This is definitely a great place to visit with a group of friends, as it lends itself to family-style dining. My friends and I ordered a variety of dishes, including pan-fried dumplings, soup dumplings, spicy wontons, hot and sour soup, and cucumber salad. The menu has a wide range of options, from salty to savory. If you decide to come here, be prepared to wait, as there's usually a line. However, the food is absolutely worth it. The service can be a bit slow due to the full house, but honestly, the delicious food more than makes up for it.

Such a good dumpling spot for XLB and sheng jian bao! Went on a Sunday night and it was packed but luckily we had a reservation for lunar new year. Friendly and fast service. We had a group of 12 people and dishes still came out at a good pace and quite quickly. The soup dumplings had a really good wrapper layer and good amount of soup inside. It was made really well and did not fall apart easily. My favorite dish was the sheng jian bao (pan fried pork dumplings) which were crispy but still had soup inside! These were also a good size. Other dishes I tried included the pork dumplings, wontons in chili oil, chicken with wasabi, sweet and sour chicken, string beans, and hot and sour soup. Everything we tried was a good portion size, well made, and reasonable for the price. Will definitely be back!

I'm trying to find dim sum places in SF that have good vegetarian options and this is one of them! They have tons of options for vegetarians which is great, so you can enjoy a variety of food. When I went I tried the vegetarian chow mein, green onion pancakes, green beans, and vegetarian pot stickers. I thought the chow mein and green beans were my favorite part of the meal. I also really enjoyed the green tea that comes with the meal! Service is nice and fast, but I did come on a Friday night and had to wait for a table so be wary they can get busy! Overall great place in the sunset!

I get it, I legit get the hype!Due to it being lunchtime I immediately hopped on Yelp and did a search for "dumplings" & "chow mein". Dumpling Kitchen immediately pops up and the amazing reviews absolutely caught my attention. First and foremost, parking was tough. We ended up parking about 2 blocks away. I gave up the idea of finding something close after circulating a few times- keep in mind that our visit was on a weekday and I wouldn't even want to imagine car traffic on a weekend. Our party of 3 arrived to DK with plenty of seating available but no one to greet or direct. While I could have found myself a seat/table, I decided to wait around for staff. The menu was easy to navigate with everything broken down into 8 different sections. Lunch consisted of:-SHANGHAI STYLE STEAMED PORK DUMPLINGS [XLB]-PAN FRIED PORK POTSTICKERS -DRY BRAISED STRING BEANS-SHANGHAI STYLE CHOW MEIN W/ PORKThe food came out in a timely manner and the flow was just about one item after another, continuously. One of the most popular items according to staff & diners are 100% the Shanghai style XLB. This was a must try but soupy dumplings just aren't my thing. The potstickers were amazing- great outter crunch and juicy filling. The string beans were flavored well and the greens were fresh. The chow mein was overly filled with cabbage fillers but the noodles itself were great. The pork slices were surprisingly tender. 4 stars overall. I wouldn't hesitate to stop by and enjoy myself some more Dumpling Kitchen. Just be sure to come with some comfy shoes in case you are stuck doing a good amount of walking.

My friend was craving dim sum and we just so happened to walk by this place. We ordered steamed pork buns, hot and sour soup and har gao. The soup came out pretty quickly, but the steamed pork buns and har gar took a really long time to come. We had finished the big bowl of soup and we were waiting quite a bit for the rest of our food. We noticed another table got their food even though we ordered before them. When we finally asked about the food, our dish was suddenly "just ready". I didn't try their steamed pork bun, but their har gao tasted pretty standard, nothing to write home about. There is street parking only and I would say it's easy to find free residential parking nearby.

Ordered a bunch of food for delivery and enjoyed most of the items. Really missed all the Asian restaurants in SF. Boiled pork, shrimp and celery dumplings. Very flavorful and juicy, they are quite big. Pea sprouts w garlic - simple preparation and a classicsalt and pepper chicken - I wanted wings but didn't understand the options on ubereats so ordered the boneless version instead which I didn't like very much.

CASH is preferred bc you get a little discount. We came late afternoon & were promptly seated for a party of 2 on a Friday. Service was efficient & I like the spacious seating. Since it was almost 3pm & towards their closing time, they were courteous enough to do one more call out for orders if we wanted more. Orders:Shanghai Steamed Pork Dumpling (10pcs. For $14.80)-Soupy dumplings packed with flavor is a very satisfying dish.Shanghai Style Pan Fried Pork Buns (6pcs For $13.80) Didn't have a crispy crunchy texture but looked a little flat so the "Wow" factor wasn't as impressive, but flavor wise it was consistent with the flavoring of the steamed dumpling.Pork Preserved Vegetable Stir Rice Cake ($15.90)- chewy pieces of rice cake that almost steamed under cooked & the pickled vegetable was a bit too salty for me, so I don't know if I would re-order. If you are craving dumplings give Dumpling Kitchen a try.

Shanghai soup dumplings (XLB) : 4.8/5. The dumplings were delicious; each filled with soft pork and juicy, creamy soup. I only reserve it from 5/5 because I felt the skin could have been a bit thinner and less dry.Pan fried soup dumplings: 5/5. These dough was perfectly fried on the outside, which contrasted well with the soupy interior.Green onion pancake: 4.7/5. These were shanghai style, which are solid fried discs of dough. This had a very crisp that contrasted well with the soft, pillowy interior. Just wish there was a stronger green onion flavor. Solid pancakes!Overall: This is a solid place for some homey dishes such as soup dumplings and other traditional chinese dishes. Service is relatively fast but parking can be a bit tricky.

Service was great, and dumplings were tasty. I like how they let us have a menu with us to keep looking over their options while waiting for our soup dumplings. We went with the soup dumplings. Ten of them per order. Definitely will come back for some more.
