"First and foremost, the ramen is excellent. The broth is rich with umami, and the noodles have a great mouth feel. Other than that, the roasted pork in the regular tonkatsu set is delicious and satisfying. The combo said it's only six more dollars, and it comes with a bowl of rice and a size salad, which is more than I could finish today Overall, this is a stand out Ramen restaurant that either is learned from the failings of others, or never followed in their trendy footsteps in the first place"
"Pretty popular place, had a waitlist, it's easier to get a seat if you had a small party of 2. Highly recommend the oxtail tomato ramen, it's super flavorful, some oxtails were tender and the others were a bit too chewy, but overall decent"

"BRING BACK TOM YUM SOUP BROTH. As frequenters who actually completed 3 loyalty cards between 2 people we ask nicely please, bring back tom yum soup. The new sukiyaki broth that replaced it is too sweet and the sweet and sour tomato broth gave me a horrible acid reflux. After they removed tom yum we tried it a couple more times but even the variety of the ingredients decreased. Sadly, we won't be coming back anytime soon. Maybe maybe maybe"
"I have been here multiple times for just casual eats or even a night out and every time is just as good. They are open super late, staff is friendly and sweet - very attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend the pork belly skewers, fried chicken, drinks, desserts, and they have a great drink selection."
"Came here on a Friday night with friends and there was a bit of a wait around 6:45 but we didn't have to wait long$260 for 4 people: 20% gratuity was automatically included because 4 people is considered a large party hereThis is what we ordered (not everything is pictured):- potato salad (complimentary appetizer/side that is soooo good)- dirty cauliflower (we had a veggie hater at our table who was pleasantly surprised and ended up loving it)- fried shrimp ball (one big ball with incisions for four pieces, very yummy)- 2 skewer combos (great way to sample different things but our table felt the chicken was the best)- oxtail omurice (a bit disappointed the egg didn't do the runny thing when we cut it open like traditional omurice, this was very rich and flavorful, presented very nicely but I'd get something different next time)- garlic chili tonkatsu ramen (they ran out of the pork belly and had to substitute it with more thin pieces of meat)Yes, was a bit on the pricier side but we enjoyed the ambience inside and the food was delicious. Personally I only enjoyed the skewers and I'd definitely come back to try their happy hour!"
"I came on a Sunday at noon and remembered to join the waitlist ahead of time. I was seated immediately upon arrival and saw that it got busier but there were still tables by the time I left at 1pm.I had the miso ramen and would get it again. I think it's slightly more watery than other miso ramen I've had but I really liked it the way they do it here. It still has an intense dose of flavor and I personally liked that it was a little less intense miso flavor. Also had the chicken karaage and it just slaps!!!!! So good!"
"It's starting to get cold outside and I start craving soups and warm dishes. My coworker had a couple ideas in mind for lunch and I jumped at Fumi for the Curry dishes. I had been once before for the ramen, but was craving curry and we decided to go try it out. To start we ordered the fried calamari, which was good. Each of us ordered a curry rice plate, which was pretty big. We got the chicken katsu curry, pork katsu curry and the tender beef curry. The food came out pretty fast, which was good because we were on our lunch break and needed to get back. Plate was so big I brought my leftovers home. The food was VERY satisfying and warm on a cold rainy winter day."
"I've eaten at Coco's Ramen twice now and each time has been great! Their ramen is excellent; I HIGHLY recommend the pork-belly, it has a Wonderful texture and very fragrant and flavorfully marinated. They have a curry broth which I had not seen before coming to Coco's Ramen; my first visit I ordered the curry ramen + medium spice + pork belly + fresh garlic , and added corn. Noodles were nicely chewy, and the portion was perfect. 5/5! my most recent visit: my aunt got the curry ramen with pork-belly after I recommended it, & my uncle ordered seafood ramen (as he cannot consume pork). I tried the Shio broth this time, with fatty pork and corn as well. I personally prefer their curry ramen but the shio ramen was less heavy and very satisfying still. My uncle said the clams in his seafood ramen were veryy good, and my aunt had finished her curry ramen when we were still halfway through the shio & seafood ramens lol Other notables! The Hamachi Kama was delicious as well with a very smooth and buttery texture, 5/5!Ika Karaage was not bad at all but didn't stand out as much as the other foods we had, 3.5/5Service was quick; there was one waitress managing all the tables and she was impressively handling many delivery-app orders as well. I enjoy the dining space and efficiency of service, and really enjoy the food at Coco's Ramen. THEIR PORK BELLY!! is Truly SO GOOD! Will definitely be back!"
"Delicious food; small location so there could be a wait. We signed our name and phone number on the paper in the front. They ran out of pad kee mao and pad see ew by the time we sat :( but my friends said it's the best they've had so I'll have to come back and try it!The pad Thai was soo good and saucy! Sometimes other places have pad thai that's a little dry but this dish was perfect. I don't usually opt for pad thai but I will 100% get this again. The mushroom fries are better than the corn tempura; we asked for spicy mayo on the side (it comes with plum sauce also). The lettuce wraps were also a hit! Nice and fresh veggie with crispy pork."
"Came here on Sunday around noon, my boyfriend and I were immediately seated upon arrival. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and family friendly. Once we were seated, they brought out waters and utensils! But if I'm honest, the time it took to get our food was really slow compared to how fast they seated us and brought out our waters. Tom San was a rec from one of my friends, and we were so shocked to see the prices when looking at the menu. You're really getting a great deal for the sashimi and ramen as well. Onto the food itself, the ramen was so delicious. We got the spicy miso - perfectly spicy and there was so much depth to the broth. It wasn't watery or super thick, the perfect amount of both. The egg was a little runnier than I liked, but still very lovely pair with the ramen. We also got their chirashi bowl, which was filled with ample amounts of sashimi. So good and we were honestly stuffed at the end, it hurt. Dragon roll was so yum, the tempura was so crispy and the sauce wasn't too sweet! Highly recommend, seems like everything on their menu is going to be good. If you're looking for a quick spot, it does take some amount of time for them to prep the food (which - I am not complaining about! Obviously I'd rather have quality of food over the speed of delivery; though both would be nice), that being said, I recommend coming here for the quality of the food!"
"Fish Quality: 4 out of 5Service : 3 out of 5 Ambience: 4.5 out of 5Rolls: 3 out of 5Rainbow Roll: Shouldn't come with Eel Sauce, which drowns out the flavor. It isn't advertised with eel sauce, 4 out of 8 pieces had a tolerable drizzle, the other rolls were rather thick beyond normal bite size, so slightly much, for texture purposes, although quality is present :)"

