"I am SO happy I found this place. I was looking for a good sichuan restaurant and this happened to be walking distance. The food here is freaking DIVINE! It's a little hole in the wall, no frills but very lively and you can tell people are really enjoying the food. I ordered the Sichuan fish, chili paste noodles, cumin lamb, and chongqing chicken. Everything had the level of spice that I was seeking and tasted so good! The cumin lamb didn't really taste like cumin but it was cooked very well. My favorites were the chicken and the fish. The portions are huge and you'll have plenty leftover! Check it out"
"We've been going to this place for at least 10 years and it is still by far one of the best Sichuan restaurants in San Francisco. For my spouse and I, it is our favorite. The food is always excellent, super flavorful and consistently of the same quality. The prices are super reasonable. The service is friendly and fast. This place is legit Sichuan food (I lived in China so I have high standards ), if you are looking for American-Chinese food, I am sure they can do it, but might not be the best.I am surprised this place isn't getting a better rating. Good for us because there is almost never wait time to get a table."

"Earl Spicy has been in the old Yi Yuan location for 5 years, the interior decor is same and serves Szechuan cuisine. Met up with some old friends for lunch the day after Thanksgiving. After conversation with the owner found out this will be their last week. They sold the restaurant due to health issues. We ordered a table full of food of which most were good. They said the new owners are going to keep some of the most popular items. Only three tables at lunch."
"This place never seizes to impress my palette. Actually , let me go back on that. The first time I had tried it, I hadn't developed yet my obsession for Szechuan; and I wasn't really aware of how I felt. About a month after trying it, I had an odd craving for this delicious spice, and there was no going back. I now order once per month. My favorite are the Dan Dan noodles, and the Mapo Tofu. I also love the boiled fish, however, I've recently cut back on fish and I therefore skip that one. (The flavors are terrific and this place doesn't fail in delivering that flavor I now crave. The people who run this place are warm and welcoming ; and the ambiance is clean , casual, (yet slightly elegant ) ,and inviting. Of course I will continue to go back."
"Overall , I really enjoyed this restaurant. They have sweet and friendly service. Very attentive and helpful. When asking to take my soup to go, they made sure to give me 2 containers so my soup wouldn't soak up all the broth. I got the number 3 . I really enjoyed the seafood soup with egg noodles! It was savory and satisfying. I enjoyed it reheated the next day as well . For me , the fried shrimp appetizer was pretty bland.Overall, I would highly recommend a visit for the seafood soup and I am excited to try more dishes here"
"We ordered delivery from Little Szechuan and it was delicious, fast, and hot! It came in an adorable reusable bag. Lil Szech has plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. Prices are fair for the portions. And ample cutlery and diverse sauces are provided. The only issues I had was that rice is not included in the meals, so make sure you order a side of rice if you want it. And the Crispy Tofu in Chili Oil isn't tossed in sauce. While delicious, the description is somewhat deceiving. The potstickers are chunky bois, and really tasty as well.Lil Szech is definitely worth a try!"
"Craving something nice and warm? Not sure what to get and not liking the different options? Want something specific without any additional things? Check out Tang Bar.Build your own hot pot noodle soup! Tang Bar brings the Malatang spicy Chinese street food concept to the Bay and elevates the experience while making it easily approachable even if you've never had anything similar. The build your own bowl adventure at Tang Bar lets you get everything you want and nothing you don't, placing the power in your hands to make the perfect bowl for you. While it may seem intimidating at first, it's actually quite simple and easy - make your way down the bar and grab what you love, letting them do the rest and prepare to perfection for you.The staff is friendly and efficient. They also keep the place very clean and orderly. The vibes are immaculate and they capture the fast casual concept perfectly. It's amazing they were able to include that inside an inconspicuous mall. They've definitely made the best of the odd setup.Overall, if you are craving a hot bowl of delicious soup filled with only the ingredients you love, Tang Bar is the place for you."

Love this spot!! Wish this was next to my home so I can feel like I have Chinese home cooked meals all the time. Came by on an early Friday evening and got seated right away. The server let us know Mama Ji had some new dishes from her trip to China and we got almost all of them to try! The Garlic Ribs did NOT disappoint. It was so tender and full of flavor. Must try if the server recommends this to you!

