Sandwiches and salads are super tasty. Their dessert fridge looks a bit barren but they look like they would taste good. What prompted me to give them 3 stars is their not so smiley counter person. I think she's the manager there but super poker faced. She doesn't seem happy. I've gone at all times of the day too. But I guess it's contagious because after I paid for my food, I realized they tacked on a 5% SF Mandate tax, what the heck? For a sandwich place with only one location? Yeah, I'm straight on paying ghost price gouging fees. I'll stick with getting ripped off for concerts but not cafes. Damn Gina... Display it somewhere that you charge this so I don't end up tipping out 25% for a sandwich!

Have been going here for years for their cakes and have loved their cakes! Unfortunately their quality has changed. Ordered two mini cakes to go and the chocolate cake with strawberry was dry and not put into place well by the store when I brought it to go. The chocolate covered strawberry was great though.

This is a cute spot with minimalist decor. I loved the pastry I got here! I had my coffee from Sana, and although they only offer cheesecakes, I still ended up coming by. It's a great place to gather with friends.

Cafe Madeline offers a delightful lunch menu, Sandwiches and Salads along with a selection of delicious cakes. Our office favorite is the caramel dulce de leche cake, cherished for its rich flavor and perfect balance of sweetness.Update: they now accept Apple Pay.

Delicious burrata salad. Frittatas And quiches of all sorts. Try the Japanese curry pot pie it brings a side salad. Endless small pastries and deserts and cakes.

I love this place for the buratta salad. I always add chicken, and it's still a good deal at $3.50 extra. In the past, the salad was topped with pinenuts, but now it's replaced with hazelnuts. Not a downgrade in substitution since they really pack in those hazelnuts. The chicken was the biggest improvement; what used to be dry chunks have now transformed into moist strips. The spring mix salad comes with beets, truffle salt, buratta, and hazelnuts. It's a very large portion for $20. It should feed me for two meals, but I couldn't stop eating. Buratta is the best.

Forgot to take a picture when it was still whole and beautiful but the Tres Leches cake is one of the best I've tried so far in SF (I'm on a mission to try them all!). Might be too sweet for some but it was perfectly moist, flavorful, with the perfect texture. And for $50-55 per 8" cake, it's not as large of a hit on the wallet as others in the area.Brought it to a picnic and I regret not taking the last two pieces home for meeeeEdit: went back and got another one ;)

Great little cafe, excellent sandwiches, quiche is a must and comes with a generous salad and the desserts are on point. Definitely a spot to check out and is so affordable- express sandwich of the day $6.50 and a frittata is under $5. On a budget or needing a treat try this bakery.

Any place that has a solid lunch for under $15 in 2024 is a win in my book- it helps that cafe Madeline's chicken pot pie also might be one of the best pot pies I've had. A nice chicken medley with a great flakey crust. And it comes with a salad?? What's not to love? The folks working the counter are always pleasant and of course they also sell all sorts of sweet treats.

My sister brought this triple chocolate mousse cake for my birthday a few yrs ago. It was love at first bite. Ever since then my family gets this cake for my birthday. We live in Milpitas so my husband or sister arrange for an Uber driver willing to pick it up bring it to us. Even though it is an inconvenience for my family to get it and they have to pay extra it is completely worth it. Best cake ever!
