I have come here a few times. I will say it is better when you dine-in. I have done dine-in and take-out before and it might be me but it seems that the portions for dine-in is way better. Service is great. The restaurant can get packed so you might have to wait for a bit. For the peking duck, be sure to reserve them early during the day because they run out of it quick. Same thing with some of their BBQ dishes. All the food that we tried from here were pretty good. The Chinese sausage clay pot was delicious and the honey walnut prawns too. I think those are my favorites. Oh, and the scramble eggs with prawns is good too.

Someone recommended this spot to me. I was apprehensive with the Yelp reviews being so low but I had to try it based on the recommendation so I decided to order takeout from Postmates. Here's what I got:1 - Westlake Beef Soup - one of my favorite soups and so underrated2 - Fish with Tender Greens - simple and clean3 - Braised Mustard Greens with Mushroom - they don't specify on the menu but these are Shitake mushrooms)4 - Young Zhou Fried Rice 5 - Two Item BBQ - I choose roast duck and roast pork (I could taste the crispiness in the duck skin and the crunchiness in the roast pork skin)Given that this was a to go order, everything was packed really well in plastic containers and as for the taste, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and high quality. Everything tasted as I would have expected for this kind of establishment. Nothing was too over-seasoned or greasy. Just as expected, no surprises. I can't say anything about the service or ambience because I didn't dine in but this will definitely be on my list of rotations when ordering out. One thing I love about ordering Chinese take out is that you'll always have leftovers that will still be good and last a few days.

We scored a whole roast duck for $38, a big bowl of won ton soup and a plate of chow mein, pan fried dry noodle style, two bowls of white rice; about $80 with tax. 3 people were full and we had to take food home. The roast duck was a bit skimpy. The won ton soup was very good and nourishing. Chow mein was on spot too. Solid grub here.

The lady works there are really rude. The cup is dirty and I asked her to replace it, she brings me another dirty one, and I asked her to replace it again because I still can see the dirty yellow dust in the cup. She ask me what the dirty dust in an Inpatient and rude way. Never come back again.

Great place. Fast service, great food. We got the pork chop with spicy salt. It's not too spicy, just right. Seafood and tofu clay pot. There's actually rice crisp in the rice clay pot so that's a bonus. Will for sure come back.

I grew up in the Bay Area but went out of state about 10 years ago. When I was a kid, my mom brought me to the original Cheung Hing in SF and it was one of my favorite restaurants to go to. Then to my surprise after getting older, they opened one in Millbrae. Although it wasn't as good as the SF one, it was still not bad.A decade after leaving, it was to my surprise that a Cheung Hung is right here in San Mateo. Some serious nostalgia hit and I had to go for lunch even on Thanksgiving Day.It wasn't that busy there with in dining customers but since it was Thanksgiving it looked like there were tons of to go orders and prepped turkeys to go. As other reviews say, customer service isn't their trait and to be fair, in my whole life I never went to Cheung Hing for their customer service. I mean kinda expected that everyone would be complaining from the customers to the servers to the chefs... and they were lol.But what really disappointed me was the food. I ordered a curry beef stew over rice and some char siu (bbq pork). They didn't have any other bbq meats cause they sold out. The beef stew was cooked but with the type of meat they use it's supposed to be stewed for a long time. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here and it made the chewy stuff practically inedible. The char siu was okay. It was a pretty big portion for one order and they do cut it pretty think. I just found the meat to have too much fat on it and the char on it was barely existent. Overall I'm just gonna give it a 3 star review because I do appreciate the fact that they were open on Thanksgiving. A little unfortunate that the food wasn't that great as I remembered from other locations.

| Ambiance | Casual Chinese restaurant, with booths along the left wall, big tables in the middle, and a bench w/tables & chairs along the right wall. Easy, free parking right outside of the restaurant.| Service | Don't expect great service. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's the type of place where you have to be comfortable flagging people down, and telling them what you need. There're usually 2-3 servers and it's not a small space, so when they get busy, they may forget your drink; just flag them down and tell them.| Food | Authentic casual Chinese food at a reasonable price. Our favorite is the roast duck - and ALWAYS get the whole duck. We find that when we get a half duck, it's hit or miss on whether you get good pieces; with the whole duck, it's always delicious! I crave it from time to time! Their Hong Kong milk tea, clay pot rice, and Fookien fried rice are yummy too. Currently, they have a 6th anniversary menu available M-F of ~6 choices that's an even better deal than usual; each menu includes a main (a noodle/rice/porridge), a beverage, and a pineapple bun. We ordered the thousand year old egg & shredded pork porridge, and the roast duck noodles for our mains. The roast duck noodles came with the duck leg and a good # of yummy pieces; the porridge was great comfort food, along with the Chinese donut / yau tiew. The anniversary menu is definitely good value! Not sure how long it'll last, catch it while you can!

I've tried Cheung Hing at other locations and their BBQ is alright, until I tried the San Mateo location. TLDR: lackluster food and dishonest billing practices, check your credit card charges! There was no wait on a weekend, so I should've taken it as a sign. We dined in and ordered a BBQ combination platter with roast pork and roast duck. You can already tell from the pictures but the roast duck portion was basically inedible, since it was all skin and bone. They gave us neck and head, and other random parts with no meat. There was a layer of lettuce at the bottom to prop up the meat, which was drowning in oil. The roast pork was also extremely oily, so the skin was not crispy. The worst part is that when we checked our credit card bill a few days later, we realized they had altered the tip amount on the receipt and charged extra to the card. For their dishonest business practices and lackluster food, I don't recommend coming to this place at all.

Adding to my experience:Braised fish in clay pot: this is still a very solid option and is an item we get every time we order from here.Like I mentioned before they have a lot of BOGO offers on Uber Eats. This time, it happened to be very heavy on chicken.Chicken with sweet corn soup : chicken was very tender and broth was flavorful. The cup portion is probably enough for two people.Sweet and sour chicken (2/5): quite disappointing which flavor is being less optimal than some fast food Chinese restaurants. Would not order again.Chicken fried rice : tasted as expected.

Worse service ever! Just standing there and the servers said stop rushing me, we are too busy for you. Wow first time where just standing there without saying a single word is rushing. Plus throwing the menus on the table. Just go to the Millbrae franchise. This place is not worth the attitude!!
