I really liked the Champa sampler plate. The pad Thai and Tom kha soup are same quality as other Thai places I have tried, nothing too special there. But the sampler plate has the fresh lettuce leaves, crispy rolls, sausage, and noodles and sauce and everything comes together so deliciously. I would definitely get the sampler plate again. Bathroom was clean. Parking wasn't too hard to find on a Friday. I found free street parking about a block away!

I'm not one to write poor reviews, but this place really hit the spot. When we first walked in, the taller Asian male didn't even look up from his phone games or videos. He wasn't on lunch, wasn't on break, and was simply n indifferent about our presence. We arrived on a Thursday lunch shift and left fairly disappointed. The food presentation was pretty, but it was certainly not authentic Thai food. The flavor was lacking and the Tom yum soup tasted purely like a beef broth. We went for my little sisters birthday, and I hope nobody else brings their birthdays here to be disappointed as well. Big dog Mitch

This place was not good. So many things were bad. First off, tried to get attention from a worker for like 5 minutes but he was staring at his phone, not looking up. Finally another worker came out and took our order. We ordered pad see ew, pad kee mao, pad gra pow, tom yum noodle soup. Pad see ew and pad kee mao tasted pretty plain and nothing special. Not authentic at all and super oily. Tom yum soup didn't taste like tom yum at all - it was like water with vinegar. Pad gra pao was the only item that was remotely good but left us feeling so thirsty. We asked for the jalapeño vinegar sauce to spice up the noodle dishes and it came out looking so cloudy??? Definitely not normal. The pad kra pao did not come with rice and they didn't tell me until I had to ask for it, questioning if rice came out.Ordered thai iced tea and that was okay. Not the best ever but it was fine.Service was horrible. Two male servers from what we saw - the shorter one was fine but the taller one was literally just on his phone the whole time. Couldn't order from him, couldn't get the check until we said excuse me (rather loudly), just horrible service from him.The restaurant itself was cute though but it wasn't authentic by any means. Do not recommend, you can definitely find better places anywhere.

Always delicious food from this place. Tonight I had some Champa's Fried Rice delivered for dinner. The shrimp in this dish was sweet and plump and well cooked, with rice and veggies made for a nice meal. The delivery came fast. Thankfully I was checking my email, because the driver didn't ring the bell. Just dropped it ?

I was so happy to try Laotian food here! The servings are quite large so My party of two only tried two dishes. The Champa sampler was very delicious and a fun mixture of flavors and textures. I love a lettuce wrap and making them different every time. Their fish sauce was delicious and on the sweeter side. The Lao kaow soy was amazing. I'd never had it before and I couldn't stop eating it. The whole dish was very balanced, with the flat noodles, shredded chicken, green onion and cilantro, and the super flavorful clear broth made with fermented bean. Service was great. The restaurant itself felt a little old and could use new furnishings.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Lao cuisine, Champa Garden is a hidden gem worth seeking out! Nestled off the main road at 613 Faxon Ave, this spot might be a bit tricky to find, but it's a discovery you won't regret. My friend and I arrived around 7:15 PM, and to my surprise, there was plenty of seating available--perfect for a relaxing dinner. The menu here leans heavily into Lao dishes, which is refreshing given how rare Lao cuisine is in the Bay Area. On a previous visit, a Lao friend introduced me to their Lao Sausages, and let me tell you--they're unforgettable. So naturally, I had to try them again, this time paired with the Lao Tacos. What a combo! The tacos were unbelievably juicy, with flavors elevated by the addition of fish sauce. Who knew tacos could be this good?We also tried the Champa Fried Rice--a solid dish, though the flavor was a bit muted for my taste. It came with shrimp (which, fun fact, I just learned is different from prawns--thanks to my friend). The Claypot Veggie dish was a standout, with delicious glass noodles that brought the whole dish together beautifully.Lastly, we ordered their Fried Chicken Wings. While tender and juicy, they were a tad heavy-handed on the soy sauce. Still, they had that comfort-food vibe that made them enjoyable overall.Oh, and don't skip dessert! The Mango Sticky Rice was phenomenal. The texture was silky smooth, and it had just the right balance of sweetness. It was the perfect way to round off the meal.On top of the fantastic food, the service was impeccable. The staff made sure our water cups were always full, and the food came out so fast that we barely had to wait. Their attentiveness added to the overall experience and made the meal that much more enjoyable.Champa Garden is a great spot to explore if you're looking to broaden your palate and support a spot serving unique, flavorful dishes. Just make sure to try those Lao Sausages, Lao Tacos, and Mango Sticky Rice--you won't regret it!

Good to know there's good Lao food on the Peninsula!Located in the Ingleside district of San Francisco, Champa Garden offers a wide assortment of Lao and Thai food. Considering there aren't too many Laotian restaurants in the Bay, I hoped this place would deliver and it did!My friend got Nam Khao and I got Khao Poon. They both tasted as authentic as I'm used to as the Khao Poon was creamy and savory. I would highly recommend asking for lemon, basil, and mint as they will enhance the flavor of the broth a lot more. The Nam Khao was also very decent! The ambiance and the service also delivered. The servers there got our food out relatively fast and attended to our needs quickly. The ambiance of the restaurant was really nice as the interior was well thought out, they even played the Warriors game on TV!Anyways, stop by if you love Thai and Lao food, they won't disappoint!

One of the better Thai spots in the area!! Tucked away on a side street on Ocean, you will find this small restaurant with a cozy ambiance. The reasonable prices stood out to me first, and their food's quality exceeded my expectations. We enjoyed the sampler and pad Thai, both delicious.

There are metered parking spots and limited free parking around this restaurant. We walked passed by this restaurant, we thought they were closed because it was pretty dim inside. Once we entered the restaurant, we were greeted and seated by a friendly waiter. We order the chicken satay, chicken pad thai, pork with cashews, seafood sizzling platter, chicken pineapple fried rice, and mango sticky rice. All the food came out in a timely manner. The chicken satay were fried and not grilled like other restaurants. They were pretty dry even with the peanut sauce and cucumber relish on top of them. The sauce for the chicken pad thai had the balance of sour, salty, and sweetness to it. The pork with cashews and chicken pineapple fried rice were tasty and flavorful. The seafood sizzling platter was still sizzling when it got to our table. The mango sticky rice wasn't too sweet, which we really liked. The prices were fairly reasonable and they gave us generous portions. We'll be back to try their fresh spring rolls and their other entrees.

I've been a frequent customer of Champa Garden. We like this location because it's often not too busy and the food is always on point. At the very least, we always get the Champa Sampler. It's a perfect combination with the lao sausages, crispy rice, and fried egg rolls with greens and noodles on the side for you to wrap. On that particular day, the Pad Ped Pla Dook was not up to par with the green beans being quite old and hard to chew. Other than that, we enjoyed our meal and was in and out of there less than 1.5 hours which is great when you have a kiddo. We went on a Saturday during lunch time and the service was just ok, we asked for a high chair and instead of the server getting it for us upon getting seated, he just stood there behind the counter so we got it ourselves.