Visited with family at dinnertime on a Monday night to find an almost empty restaurant. We were seated immediately and shortly after us, another family what seemed to be returning guests were seated and the manager/waittress soon came to take their order, as well as ours. We ordered the Couple's Delight, Beef in Special Chili Sauce, Sweet and Sour Pork Spareribs, Fish Filet and Cabbage in Chili Sauce, and a cold noodle with sliced chicken dish, and rice for the table. Our food came at a decent speed and the flavors were all so-so to me. Some dishes, the fish especially, were spicy but not as spicy as I've had at other Sichuan restaurants and I got more of the tongue numbing sensation than tongue-burning, sweating spice. I particularly enjoyed the sweet and sour spareribs, which were more sweet with no hints of sour, and would jump at the chance to order this again. Our dinner came out to a little bit under $100 which I felt was a bit pricey for the portions that were served. Would I come back to try other dishes? Potentially. Would those dishes be the level of spice I am looking for when eating at a Sichuan restaurant? Maybe. But I am in no rush to return.

Nestled among other Chinese and Asian spots on El Camino in Millbrae, Yummy Szechuan is not to be missed. While the Beef Roll was just your standard, they really aced the Dan Dan Noodle and our stir fried dish. Dan Dan Noodle: The numbing flavor is easily the best part of the dish. The balance of flavors with the pork, garlic and peanut made each bite of the bouncy noodles (chow mein thickness) so addictive. We recently went to a place that had fresh noodles but the Dan Dan sauce was lacking. I'd rather this place with the balance of flavors.Stir Fried Yellow Beef: Excellent flavor, wok heat and a hint of heat. Beef was not too soft and just perfect. Highly recommend pairing with white rice since our noodles were so numbing! Everything came out quickly and our server was so efficient and lovely. There were takeout orders and dine in but we didn't have to wait long. The menu is expansive as well so can't wait to return to try more dishes, as most older Chinese patrons opted for their stir fried dishes with rice.

Cold night, had a taste for Mapo Tofu and other Yelpers were right that this Sunset District spot, Szechuan Cuisine, does Mapo Tofu so, so well.I found myself trying to deconstruct the dish: Green Sichuan peppercorns, a dollop of black bean sauce, a scant bit of cumin? It kept me guessing.I could've gone up in heat level from the medium I ordered. I wanted a mouth-numbing mala feel which I'm sure they'd accommodate. Yeah man, I can take your heat, bring it! As good as the Mapo Tofu was, the Dan-Dan noodles disappointed: The sauce didn't coat the noodles like other Yelpers' photos of the dish and the flavor lacked depth. But just like that, the pork chili wontons pulled me back in, amazing. Hot in both temperature and spiciness, their juiciness dusted with dry chili powder had my eyes fly open while reaching for the serving spoon to grab two more.Service was friendly and sweet. They promptly refilled water glasses and conversed with my son in Mandarin. Note to those sensitive, they do use MSG and I drank more water to offset a headache I felt beginning to lurk behind my eyes. (Worth it, that's why they make Exedrin)

Solid Chinese take out needed post travel. Not bad for what we needed tonight! Ordered the chicken fried rice, crab Rangoon, veggie egg rolls, and the Shanghai steamed dumplings.

Yes I am many years late to the Tang Bar hype in this Stonestown location, but it is still thriving every time I walk by. It is packed! I got to try this Tang Bar location and it was great. It's an easy process getting your food too. You pick out your ingredients in a line, cafeteria style, then go to the cashier to pick our your soup base. Then they make your food with your ingredients you choose then pick it up. The customization aspect is what makes this place so appealing for so many. The weight of my bowl was a little over 1.30 lbs and that was filling enough for me. I picked the chicken broth which I got judgement for, but I swear it's good! If you're in the mood for a lighter flavor and not one with a kick or sour taste then this is a great option. The meat and veggies all taste fresh and you can't really go wrong with anything you pick. Yes, I even picked spam. It was worth it.Service is friendly overall too although you certainly don't get that much opportunity to interact with the staff with this type of style of restaurant. The ambiance in this location and even San Mateo's looks really nice, but seating is definitely a bit limited. There is also the long table with a pond in the middle with actual fish which surprised me. My first thought was, "what would happen if someone spilled some of their soup into the water...or a piece of beef?" 10/10 experience going to Tang Bar and I can see why it's always so busy. Would recommend this spot to anyone and I will go again without a doubt.

A solid sichuan spot in the heart of Chinatown. We were seated in a semi-secluded area near the back, which was nice despite having no reservation. The spicy chicken with explosive chili peppers was top tier, but the cucumber salad was surprisingly my favorite dish. Crunchy fresh cucumbers with yummy garlic & cilantro that wasn't too overpowering - the perfect appetizer to precede some spicy noms! My only complaints would be that the tea smoked duck looked nothing like the menu photo, and that it was difficult to get the attention of our server on a busy night.

