Huge big fat one star. There was a miscommunication with the bamboo asia menu our Account Executive sent to me. I was given the sushi bowl bar menu last Friday 7/19 and thought that was what we were going to get for Tuesday 7/23 lunch and I find out that same morning, we are getting a Vietnamese bowl. The food was disappointing, the green beans and broccoli was overcooked and super wilted, did not look appetizing and they gave us was way too much rice noodles. Sorry but I'm not going to use Chewse in the future.

They are ridiculously aggressive in their marketing tactics. I get a jargon-filled email every few days that tries to bait me into a conversation with their sales reps. My role isn't even remotely related to catering, not sure what I did to deserve this. No way to unsubscribe, and I've asked them to remove me from the list to no avail. It seems like they're doing the same thing to many others in my company. I'm assuming this is indicative of their broader service - low quality, overly aggressive, and not responsive to customer feedback.

I used Chewse to cater our meetings as DoorDash and Caviar were super unreliable. During my initial call I was really impressed with how the ordering, delivery and set-up were supposed to work. Supposed to being the key words here... We went over likes and dislikes, dietary restrictions and portions nothing new or out of the norm.My main complaint here is there was little to no consistency. Our first order was initially sent to the wrong address and I luckily caught it in time and we had our food here. The food was great but there were no plates, forks or napkins - even though we paid an extra dollar per person. Subsequent orders were either WAY too much food and a couple of times we ran out. As our time with Chewse progressed, customer care started slacking, deliveries were significantly late and it was honestly a crap-shoot if we were going to receive plates, napkins and cutlery (even though we paid for them). When I voiced my complaints I was told someone would call me back - and no one ever did. I was told we would receive a discount/credit every time I complained that we were missing items we paid for and never came across them. I think there are better companies here in the city to work with on scheduled catering, but hope that Chewse can improve.

The Chewse team is TOP notch. We've had two different account executives (Blake and Megan) and they have both been exceptional. Chewse has a great selection of restaurants and we've never had a bad meal. There have been times when I've contacted Chewse the day before, for a last minute order and they've not only been accommodating but also extremely pleasant. We have a bunch of dietary restrictions and even when I forget to highlight them, our reps always ask! My only qualm is that I wish our company was big enough so that I could use Chewse MORE. Keep doing a great job, Chewse Team! You all are appreciated.

Chewse states in their deck "We make it right when we get it wrong: We're accountable for our errors and provide transparency into your company's service" This is not the case. When I was first introduced to Chewse in September, my account manager Aston was very friendly and helpful. I was able to schedule a meal. Through the Chewse portal, I was able to view the menu and approve the order with a click of the button. The food arrived, was very good, and we were very happy with the experience. Aston left Chewse, and I was transferred to Crystal in the interim. Then our new account manager was Kenny. He was very helpful as well, but then he left Chewse. Our new account manager was Ricardo and we never received a response from him. After Ricardo, Amy took over our account. Already that is 5 account managers in 2 months.I discussed with Amy a possible hosted lunch for my company, and asked for a menu option. She stated the menu is in the portal to view. I looked at the portal, and didn't like the menu but there wasn't a button to reject or approve, as it was the first time we ordered a meal. I admit, I was busy and I didn't follow up with Amy to cancel the meal, however, I also never confirmed. The meal showed up on the day that I had mentioned, and I turned it away. I never confirmed the meal, just asked for options. Amy said I was still obligated to pay for the meal, as it states in the policies and as they mentioned in the dashboard training. However, I never received a copy of the policy or received dashboard training. I understand my part in the miscommunication, and I wanted to negotiate with them. Amy looped in the Head of Customer Experience Kelly and offered 50% off the meal. I jump on the phone to discuss the matter with Amy and Kelly and try to find a better solution, that I was willing to reserve our next meal, and pay more than normally budgeted to offset the cost to them. Kelly said there is nothing else she can do, because she needs to explain to her Finance team why there is this cost to them. I then ask how I was able to accept/reject the meal in the portal for the first meal, but it didn't show up for the second meal. Kelly states that the process changes once you sign the Statement of Work (which I was never told). I asked if I could speak to someone else, because honestly I felt like Kelly was making excuses for the lack of communication from her team, and possibly lying about the portal. She rudely yells at me and says there is no one else to speak to because she is Head of Customer Experience, and she is the only person. I calmly ask for the statement of work that was signed by my company, because Kelly repeats over and over, that they are following this statement of work. As I review the statement of work, there isn't a statement regarding a confirmation of the order. Just the cancelling of the order. I review the order acceptance policy, and it states "Order Acceptance PolicyConfirming an order on the website is not a guaranteed confirmation. Only an e-mailed receipt or other form of electronic confirmation, confirms the order. The food provider may require additional verifications or information before accepting any order. The credit card will be authorized up to 7 days prior to the time of the order, and then charged in full within 7 days after delivery of the order". Once again, I never confirmed the order on the website, or emailed a receipt of confirmation. I email Kelly and Amy this, and state that one of Chewse morals is that they make it right when they get it wrong. They are accountable for their errors, and provide transparency into your company's service. Kelly responds "Clients do not need to approve meals in their dashboards. The dashboard reflects scheduled meal details in addition to providing the option to swap items, increase portions, etc." And she went ahead and charged my credit card for the meal (which I never approved), and issued the 50% discount... how nice of her.I ended up calling the main customer service number to cancel my account with Chewse. If the head of customer service treats their clients like this, I do not want to work with anyone in the company again. Its unfortunate.

