There's nothing more exciting than hearing a raging bar fight when you're trying to go to the bathroom in peace! Yeah. I said it, and I experienced it. That's all I got.

What's that saying? Don't judge a book by its cover. My friends and I were leaving El Rio and got invited to Clooney's by a stranger. I had no idea what was to come. So many great memories with my friends. This is where we all end up on Saturday nights. Yes, it's a dive bar. Yes, the drinks are strong and the bartender is the best. Yes, it's the unique mix of what our city represents. Everyone is welcome. Monty is one of the best bartenders in San Francisco. I have had some epic nights here and you will too. Great jukebox, fun pool table and meeting diverse people that I would not otherwise.

Went to Clooney's pun for St Patrick's day and had a pretty good time. The vibes were nice and the drinks were reasonably priced.However, when I arrived, it took me almost 20 minutes to actually order my drink. This wasn't because of a huge crowd, but because the two bartenders were ignoring me when I tried to get their attention. I was then told by another patron that the baristas were changing shifts, which is why they were ignoring me (because they weren't taking orders). I would have appreciated hearing that directly from the bartenders instead of someone else. I was then approached by one of the bartenders after she had left the bar, and she apologized to me, which I really appreciated. It was frustrating though watching them ignore me and yet serving other regulars.It was a pleasant neighborhood bar, but I'm not sure if I'll come back unless I'm trying to go around to multiple neighborhood bars. There are better dive bars in the area that are a little more welcoming towards newcomers.Another warning to ladies, but some of the regulars can also get a little touchy (touching your waist as they try to get around you), which is uncomfortable. I've heard this from other women who had gone to the bar once or twice.

My go to Saturday night hang out. Mostly to chat with Monty the bartender. Always smiling and upbeat, even when the crowd can be a wee bit hard to deal with at times from his perspective. (Some folks just don't know how to behave correctly). The thing is, you can't miss the fact that he bartends, provides security, keeps the environment friendly and safe, and is the janitorial staff as needed.The pool table is always a nice way to get social with others.

stumbled on this place and was excited to try somewhere new but unfortunately I would not recommend. It felt like if you were an outsider you were not welcome and on top of that the bartenders were not the kindest. Drinks were ok

The reason I keep coming back to Clooney's is because of Monty, the bartender on Saturday evenings. He is the best! Some snacks, good music, mood lighting, good conversation--all to be had here at one of the few, true local dive bars left here in the city. Also love the horseshoe-shaped bar!

Absolutely love this lil gem. Saw it on my way to my car after dinner and decided to went in for one drink. So glad I did. One drink turned into two if I didn't have to drive it probably would've turned into five Loved the whole vibe of this bar and the music. The bartender was my fave. He was so sweet and friendly and his drinks are the best. It was strong and surprisingly cheap. Had a good time and I will definitely be back. Thank you!

Clooney's is a classic San Francisco dive bar, a dive bar that is rapidly disappearing from our fair city, being replaced by overpriced theme bars. They have a great beer selection and TVs with games on and a decent jukebox. I recommend going on Saturdays, when Monty is tending the stick. He is quick and attentive yet always friendly. The crowd can look rough, as dive-bar crowds generally look, but the Clooney crowd is mellow. Young white folks might be disturbed by the diversity, but pay them no heed: they'll find solace in the Marina.