"I don't really eat Szechuan food enough. I was looking for a quick lunch in Chinatown that was a little out of the ordinary and I stumbled upon Spicy King. It's an intimidating name for a restaurant but I gave them a try. I ordered the chicken and fish maw with flaming pot and it was excellent. It was definitely "hot" - it numbs the tongue a little and my face started really sweating. I absolutely loved it. I needed more napkins to wipe the sweat off my face. Service was good though the restaurant wasn't busy. I liked the decor - it's a little more upscale than the traditional Chinatown restaurant. With tax and tip, this dish was around $38 - relatively pricey for lunch but I enjoyed it. I'd recommend them if you are looking for some spicy food in Chinatown."
"My second time visiting the restaurant. The price and quality is very good for in the city restaurants. I'm not a hot pot expert so both times, one of our Chinese friends was there and helped with ordering. The menu has a great selection of meat, appetizers, and drinks. It is ayce hot pot and ayce drinks. They have alcohol, Asian drinks, and soda. So I love that they have the variety. They also have ice cream for after. The staff are nice, food comes out quick and is a great place to have dinner with friends and family."
"Have actually been obsessed with this place for the iron pot, which is essentially like hot pot flavors, but with no soup and in stir fry form. I usually get it with the fried fish filet which is *chef's kiss*, flavorful and crunchy but has a kick to it! Come hungry because the small iron pot is perfect for two people, and I usually take the rest home since I also order additional things. The leftovers even taste good the next day because the flavor has soaked in even more. I do recommend that you consider the spice level because like their name, "spices", the food can be pretty spicy even for a medium. I also LOVE their fried eggplant, for an appetizer. It's crunchy on the outside with that spicy chili and peppery flavor, and balances out the eggplant flavor so well. Like I said, service is quick and I'm so happy it's close to me in my neighborhood. I go all the time for some comfort food and am still not tired of it!"
"A few friends of ours were meeting after almost 10 years and we wanted to have a great food experience where we could chill and have a great time. We knew about Chef Sha's Schezwan style, cooking restaurant and search and specifically homed in on this restaurant. The ambience is okay, probably gets busy during the evening, but the food here is amazing. We had the garlic green beans sauteed . We had the chicken, wings on a bed of red chilies and the boiled fish in a spicy sauce. The chicken chow mein, Paired with steamed rice, augmented the spicy fish curry and the whole lunch experience was amazing. Cold beers to cool you down and so If you love schiuan style Cooking, this is a place. You must try. Five stars all the way."
"It's been a few years since my last review, and I think it's time for a well deserved update. It seems the majority of my issues with Fey in my previous review was heavily caused by food delivery services. Per Fey's recommendation to order pickup instead, all the issues we faced earlier have been resolved.Their food consistently has been high quality, decent portion sizes, and their pricing hasn't spiked too much in the past few years so I find them as my go-to Chinese spot whenever I have a hankering."
"Completely fine but average Chinese restaurant. Large portions, tasty dishes, and efficient service. It fits all the main points if you're looking for an average restaurant."
"Ever since our favorite Chinese restaurant shut down, we've trying out local alternatives to find a new, regular replacement. Despite constantly driving past Yunnan Style Rice Noodle every time we drive down San Pablo, we never tried this place out until recently. We ordered to-go through Grubhub, and the order was ready and waiting for us timely when I arrived. Although I didn't dine in, the inside was very spacious with a lot of available tables to sit at. Ordered a Sliced Beef Fried Flat Noodle in Premier Soy Sauce and a Braised Eggplant with Grounded Pork. Both dishes came with a generous portion size, and were reasonably priced. The Braised Eggplant had a pleasantly surprising large amount of pork, rather than mostly eggplant as I would have guessed would be the case. The flat noodles, while good, weren't clumped together and could have been better prepared so they did not stick together in large globs. There is limited street parking directly in front of the restaurant, but plenty of street parking if you turn into the residential areas."
"Food delicious, location is great. Employees are friendly. Ambiance is awesome. Thank you so much."
"Food was really good. The dumplings were spicy. The ambiance was friendly and inviting. We sat in front of the fireplace."
"Came in on Monday for dinner with a friend and was able to walk in and sit down right away. There were a decent amount of people, especially solo diners. The outside is low key and the inside is decorated quite tastefully. Service was great, our server was very attentive as she filled up our teapot as soon as we were done and our food came out quickly! My friend and I both ordered the spicy beef noodle soup (she asked for extra spicy and they successfully brought the heat ). She always orders the chongqing numbing spice noodles but decided to try something new (but we're pretty sure the spicy beef noodle soup is just the numbing spice noodle + beef). The cucumber salad was light and refreshing (side note: you can ask them to make it spicy like we did). From the reviews I was expecting knife cut noodles and from the pictures on the menu I wasn't expecting the meat to be on the bone but I was pleasantly surprised! The broth was rich in a nice fragrant numbing spice. The meat fell right off the bone and you could taste the flavors very well (10/10 would recommend and I'd definitely bring my Szechuan mom here). I'm excited to try more of their menu!"