Chewse is a magnificent company that makes my life and job so much better! Our meal specialist, Theresa, is a life saver. She responds quickly, is never bothered by my craziness, and ensures we get phenomenal meals. The very fact we don't have to choose our own meals means I already love the service but the fact that it's so well curated and managed makes it all the better.I truly could not recommend this service enough!

Chewse has been so amazing that I created a yelp account just to write them a review! We have a standing weekly order with Chewse. They have made ordering lunch for the office incredibly simple! Dan is our "meal specialist" and he is the best (and not just because he brought me a cupcake and sends me cookies)! Dan knows everything about my office, from how many people to order for, to our dietary restrictions, and he even keeps the accounting team happy by ordering within our budget. All I have to do is send Dan an email and he takes care of the rest, or I can login to the website and make my own changes (the website is very user friendly). Dan has even provided suggestions for out of the office dining, happy hours, and an on-site BBQ company for a company event. He literally handles all of our food needs. We have been using Chewse at our office for a few months now, and I haven't heard one complaint from the team about the food. Every week we get a new place, that is absolutely delicious, and is delivered on time, every time! I was only going to try using Chewse for a month, but after the first week of working with Brandon to setup my account and then with Dan for our food preferences, we switched permanently. I cannot say enough good things about the team or their services! To sum up my review, I have used a so many catering services and Chewse is the best!Choose Chewse

I manage People Ops at a start-up in SF and Chewse caters my office's weekly lunch. The array of restaurants that comes within our budget isn't to be beat. We are a very diverse company with diverse tastes, and Chewse never ceases to impress. Very good vegetarian options. Very appreciative of the stellar customer service as well. Dan who was previously our meal specialist is amazing, and our new specialist Zoe is filling his shoes nicely. Chewse makes managing office meals a pleasant experience- a rarity indeed.

I'll start with the positive: Back when Theresa worked in San Francisco the service, food, everything was beyond amazing. Also, if you are lucky enough to get Rochealle as your meal host then I'm jealous! She is a rockstar and the only reason we put up with Chewse for so long. She can put a smile on anyone's face and we thought of her as part of our family. If I could find a way to hire her I would. Now to the other stuff: Unfortunately after Theresa left to start other operations we were given a less than adequate account manager. Somehow everything is always blamed on a "miscommunication" or "growing pains". No one takes responsibility and worse, the same problems keep happening over and over. -no host showing up to events-uncooked (raw) chicken - twice in one week-having to hand pick portions (aka do all the work of the AM ourselves) bc there was no consistency and employees didnt get meals on several occasions-items missing from orders-dietary restrictions not exactly followed So many "miscommunications". It makes us look bad in front of our employees and our clients. We gave chewse countless chances to correct but I wish we had moved on earlier. I sincerely hope Chewse rethinks their hiring process because the top leaders like Theresa deserve to be successful.

Stay away, meal planners. I used Chewse for almost a year and quit after headache after headache. I arrange team lunch for 45 every Friday and honestly there were issues every week. Driver went to wrong building, late deliveries, delivery people with attitudes, it was always something. I kept giving them another chance but it became clear problems were not being addressed. The cancelation policy is B.S. I've never encountered this with other vendors and a huge factor in dropping them. Very limited restaurant/menu options too.
