Côte Ouest Bistro is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic French cuisine. The food was absolutely amazing, starting with the French onion soup--rich, flavorful, and a must-order. The mussels and fries were another standout, with a perfectly seasoned broth that made every bite irresistible. The chicken sandwich was delicious, and the aïoli sauce served with the fries was simply unbelievable. For dessert, we indulged in both the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake, adding a side of vanilla ice cream, which turned out to be the perfect pairing. Every dish was executed beautifully, making for a truly satisfying meal. The service is very French--efficient but not overly chatty--so it helps to know what you want to order in advance. If you're looking for top-notch French bistro fare, Côte Ouest Bistro delivers in every way. Highly recommend! Classic European experience. If you're a rush to get in and out, don't come.

No SF mandate, no surcharges, no B.S. Straight to the point delicious food at great prices. We had a reservation for brunch and were glad we made one as it is a popular spot. I went in wanting the Eggs Provencale but it was not available unfortunately... We shared deviled eggs, croissant french toast, and the mushroom omelet. The deviled eggs were slightly different than usual as the hard boiled part of the egg was left in but still had a cream/mustard sauce piped on top and A LOT of it. This dish also included homemade chips. I was worried that the croissant french toast would be overly sweet or rich but it was perfectly balanced and delicious. The mushroom omelet was great and extremely filling as well since it brough a ton of potatoes. Definitely will be returning for dinner!

Are they closed? Walked by today and there was paper covering all the windows? Very sad if they have closed permanently!UPDATE: They are not closed, just were remodeling over the holidays. Still 5 stars!

Came here for Valentines dinner and it was lovely! It is a small neighborhood place with a lit and heated terrace that holds most of the seating. We weren't expecting a prix fixe menu, but decided to go ahead with it since we already had the reservation. The food was yummy, specifically the appetizers, and the service was thoughtful. They brought each couple a rose with the check which was a celebratory addition. I'd like to come back and try the normal menu!

Cute location, with outdoor seating, and great neighborhood. Mimosas - well we're poured Food was good, nice plating and photographed well but nothing that wowed us in terms of flavor. Staff was friendly but it does get busy on weekends.

Its smart navy awning and inviting parklet welcome you on a late summer evening, a greeting from the owner who was complimentary I babbled a bit en français about where we'd like to sit.It was a chilly evening so inside we went into the pared down, handsome cream and navy front dining room. We sat in the window at a 2-top and watched the pretty night sky.The menu is focused, classic bistro favorites and a bit more. Start with the Dungeness crab salad, big enough to share, with big pieces of claw meat tossed lightly in a chimichurri sauce with little gem lettuce, blood oranges, feta, croutons and a thinly sliced whole avocado ($24). The "School Night" prix fixe menu ($40) was sweet and well-priced. It's a 2-course meal so naturally he picked the dessert option after a fall-apart tender lamb shank over couscous with lots of Moroccan-influenced ingredients. I had the steak frites ($34, 8 oz Bavette cut), side of aioli for dipping my fries and a rich, well-seasoned, glossy green peppercorn sauce for just a touch on a perfectly rare slice of steak. I handed over quite a few frites and slices of steak yet still left sated.I had two tastes of my son's tarte tatin, my late father's favorite dessert (he once made himself the unofficial taster every place we dined when I lived in Paris). If you love apple pie, this is the pinnacle and Côte Ouest executes it superbly.Service was unhurried, helping you relax after a day. Crowd was a mix of hipster, older couples on a date, a group of girlfriends having dinner out, a tech bruh treating himself to dinner. Comfortable, well-priced, welcoming, we'll definitely return. À bientôt!

I stopped by Cote Ouest Bistro with a couple of friends for brunch and had a lovely time. I tried their Moules Marinieres Frites which is apparently one of their signature dishes; it was fantastic - delicious with generous portions. The bread in particular was delightful, especially when dipped in the white wine broth. Service was polite and efficient. We sat outside so didn't get a real sense of the indoor ambiance, but the overall feel of the place was casual and cozy. Look forward to trying their other dishes sometime!

First try at this Bistro and we love it! We arrived late for lunch on Friday 2:20pm, 10 minutes before they close: from sit down to pay bill an hour + later, host & waiters never rushed us at all. They were delightful & warm & sweet! Merci beaucoup! The food is tres bien & delicious, the service is excellent, the ambiance is warm/comfy/inviting!1. Escargot: the best I ever had in SF, soft warm puffy pastry on the top is a bonus. 2. Burger & Frites: fresh, tasty, crispy, huge portion.3. Crab sandwich: juicy & full of flavor with super generous portion. The next table was already making NYE reservation, and I wish I could as well without other plan already.I can't wait till next visit for dinner! Btw, it's closed for renovation in new year/next 2 weeks, will open Jan 15th.

Late Post from October 2024 - Charming restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining options. Haven't been here in quite a while and was craving Moules Frites. The fries were excellent, tasty, clean and crisp! The bread was just as amazing and so fresh and crusty! Just say YUM! :0) Unfortunately the Moules had large white sand grains in most of them so I had to be very careful each time I ate a mussel. I had been craving it for so long, I didn't want to mention it to my server and just suffered thru each one. I've had this entree several times in the past and have never had this experience so I was very surprised. Hesitant to try it again, will probably just get Steak Frites the next visit. Great "School Night" prix fixe dinner Tues, Weds and Thurs. I still want to try this! Difficult to find parking in this area, plan ahead for the extra scouting time. LOVE this small, cozy business and can't wait to return so I can post a better review.

"Service" was Parisian. Sitting 3 people at a table for 1 is nonsense. Skip the mushroom omelette. Super boring and dripping in oil or butter. The croque madame was good although the bread was all crust.