I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen, and as always, it feels like both home and a hug at the same time.I first tried HiroNori in LA, and was so happy to find it in the Bay Area! It still gives me the same butterflies as when I first tasted it. The broth is absolutely amazing--nothing really compares, to be honest. We visited on Valentine's weekend, and to our surprise, it wasn't too busy. Parking was also surprisingly easy, despite being in the heart of downtown San Mateo. The servers were incredibly friendly and even offered great recommendations. The chicken was perfection--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We also tried the vegan gyoza, which was good but I'd rate it a 7/10.The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I haven't yet tried all of their ramen options. I'll update my review once I do. LOL!

Great vibes in here! We arrived at 7pm on a Friday and were surprised to be seated right away! This is our 3rd time here and there's usually typically a wait (but that could also be happy hour times). I let my friends ordered and all the food HIT THE SPOT. See pictures for the description! The music was good, the ambiance (in the main room) was nice, and the food was very tasty!!

We randomly went on a Tuesday night which happened to be all day happy hour! Ambiance: Nice, dim setting. Food:1. Sushi nuggies (HH $10) - delicious 2. Spicy crunch salmon (HH $5) - so good 3. Mentaiko Ikura Carbonara ($32) - pretty pricey for what it is and also not a huge portion, but it was really good! 4. Shishito peppers (HH $6) - also good! 5. Gizzards (HH $6) - not a huge fan of gizzards, but this was tasty. 6. Chicken thigh skewer (HH $6) - this was good! 7. Berry lychee spritzer ($15) - this was delicious. Favorite drink of the night. 8. Pineapple beer ($9) - this was great, but couldn't really taste the pineapple. 9. Miso trio hand roll (HH $5) - this was amazing. I'd definitely order this again. 10. Yuzu nigori glass (HH $5) - this was like a shot lol it was pretty strong 11. Strawberry nigori (HH $5) - this was good12. Free potato salad side per person Service: Great and accommodating. They'll let you have extra potato salad if they think there will be enough for the rest of the night.

The service was incredible here. We ordered the sand storm calamari, tokusei tsukemen (dipping noodle) and shio chuka soba (chicken ramen). The sand storm calamari was perfectly crispy and I LOVED the chili crisps that came with it. The tokusei tsukemen was a fun experience to try and the pork chashu here was the best I've ever had, it was so tender. The shio chuka soba was light and delicious. Even the egg was orange and the perfect consistency. This is definitely my favorite ramen restaurant in the city, can't wait to come back and try the tonkatsu ramen next time!

