Where do you go for fresh local produce and groceries? Dean's! Don't forget to join their loyalty program, free to join. It is fresh. The produce lasts longer in the fridge too. It didn't just degrade right away after being purchased. Oh, and they have lots of unique packaged food imported, specializing in those of Mediterranean origin. I got quite a bit of Italian essentials from Dean's. Here, I can also get baked goods from bakeries such as Cinderella's without having to go way over to the city and having to find parking in the dreaded inner Richmond.

This produce market fails to mark the correct price on the shelf & then scans a different ( higher) price at the register. No manager on duty during the busy rush & after speaking with him on the phone while I waited at the store, He refused to make an adjustment to the price,Was marked $19.69 on the shelf & scanned it in at $23.69 in their favor. No consideration just bad customer service whatsoever. Hardball attitude telling me "take it or leave it" Outragious! Checkers are very friendly thoughhard to understand. Just Bad management Not the same service you'd receive at Molly Stones or Piazzas for sure! Beware of this place. Shop elsewhere

Very friendly and great produce. Don't buy the Focaccia bread by Cuneo Bakery. It's very good but went to eat it the day after buying it and it had mold.

Always a delightful experience. Great Greek and Middle Eastern delights and yes, the music adds a great touch. And, they always have the best tomatoes, even in winter. Service is also fabulous. Yes I do love this store

Dean's is hardly my regular grocer for shopping, but every once in a while it's fun to switch it up and see what another ethnic shop might have in store! It was fun going through Dean's frozen section which featured many Eastern European favorites and then heading over to the jarred and canned section to find a vast assortment of pickled vegetables and canned fish. There was a sale on some sardines today, from Portugal no less so I picked up a can for lunch and paired it with some crusty bread and cheese. It brought me right back to Spain (yes, I know it's not Portugal but it's close). It was delicious and was about half the price I'd pay from any other American grocer! Know your prices friends! I also spotted a small bar of halva which I'm curious to try later. I really liked that I didn't have to commit to a large square of it.I also picked up the ingredients I had planned to use for meal prep this week. It was a little more expensive than my Asian shops but not too much so. The quality of almost everything looked really good today and there were also staff sorting through the produce and removing the ones past their prime.

I miss living in the area and going to Dean's Produce for fresh and reasonably-priced produce. They have a great selection of produce but also have some items that you typically do not find in big box grocery stores. I love to be able to support local businesses whenever I can. Dean's is located in a pretty busy part of town and sometimes, you can't find parking in front or even within a block or so. Usually, that's when I give up and come back some other time. As there are a lot of restaurants on this street, we used to always shop here after grabbing a meal at one of the local spots. It's so convenient to be able to do this. Not only do they have produce, but they have other groceries for purchase. This is the first place that I was able to buy Kinder chocolates as well as Milka chocolates. LOL. It's definitely a cool store to browse and explore. You might find an item that you never thought you needed. Yay for local businesses!

I have been shopping here for several years and the prices and quality of produce is the best in the area. It is a specialty grocery store and you will also find many items from other countries that you won't find at other stores. The staff is very friendly and the check out is quick and easy. Keep up the good work!

Update:I changed my star from one to two. I upgraded it for the Hispanic employees. They deserved to be recognized. All the Hispanic employees working with inventory or produce are super nice. Though they speak limited English or not at all, they are willing to help. They are also hardworking.

I go once a week to stock up on fresh produce. I go early to find parking. Cashiers are fast and efficient. Always restocking. They recently upgraded their registers so easy to see what is being rung up. Thank you for long operating hours

I bought almonds a couple of days ago. They were still green, not fully ripened. The kernel inside did not form. I decided to return my purchase and asked to talk to the manager. When he came up to me I tried to explain to him the problem. He became defensive and angry with me. He raised his voice. He said that they had sold tons of this product and no one has returned. I would never ever try to return any staff to the store any more. It is better to lose a few dollars than to listen to the rudeness of the manager. People would not usually bring bad produce back, so not be scolded for damaging them with improper storage or people just simply don't want to go back or they might not save the receipt.
