcoming. They have a wide variety of snacks, drinks and food. I always purchase the kimchi they make since it goes so well with so many homemade dishes and even alone as a side. Besides this I love purchasing rice cakes to make my own Tteokbokki and the ice cream here. They have a unique variety of ice cream that I can only seem to find at EM Deli. The only complaint I have is that a couple of times I came here some of their items were not restocked, so I wasn't able to get the items I wanted. But this could be do to them remodeling soon which is totally understandable. Sad that it'll be closed for remodeling but also definitely very excited. Would highly recommend checking this store out if you love Korean snacks or food.

I spotted EM Deli when visiting Borobudur Restaurant next door. I was excited as there would be no reason to make trips to Daly City for my Korean fix if this turned out to be the real deal. I came back a couple of days later and got a couple of items from the heated shelf to the left when you enter. I got the squid with rice ($6.99) and the japchae noodles ($3.99) paid using credit card (I think) and was a happy camper.Well at least till I got home. The japchae noodles felt like a couple of days old but were eatable. The squid on the other hand felt like it was weeks old. The rice was so hard that it would take a hammer to even make a dent. There has to be some law that the socialist country of California can enact to prevent people from selling such crap. My dreams of avoiding a trek to Kukje Market lie shattered.

I picked up this kimchi fried rice on the way home only to find out it was just rice, kimchi and an egg. Not a single piece of meat.

Best Korean deli / groceries store in the Lower Nob Hill/ Union Squad Neighborhood! Not only they got all sort of different type of classic Korean Ready to eat kimchi but also a great selection on different Korean chips and desert snacks. On of my favorite item is the marinated spicy pork belly is easy to cook and super yummy! Great customer service as well.... If you like Korean snack food you should stop by for sure if you are in the neighborhood!

This is a great spot in the Lower Nob Hill/Tenderloin/Union Square area for all of your Korean/Asian needs. They have a wonderful selection of banchan, korean packaged goods (think ramen and other instant foods), and refrigerated items. I frequent this spot for rice cakes to make my own spicy rice cake at home.

Their spicy seasoned cucumber is so good. We visited this place last night while waiting for burgers from Pearl's nearby. The owner was thankful the business and the spicy seasoned pickled cucumber was delicious. My first time to business but will have to go back for more Korean panchan

Went up to Post Street from Union Square area for the sole (no pun intended!) purpose of getting some radish kimchi, but they only had one little container of cabbage kimchi left (it was Sunday), plus the huge jars of cabbage kimchi. I got the kimchi, squid salad and seaweed salad, plus a bowl of cooked white rice and chopsticks for $17, a bit expensive, but worth it! The fresh bul gogi comes in on Tuesdays for anyone interested. The store sells no soju, bummer!