We decided to do take out the other night and ordered a tan tan ramen and a chicken katsu with curry and rice. The tan tan ramen came in a bowl of noodles topped with minced meat, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and green onions. The broth was super flavorful and creamy as were the toppings. It didn't seem like much at first but it was very filling. I even had extra broth so I could add my own noodles for another meal if I wanted. The chicken katsu was perfectly cooked and came with white rice and a salad. The curry came on the side. I highly recommend this item too.Since we did take out, I can't comment on the service. But they were friendly and had our food ready on time. The food was still hot and the chicken still crispy by the time we got home. The restaurant is super busy during the weekend too.If you're looking for a weeknight meal, or if you're craving curry or tan tan men, this is definitely the place to go. We'll be back!

I have a say this might be one of the best ramen spots in the city. I don't even want to write this review as I want to gatekeep it. So I guess I'm saying you need to try this spot if you value really good ramen. The Tonkotsu Ramen was my choice with garlic. Staff is always nice and friendly. Inside you feel like you have been transported to Japan.

"Came here with a group of friends so we were able to order a big variety and share these entrees family style! The food was yummm and so flavorful! The staff were nice and attentive! Can't decide which was my fav but would def come back for more!"
"No frills - fabulous soul warming bowl of flavored love! Flew in late and was afraid wouldn't find anything but bar food - perfect distance from hotel, open late, cold beer and fast service with a smile! Cozy spot and huge servings - beautiful welcome to SF"
"such a cute family business - the owner is so sweet and welcoming :) haven't been back in a bit but want to go backI go with my vegan bf and we have two staples: taro buns, cold spinach salad, everything else we order varies but love these two so muchThey are very accommodating for his dietary needs and the food quality is amazing"
"The food is yummy, and sushi is fresh. The service is good. I have been here for over 10 years. The boss here also friendly"
"Food: I have tried the today's special. The portion of food is full enough. No need to grab another quick bite in the afternoon.Service: Quick and accurate. I sat down, finished the food and left the place within 20 minutes. Ambiance: a bit dark. Not a problem. This is a small business for sure. Nothing fancy."
"Went here on a Friday night at 7:30p for 2ppl with no reservation. Immediately seated at the bar and greeted by the sushi chefs. 10 piece omakase nigiri ($60) caterpillar rollhot tea house hot sake cucumber salad steamed egg service was so friendly and helpful! they offered cucumber salad while we waited and finished off our meal with steamed egg with fish eggs. Pairing everything together with sake, ginger, and tea made every bite special. Sitting at the bar was a nice intimate setting which made for the perfect date night. definitely will return"
"We came on a chilly Saturday - would rate a 3/5 KARAGE: came out so fast, I'm pretty sure that they probably just refried it a little bit. Overall was pretty good, I wish it had more salt salt/pepper. Pretty good, maybe about 10-12ish pieces. Wish it was crispier. Yeah, I got the ($13.50) TONKATSU Ramen: overall, a really rich broth, it wasn't too salty, which was really nice. There were a few pieces of bamboo in it, a good amount of noodles, and three thick pieces of Cha su pork! They're also black, fungus and green onions as well. I say it was tasty. My husband got the ($15.50) SPICY TONKATSU RAMEN, this was pretty yummy and quite garlicky. Wasn't too spicy, flavor profile was alright, the soup was rich but all the other stuff didn't really have much taste at all.Service was good, everyone was really nice and pretty timely :) Almost gives me cruise ship food vibes. But really good for the price point."
"Do not be like me and come here after a long day of not eating because you'll end up packing down a bowl for 2 meals! But also be like me if you don't mind delicious leftovers. The selection variety for the bowls here are great: they'll have most of the classic hot pot options with some few extra goodies I haven't seen elsewhere where and enjoy such as the fish tofu with cheese and mochi nuggets! With mild spice on the signature beef bone broth I could def feel a little numbing in my mouth but it's so flavorful.Their bottled drink selections were refreshing if you want a fun flavored drink like grape or pomegranate tea. Alternatively, they offer drinks on the side that are free next to the sauce bar.I'm already looking forward to my next time eating here! Definitely come with friends to bet on how much food each person will end up paying for based on the weight of their bowl."
"We ordered to go and it was Fabulous! We gotGyozasOzakaya roll Chirashi sashimi over rice Sashimi saladYakiniku Don rice bowl All were delicious and we would order all again"
