With how expensive Korean food seems to be in the SF area, it is refreshing to find a bang for buck KFC restaurant at Westlake. Chick & Jajang has cozy seating and a simple menu, but their dishes feel well prepared and worth for the price. For $17, the Fried Rice Korean version does not skimp out at all. Lots of eggs used and enough rice for 3-4 people. Their chicken sizes are also quite large with plenty of flavor, unlike many other popular chains. Would definitely visit again

I came here on a Sunday evening. They were fully packed and decided to just do take out.I ordered the 16pcs original flavored fried chicken. And also the combo jjang noodles. For the spicy soup you can choose your spice level. I chose spicy but it was not spicy enough for me. But it was delicious and flavorful even tho the spiciness was not there. The noodle came with 3 clams. Squid and lots of onion slices. For the jjang main it's a thick sauce with thick slices of onion and pork. For the combo noodle they put the soup in one container and they have a separated which has the jjang main sauce. The noodles was separated. But I would say that the noodles was not enough for the soup and jjang sauce. Wish they offered more noodles. Or at least enough for the soup and sauce.Overall I rate the food a 8/10. The chicken remained crunchy and Crispy after a 15-20min drive home.

My friends and I ate here on a breezy Monday evening at around 7:30PM. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated. The restaurant is quite tiny, but I like the simplicity of the interior. Props to their lively Enhypen playlist in the background. Shout out to the staff who is very likely an Engene (Enhypen stan). The staff provides a decent amount of banchan (Korean side dishes). We shared a large order of chicken, which can be split into two flavors. We opted for the plain fried chicken and Honey & Cheese chicken. Our orders were ready within 15 minutes. Both flavors were crunchy, but the Honey & Cheese Chicken stood out in terms of its texture, the powdered cheese and the sweet honey sauce. I had to pair it with a bowl of rice because I can't eat chicken by itself. Don't expect too much on service: simply and kindly flag down the waiter/waitress on duty if you need anything from them. Also note that every dish here is meant to be shared and not eaten individually. Otherwise, you'll be taking it to go. Please don't come here alone. Bring your friends, family, loved ones and whoever you vibe with at Chick & Jajang!

My friend and I got here a little bit before 2pm and it's a pretty small location so most of the seats were full but we got immediately seated, I wouldn't say it was incredibly busy but it is very popular! Food came out really fast and was absolutely delicious. We came here to try their jajangmyeon and soy garlic fried chicken. Their soy garlic chicken's breading made the skin so crispy and juicy, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Personally I think their jajangmyeon has dethroned Paik's Noodles for me. It's a little bit more expensive but I think the sauce tastes a lot better than Paik's because Paik's noodles are lighter/blander in flavor. Chick & Jajang also includes bigger more generous pieces of meat in their black bean noodles than Paik's.

I was in the area and thought I should try this place on a weekday around 1 pm. When walking in, a few tables were taken, and some people were waiting for to-go orders. I was greeted right away and had a table all to myself. The place is small, not made for big parties, but great for lunch with a few friends. I ordered jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) along with spicy fried chicken. The noodles were tasty, and I loved it. The fried chickenThe juicy, spicy sauce on top was good. I got medium spicy, which did not taste spicy. I will get the spicier ones next time.

It was easy to order at the kiosk for take out orders! It was pretty quiet here on a weekday lunch of course. I ordered the honey and cheese fried chicken and gosh, it's so crunchy and delicious!! It also comes with pickled radish.

-Lots of parking, easy also! Can get busy on the weekend due to the variety of shops in the area - Large portions- got the jajang and it could easily feed two. - Also got the chicken wings, small comes with 8 and LARGE sized wings. Soy and garlic was delicious, the sauce is thick btw. - went on a Sunday around 1:30pm, no line was seated right away. - food was ready and served in less than 10 minutes!

I recently tried the fried chicken at this restaurant. It was okay--nothing spectacular, just average. The chicken had a nice crunch and a hint of juiciness, but overall, it left little impression. I might return to explore other dishes on the menu, since the fried chicken itself didn't stand out as anything memorable.

===TL;DR===- Noodles and sauces are all handmade - Rose spicy rice cake - Honey and cheese fried chicken - Jajangmyeon- Jjambbong ===TMI===What a random place to open a jajangmyeon place but I ain't mad about it cause you have all the parking spots in the world. Tiny space but good food! Phatties here wanting to try everything on their menu. Love love loved their rose spicy rice cake with cheese! Just the right about of kick and chewiness. Standard fried chicken but they were huge. Jajangmyeon was cool, good noodle texture. Last but not least, loved the soup from a classic Jjambbong. All great meals anytime of the day! One downfall.. Didn't enjoy the smell of chlorine while eating but that can also be timing.
