I got the Mission Style Hot Chocolate and the Chai both of which were rich and complex in flavor. I was impressed! Preference for the chai (haha I burned my tongue on the hot chocolate)Would recommend even if it's a bit pricy. A great little treat. Indoor and outdoor seating but not enough if it's busy. I appreciate that they don't kick people out

If you are looking for high-quality chocolate, Dandelion is worth a visit! Visited on a Sunday 20 minutes before closing. There were still a decent amount of people and seating is limited. I ordered the small European Hot Chocolate, and my friends ordered the Mission Hot Chocolate, the Cacao Fruit Smoothie, and carrot cake. The hot chocolates came with a small, dime-sized cookie. The store has a variety of chocolates for sale.European Hot Chocolate (4/5): Rich and decadent. As it is basically just melted chocolate. it is very thick and takes some time to drink so I recommend getting the small size. I thought this would be sweet, but it is slightly on the bitter side.Mission Hot Chocolate (4/5): My friend liked her drink. It was not that sweet and it had some spices that gave it a kick. Cacao Fruit Smoothie (4.5/5): I have never heard of the cacao fruit being used in smoothies and it was surprisingly very refreshing! Similar to mangosteen fruit. It is not very sweet. Perfect for a summer day!Carrot cake (2/5): This looked great but the flavors felt unbalanced for us. It was a little salty and we could not taste the carrot. While the chocolate quality was great, most of the items leaned toward the bitter side, which may not be for everyone. I would recommend Dandelion to those who enjoy rich, less-sweet chocolate flavors.

Dandelion's Chocolate Bar subscription is incredible for anyone who loves and respects the art of making chocolate. Online, I ordered the 6-bar subscription (12 ounces of 70% chocolate), with three different types of single-origin chocolate for $60, which includes delivery. It is amazing to taste chocolate in such a simple way. The ingredients are minimal, just cocoa and sugar. The selection is curated for each delivery by Dandelion - I can absolutely taste the differences between each of the origins. The subscription package comes with a tasting guide. The packaging is simple, yet elegant. Ordering from Dandelion is simple with amazing customer service and my order arrived in a very timely manner. I am very happy with Dandelion and highly recommend it as an amazing gift for yourself or someone you love.

The hot chocolates were both awesome. The Mission was nicely spicy, and European was super rich and thick. I was disappointed with the Canelés, since they were basically just little chocolate cakes *shaped* like Canelés. The outside was slightly crispy, but not at all caramelized. The inside did not have the rich and bubbled texture of a Canelé. Oh well. Good Canelés are hard to find outside of Bourdeaux. The Sesame Noir Caramel Brownie was nice, but oddly not as chocolately as expected for a brownie. They have a wall of free chocolate samples, of which we tried many. They were all very good, mostly 70% dark, with different origins for the beans. Don't miss that if you go there.Definitely recommend this place to stop in for a hot chocolate and a nice place to sit to relax.

This was my 7th or 8th time visit Dandelion Chocolate! The European Drinking Chocolate is amazing. That drink is the main reason I keep coming back! I love that this location is open late and it is never too crowded. There is a good amount of seating and a variety of free chocolate samples. Food:European Drinking Chocolate (5/5): the perfect thick and dark drinking chocolate. I highly recommend if you like dark chocolate. It's the perfect consistency and not too sweet. House Hot Chocolate (4/5): A solid hot chocolate but I personally enjoy a sweeter classic hot chocolate. Mission Hot Chocolate (4/5): I enjoyed this hot chocolate, but I wish there was a little more spice. Compared to other Mexican hot chocolates this one is a little milkier and milder. Chocolate Chip Cookie (3.5/5): A large, standard chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chunks were the best part. The actual cookie was a bit dry and there was no option to have it warmed up. S'more (2/5): The S'more looked so promising but it was not very good. Chef's Tasting (4/5): Various miniature pastry items to sample. There was a nice variety of flavours included in the tasting. I highly recommend to anyone who is visiting for the first time!

The line here can be very long but it's well worth it. I've bought chocolate here before but you have to be patient with the line. There are samples for you to try - and the description for each chocolate is spot on!They have a great menu of hot and cold drinks and pastries. It's a SF institution! Come on by if you're in the area. There's a smaller location at the Ferry building!

Last summer I joined my nephew and family for a special chocolate movie event at this chic chocolate factory! The building is quite something to walk up to. The menu is unlike anywhere. And both the staff and space create such an inviting experience! We arrived on a Friday night for a chocolate factory tour followed by several chocolate tastings and popcorn to enjoy while watching Frozen in a cozy but larger den like room. We could tell each tasting was thoughtfully planned out and definitely was delish! We enjoyed several different types of chocolates in various sizes, hot cocoa, and even amazing homemade marshmallows. What a treat with my family this was!

Calling all fine chocolate lovers!San Francisco has a long history of creative chocolate factories from the iconic & historic Ghirardelli Chocolate Company to too many to mention. However, Dandelion Chocolate is a confectionery force to be reckoned with in the Bay Area.My wife and have been to The Mission store on Valencia Street since we are often having our senior rescue dogs care at Mission Pet Hospital a few doors done. So a few weeks ago on chilly December afternoon we were waiting for our canine testing we decided to visit our favorite chocolate factory! We did not have a "Golden Ticket" but we definitely felt like winners are we took in the majestic sugar palace! It was packed as usual and we order specialty coffee and a Mexican hot chocolate. You might get over whelmed by the various varieties of chocolates but pace yourself and enjoy the journey.Don't forget they have a local factory which we enjoyed a very educational tour a few years ago. It was wonderful! Highly recommended.

I wasn't sure if it was more appropriate to put this review on Dandelion's page or on Håkan Chocolatier's page (they now have a shop in Beacon, NY) but went for Dandelion since the box of Hakan chocolates I was given as a holiday gift was actually bought from Dandelion and was a collaboration between the two chocolate shops.Arctic lingonberry bonbon: I could taste the sweetness and tartness of the berry, which was nice. You may have heard of lingonberry from IKEA goods.Blackberry bjornbar: I couldn't really taste the blackberry, unfortunately. Still good for a sweet tooth though.Sea buckthorn truffle: I really liked this one, it's more unique, tastes like a bunch of spices and/or herbs.Raspberry rosemary liquid caramel: Sweet, liquidy gooey center, I would've liked an even stronger rosemary flavor or for them to have made a more 'savory' chocolate though.Blueberry cinnamon liquid caramel: I like the cinnamon, but I was sad that I had trouble tasting the blueberry over it. Similar to the other liquid caramel flavor, the inside was like jam, so I learned to be more careful with biting into it so that I wouldn't spill or end up with sticky fingers.Overall, these were great chocolates, and more luxurious than something I would usually have purchased, so I am grateful I had the opportunity to eat these. I'd love to try more chocolates from Dandelion sometime, and to see if they have more limited-edition collaborations with other businesses as well.
