This review is focused solely on the checkers--and not even all of them. I've been coming here for years and have come to really appreciate some of the specialty food items. Kinda expensive otherwise. What sucks is the customer service. It is consistently just bad. I'm not asking you to make my day or smile even necessarily be pleasant, but Jesus, dude, if you dislike customer service, maybe find another thing to do. Don't be a b and bark orders at customers. No thanks, no politeness. I guess self checkout would be a better idea...at least there wouldn't be annnnny expectation.

Bought some packaged sausage here on 10/19.When I opened it at home, it was obviously spoiled and smelled bad.I thought cooking it might be OK, but it still was rank and had to throw it away. The label said "packed on 10/14", and "best by 10/24".I was not happy to have paid $15 for a package of rotten meat.

Sometimes you got to take a hike or a trek and enjoy some nature in the city. This isn't the Grand Canyon or Laurel Canyon but it's Glen Park Canyon and it's my habitat in San Francisco. Here you may run into a coyote as the trails leads to the Canyon Market. The Canyon Market which has been a San Francisco neighborhood staple in the Glen Park Village and has a little bit of everything. This place is the go to place for quality drinks and food. Although it is part of the Gus's portfolio of supermarkets in San Francisco it has that same neighborhood vibe. I enjoy shopping here because they have good items to pick up. When it comes to cheese and wine this place is well stocked for whatever you need for in the day time or at night time. They do have a great produce section and they do carry tasty desserts. They also offer food to go like the fried chicken dinner and salads and savory soups. The Canyon Market is a diamond mine on Diamond street. Keeping it consistent during it changes. When you are on the path on the Glen Park Canyon trail you might run into a coyote with their companion Make sure not to feed them but to continue on the path to then feed yourself at the Market ( not on Market street ) called The Canyon

Since the change in ownership this place has gone way down hill. The soups are terrible. The "customer service" if you even want to call it that is worse than ever. Non-labeled / priced weighed items. The only good thing that has survived is the coffee bar. It's sad that this has happened to a lovely neighborhood spot. Gus' is not Canyon Market. We avoid this store at all costs now after a few terrible sandwiches, workers that couldn't be bothered to answer simple questions, and soup that truly was horrific.

This is a great store , well stocked, clean , and you can find unique and interesting products. Lots of chocolates. The produce looks very fresh and well managed. The fish looks very fresh and they a lot of different cuts of meat. It is a heaven for discriminating chefs. The staff looked shy though I went to different aisles but no one said hi or asked if I wanted anything. If only they were more welcoming then it would have been a solid 5.

We normally love this place. The week of this past holiday, we bought a pork tenderloin. When we opened it our entire kitchen stunk from it and the meat was turning rancid. Checked the expiration and it was still within the acceptable timeframe. Someone packaged rancid meat. We tried calling and emailing to no avail. Guess we lost $10 on bad meat.Unfortunately we didn't take a picture because the smell was so bad I asked my husband to take it out immediately. Check the meat you buy thoroughly. Especially if prepackaged. So disgusted by how bad this was. I've never experienced this before.

This is an amazing small city market. The merchandise is top quality and super fresh. There is a section for candles and small gifts, and one for toiletries and medical products. There is a significant selection of alcohol: wines, ciders, and cocktails. Fresh vegetables, meats, dairy, baked goods, and FLOWERS! A staple store here.

I'm so surprised this spot doesn't have more reviews! My bf and I are often in the area and will swing by canyon market for snacks and/or drinks. They have a nice variety of beers/ciders/wine and you can find a lot of essentials and specialty items in the market. It's not 5 stars for me because I prefer to get my produce elsewhere because of cost, but that's not always possible. Ex: a bunch of celery was ~$5/lb. I think I'll be going here more often though because meat prices are getting higher and I find their quality of meats, availability and price point to be very reliable. I haven't seen chicken wings at Safeway or Trader Joe's for a few weeks and I picked some up here today for $5.99/lb. Chicken thighs were 7.99/lb and last week I paid $11.99/ for the same at Safeway. They have a breakfast bar and serve sandwiches. My bf couldn't believe that his sandwich today was from there, he thought it was great. There's also eclectic selection of candles, incense, housewares, etc. I personally couldn't do all of my grocery shopping here but I'm always happy with what I get.

Popped in looking for something to satisfy my chocolate craving. There was a table of chocolate in front of the entrance (to the left of the front register). I picked up two selections, one familiar with the peanut and chocolate combination and the other a Russian bar that appeared slightly unique in flavor composition. The Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups made in Little Havana AVOID!!! For $8 they taste artificial and grainy, nothing about the cup translates quality. Four mini bite sized cups for $8 is fine if the quality is there and with these they are not. The Rozsavolgyi Csokolade chocolate bar, composed of candied cocoa nibs soaked in palinka in seasoned dark chocolate, is heavenly. Each bite is velvety and lingers on the palette in the most pleasant of ways. This bar would pair well with a Merlot or Cabernet and strawberries if it's to serve as a dessert or night cap. The store itself is quaint and confined, offering a selection suitable for its size and unique in options. I did not venture down any aisles but the fruit I could see from the front is seasonal and the flowers vibrant. The cashiers did not greet me, nor did they say anything during my extended transaction as they were unable to locate the price of the peanut butter cups. I was provided my total, offered a bag and a receipt during the transaction, and in absence of a thank you I received a smile.

This is a great place to shop if you're looking for high quality snacks or if you're trying to up your charcuterie board game! They have a great selection of house made dips and spreads - I recommend the smoked salmon spread ($11.99/lb). Lots of cheese to choose from but I'm pretty sure the Parmesan ($21.99/lb) they sell here is the same one at Whole Foods - LOVE IT! They have homemade chips with cinnamon & sugar. I always be sure to grab a couple bags. Located across from Glen Park Bart
