El Farolito

Wow wow wow! Talk about cheap and delicious food in san francisco - this place is the perfect spot for good tacos, burritos with amazing amounts of meat. Their burritos are hugeeeee! The speed with which they make food is insane and such smooth service. Other restaurants better take notes.It's very popular so you might have to find your seat or wait for some time. Ambience is definitely not of a Michelin star but who wants that anyway, when you can have such good food without burning a hole in your pocket.

I had higher hopes for this place. I've seen the reels and locals boosting this place and I was excited to finally try the famous mission spot.I had a shrimp and steak burrito. The burrito had a good about of both meats, but the salsas were such a let down. Green and red were both not spicy! Wtf. I didn't know the only options I had mild or more mild. Everyone knows no burrito is complete without good spicy salsa. I can't tell if this place got gentrified or what but please make the salsas more spicy!! Very casual place with a bathroom in the middle before you reach the outdoor patio. This place seems to be the spot after a night out because the line to order never let up.

Came here as the fourth stop on a self guided Mission taqueria crawl. Of all six spots we went to for our tour, this was by far the best value for size and price. We ordered 3 tacos, the Al pastor, Carne Asada, and cabeza, and it came out to around $14 after tax. Not that $14 is ground breaking for street tacos, but these tacos were huge and piled high with protein, so well worth the money spent. We didn't get a plate to try, but we saw lots of people eating those and they were also pretty massive. While the tacos were good, they weren't my favorite ones of the day. I recently tired cabeza for the first time and loved it, but this one was miss for me, my boyfriend even said it tasted a little off. The Al pastor and Carne Asada were better, with the al pastor being my favorite of the 3. This spot is right next to a big intersection and bus stop so it was a little chaotic trying to enter, and then super crowded inside too, but they have a decent sized patio in the back which was much more peaceful. They are cash only, though they do have an atm if you forgot/don't carry that cash money on you.

Stopped by the Mission District to pick up burritos from Taqueria El Farolito! The entrance itself is easy to miss, but it's located right next to the El Farolito Bar along Mission St.They were pretty busy when we arrived, but service was quick and we got our food within 15-20 min. This is a cash only place so just need to keep that in mind before coming here! There is some indoor seating with tables and chairs, but we just got our orders to go. We didn't find out until later that they don't provide napkins with to-go orders, so next time would ask for those or just bring our own.Super Burrito with Al Pastor ($9.99, 4/5)- Super filling! Lasted me two meals. Ton of ingredients inside, pretty standard combination with rice, bean salsa, sour cream cheese, avocado, and meat.- Great deal for its price- Sauces and salsa paired well with the burritoWould come back again if I'm ever in the area!

The service is pretty good and the line moves quick. Speaking Spanish helps for some of the employees. The super burrito and super quesadilla are great. Carne asada, al pastor, and lengua are solid picks. I also like the cebollitas (green onion side)The outdoor seating is nice, with a fence and roof, closed off from outside and protected from rain. The place literally like 10 feet away from the BART elevator exit. We were lucky to find street parking pretty nearby, like 2 blocks away

The workers here work very fast to meet the demand of this place. Cost is very affordable. Casual sit down taco place. Seating in the store and in the back. Ordered 4 tacos - lengua, al pastor, 2 carne asada. Lengua was a little bland but the others were very flavorful and tender. Cash only, there's an ATM in the store. Lines can go outside the store. Will definitely go back again for their amazing food and prices.

There is usually a line but it moves fast.Super Burrito never disappoints, good asada, green sauce for me and Strawberry Fresca, good price too.

Humongous portions for such great value. Cash only! The Lengua is so good here, I would definitely opt for this if you are willing to try it! THe lines can get long and the area is a little sketchy at night, but it's worth it for the food.

We came to El Farolito after a concert in San Francisco because it's been on our list to try for a while. The tacos were $4.50 each which is crazy expensive BUT I will say they do pack it with meat so they are really large tacos. The meat was pretty greasy and relatively flavorless which we were really surprised about given how busy it was. The carnitas were the best bite of the night and if we were to come back this would be the protein we would pick. Street parking was pretty hard to find and on a Thursday night all the tables were packed because the restaurant isn't that large. The vibes are definitely crowded, and maybe not the cleanliness. Since I'm from So Cal I'm used to the taco game being super strong and compared to what I'm used to having El Farolito is on the pricey side and offers very mid-tier tacos. If we were to come back we would probably try the burritos since they looked like a great value and were huge, but given that we thought the flavor of the meat was lacking we aren't sure if we would come back again to try.

This is a cash only establishment so make sure to bring some! There is also an ATM inside, however.Excellent breakfast burrito at a reasonable price and very well made. I had leftovers for sure! It was a little crazy on the outside and we actually thought we may have gone to the wrong place but were pleasantly surprised with the quality despite the outside image. We sat in the back area which was open and nice.
