This is a picture of the menu saying the soup is vegan. Which clearly isn't since it has ham. This is the third time it has happened to me.
Taco Monday! Chicken AND beef! :-)

Barbeque pork bun, egg rolls, pot stickers, and Chinese broccoli. All covered with sweet chili sauce.
This was a DELICIOUS breakfast. Sausage links, eggs with Cheese, tater tots, cinnamon twists, and baguette french toast.

Today, I'm going to my local college to try out the food from their cafeteria and give an honest review. On Yelp, City Eats has an impressive 2 star rating. My standards for food are very low and I can pretty much eat anything so let's put these reviews to the test...I wanted to see if the cups were foggy and cracked so I got the pineapple juice. It didn't leak or taste like it was from a can so that's a star. The pork loin lacked seasoning, which is good because I've been trying to lose weight and it wasn't dry like the Sahara Desert but closer to the Gobi Desert so that's a star.I was so excited when I saw the worker scoop a very thick white sauce into my pasta. It was very creamy and hot, just like how i like it so that's a star. There's a new soft serve machine so I waited in line for 10 minutes. As I walked back to my table, my soft serve started to melt. I like my soft serve extra soft so that's a star.I took some food home in these special food wraps and gave it to my dog. He loves turkey. 5 Stars!

Really bad service. Had a student group visit this dining commons and the staff was rude and disrespectful. Won't be coming back.

The photo speaks for itself. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star, but -100 stars. Don't even bother getting a meal plan here. They're basically starving you to death. Money literally down the drain :/

A good variety of options. One meal swipe = all you can eat. They have consistent items & a menu that changes. Hamburger, garden burger/turkey burger, soup, pasta, and salad bar are always there for lunch and dinner. They updated their pasta bar as of 2023 & it's not too bad. They have marinara, pesto, and Alfredo sauce to choose from, and some toppings you can add, like tomatoes, bacon, cheese, etc. Breakfast is yummy. They have cereal all hours. Usually something with egg, potatoes, and sausage. They also have a parfait bar and different breakfast breads to choose from that are actually yummy and moist (i like the swirl bread and lemon poppy the best) They always have vegan options-tofu is usually the substitute. All day rice. The servers are usually nice or indifferent. The environment is okay, typically pretty lively. There hours aren't that convenient. I wish they were open later, and lunch was different hours.

In the past 6 months this establishment has increased the quality of their food a lot. For each meal on the weekdays, there are usually 5-6 entrees that come from diverse and exotic cuisine with countless toppings and condiments. A combination of both can make any meal worth finishing. Upon one entry, any customer can eat as much food as they want. Drinks and water are served in abundance. Desserts and a personal yogurt machine are available with every meal. There are also take out options for those who don't wish to eat in the cafeteria.City Eats encourages feedback from patrons and they have responded. If this place has scared you off, we recommend that you give it another try. Note: This review only applies to academic regular session at SFSU, summer or winter terms may have different quality levels and foods.Authors Recommendation:-power bites-creamy tomato basil soup-orange chicken and jasmine rice

I got the steak and broccoli it was the best food I've had and San Fran. All these reviews are fake and from competitor restaurants. Even if there was food left on the plates its a plus more for less money. There were some cracks in the cups but its very sanitary so you can just lick it off the table. Overall 10/10 would recommend.

If you live in towers you are forced to pay for the meal plan. Every weekend they barely have anything. It's saturday today and every single station was closed and the only available food was chicken and rice.... absolutely not acceptable when i'm being FORCED to pay $500 a month. the weekends are included in the days i'm paying for so why do you slack so hard and make no effort to do your jobs on the weekend? almost everytime i eat here i'm more and more disappointed.

City Eats is the main dining center for San Francisco State University. Their menu is pretty consistent and almost always has vegan/vegetarian options. They post allergen warnings on almost everything to let you know whats in there. Their food is not bad and sometimes their food is awesome -- some of my favorites have been the kimchi fried rice omelette, shrimp fried rice, the ramen/pho, paella, pupusas and more. They try to incorporate some cultural dishes but I feel as though many diners are picky and particular with what their eating. The City Eats diners could respect staff a bit more too, but there definitely isn't enough space to leave your bags or places to sit when its busy.

It's not the best and with meal plan being $500 a month it makes me wish I went to community college. If I spent $500 a month on groceries for myself I would be eating 5 star meals. Not the meals they give you here. It's the same thing every week.
