Awesome execution. The signature Boiled Fresh Fish in Green Pepper Sauce was beyond our expectation. The homemade broth was slightly tangy, thick, spicy, had deep flavor and was extraordinary and memorable. The owner mentioned that her husband prepared the broth. Fish was tender (we did not order the live version).Eggplant with string bean in Lao Gan Ma sauce was the best eggplant dishes i've tasted. The eggplant was beautifully sauteed to a delightful crisp (almost tasted like meat) and quite addictive.Crispy spring roll was good with the accompanied plum sauce. Service was prompt and friendly.

Right off the bat, the service is impressive here, especially for a Chinese restaurant. Their menu is extensive with beautiful pictures to help you decide. The price point is a little high and I wondered if it's because they're not getting too many customers and they're just trying to stay in business. The restaurant is quite roomy and decorated with an authentic flare. We were greeted by friendly faces who very warm in all of their interactions. Here's how everything ranked:$22.95 Salted egg prawns $21.95 Spicy fried fish$21.95 Garlic pea sprouts$13.95 Beef scallion pancake rollsI think these are pretty standard Chongqing province dishes. Our The salted prawns were definitely flavorful with umami goodness -- you can really taste a good amount of quality salted egg, the prawns were huge without too much batter and the dish was a good size. I also enjoyed the little corn crunchies.Second best was the fried fish. Their standard level is not very spicy even though it comes with a ton of red peppers so if you like it hot, then don't hesitate to let them know. I appreciate that they don't heavily batter their fish. Our dishes arrived surprisingly quickly, almost too quickly and I felt the dishes could've been hotter so I'm not sure if they were already premade and just kept on a warmer or what. All in all the meal was satisfying and Earl Spicy would probably hit the mark for a lot of people.

Earl Spicy has been in the old Yi Yuan location for 5 years, the interior decor is same and serves Szechuan cuisine. Met up with some old friends for lunch the day after Thanksgiving. After conversation with the owner found out this will be their last week. They sold the restaurant due to health issues. We ordered a table full of food of which most were good. They said the new owners are going to keep some of the most popular items. Only three tables at lunch.

Came in on Friday night and it was just us in the restaurant. Their Tsingtao beer goes for 9?! Server was really nice albeit his 2nd day on the job.Gizzards taste like the Chinese cold meat served at restaurants but with a good kick. 2.5/5Ginger scallion chicken: looks nothing like the picture. Completely difference sauce but nonetheless was surprised that it still tasted delicious. 3.5/5Dan Dan noodles: delicious with that numbing Szechuan. Needs more meat but the noodles were perfects 4/5Not bad of a restaurant if you want to try something new and support the locals!

Food was great. They're known for their spicy grilled fish and it did not disappoint. I'm not a big fan of mala but this fish was so well-cooked the mala flavor really didn't bother me and in fact I quite enjoyed the taste with the savoriness of the fish. Unfortunately my spice tolerance is not that high so I could not eat a lot without my mouth dying but I still enjoyed it (and I think they allow you to adjust the spiciness so you can get it less spicy). But I really liked their salted egg and shrimp dish. Very flavorful. Also I liked their griddle cooked cabbage. It was very savory. Their cumin lamb tasted great, but I wish it had more lamb pieces. There were a lot of onion pieces (which I still liked and were very flavorful).Service was good as well. They only had 2 people working on the day we came (Sunday evening), yet the food came out in a timely manner. And they got me a spoon when I requested one, which I appreciate. The restaurant interior is nicely decorated with traditional Chinese pieces on the walls, which makes you feel like you are back in a royal Chinese courtyard. We parked in a small lot nearby. There is also street parking as well.

Came here at an odd hour with a group of 6 and the people who run the place were nice enough to seat and serve us while the restaurant was basically resting (we can at 3:00pm).We ordered 5 entrees, 2 veggies, salted egg yolk shrimp, cumin lamb and the signature fish. Everything was super tasty and came out super fast despite just the owner and her husband working! Would definitely order the cabbage, lamb and fish again, and would want to try other stuff next time. Overall really recommend this place for an authentic Chinese food group experience!

We ordered the spicy grilled fish, griddle-cooked lotus root, and Jiangxi stir-fried rice noodle. The fish came in three sizes (small, medium, and large), and we wanted to order the small since we were only two people, but they only had the large available. The lotus was only slightly spicy and the noodles were not spicy at all, which made for a good contrast with the fish. We were able to finish the other two dishes and brought half the fish home. There were only a few other diners there, and at the end we had a very nice chat with the owner.

Very tasty food, and the service was great! The owner seated us and served us, and she is very sweet. We tried the green beans, which were super delicious - had a bit of the numbing spices, but it was subtle and we enjoyed it. The cumin lamb with onion pancakes was a great dish overall. Lamb was super flavorful and well-cooked, perfectly tender. The food overall was a little bit oilier than my taste, but it was what we expected for a hearty, delicious meal. Loved it!