"I come here often for the lunch bento special and an occasional California roll. Every time, it's A+ service and food quality. The servers are very attentive, kind and quick. I used to go to Spiral for their bento or HH/lunch. Had to wait at Spiral for over 45 minutes to get our food and they ignore us when we asked for utensils, napkins and water. Never went back since, now I go here to Yoshi. The restaurant is always very clean, there is nice decor inside and the booths are a nice touch that is not common in this area. It's a very nice, quiet and pretty atmosphere. The quality of my bentos are always great. Everything tastes fresh. I always have a plump piece of salmon. The tempura and gyoza are juicy and fried perfectly. The miso and salad have just the right flavor. $17 for all this food is a good deal for the area. Spiral is $21 and the other Japanese places around here are in the $20s+ for bentos. It is good quality and I was surprised because it's mall food. If you go inside the mall, there's a sushi conveyor belt restaurant with really poor quality and tiny portions. They don't skimp me here at Yoshi. I don't have to ask the servers for anything. You are seated right away. They bring out your order very fast. They refill your cup when it's empty. They ask you if you need anything. A+ service. I've seen them cleaning and the restaurant looks very clean whenever I am there. Also, there is no carpet. There are 3 dozen or utensils, soy sauce and napkins already on the table. I think some reviewers may be mistaken. I do usually go at lunch and they open at 11am, so maybe that's a factor. But I've come for dinner before and never had an issue."
"Visiting from LA. Had todo a lot of research when it comes to Authentic Japanese spot. And this is one of them. Their Spicy beef ramen is 10/10"
"Very special coffee place/supermarket. They have big variety of Asian products and Asian food.I was very impressed and enjoy trying some new stuff ."
"Ramen in Potrero, Torraku was once a popular food truck that has now planted itself in a nice brick and mortar location that has coffee and empanadas close by. In 2017 it was listed on SF's best food truck list and if you've been a fan they've carried over their black and red color scheme to the restaurant. The good thing is they are used to operating at high volume with fast turn around so the food comes out really fast. The menu is small but they do serve Japanese beers and sake.Shoyu Ramen: Noodles and broth were perfect and the chashu and seaweed were abnormally large, it was very tasty. For being proportional I would have loved more green onion.Spicy Miso Ramen: Perfect for warming you up on a cool SF day, it's savory with a delicate heat and thicker cut pieces of meat. Overall size may be perfect for other people but my friend and I could not finish our bowls, it seemed like we kept eating and eating and the bowl looked exactly the same so great value for the price."
"Accessibility (Parking / Wait Time)1/1 Star: street parking wasn't too bad if you're willing to walk up and down hills. No wait time. _____Service (Waiter / Cleanness / Ambiance)0/1 Star: waiter was nice but got our order wrong, ambiance was great, baby chair was dirty, restroom was dirty. _____Taste (0=Not Edible / 1=Edible / 2=Good (average) / 3=Must Try!)0/3 Stars: They served us spoiled soup! _____Overall Experience1/5 Stars _____Last WordsStay away from this microwave using restaurant!"
"Another good meal at Torraku. The tonkatsu ramen is my favorite, with the miso broth in close second. The chashu is super tender, and the pork belly is fattier, also very tender. Karage just as yummy as I remember it. $20 for a bowl of ramen. You now order and pay on your phone via QR code taped to the table. 15% gratuity is automatically charged to your order. They do have happy hour prices at certain times."
"Can not recommend this place enough. The lava ramen in spicy level Fuji is my go to. It never disappoints. The broth is so good, you could put it in a cup and I would drink it like starbucks! Update I love this place more every time I come it's the bomb!! The people here are super nice!"
"Au Sushi was a really nice surprise! It's located deep in the sleepy corner of the Diamond Heights plaza and feels like a well kept secret. My friend and I spent several minutes perusing the menu and choosing a wide variety of rolls to share amongst friends at a dinner party later. We were very impressed that each roll was made fresh and we were also very appreciative that the vegetarian rolls extended beyond basic veggie maki rolls. Our favorites of the night were the Fish Tacos (the crispy tempura seaweed base was chef's kiss), the Double Toro (soooo buttery!), and the Walnut Roll (very pleasant vegetarian twist on a dragon roll). Honestly though, everything was of really good quality. They also paid great attention to still presenting the sushi very nicely despite it being a to-go order.Pricewise, it'll probably be about $30 a person if you stick to special rolls and appetizers. Some of the specials like the chirasi bowl or chef's platter will cross $50 easily."
"I ordered a rice bowl. It was tasty. The restaurant was empty and when I walked in to pick up the food no was there to greet me. I had wait like 3 minutes until someone came out from the kitchen area to get me order. The restaurant was cute."

"I took my kid on an SF adventure tour just before the new school year started. We took the ferry into the city, the tram to to pier 39 (the sea lions are still there) and then cable car to Chinatown. After quite a lot of walking, the hunger came quickly and since I can always get her with a bowl of soup, we took a break at Ramen Hiroshi. What a treat!!! Have you ever heard a 4 year old sigh and moan over a bowl of soup? I have now. People around us were a bit bemused, but she was so into slurping and tasting, she didn't care. And I was such a proud mama!Stop by for a nice lunch and taste their absolutely amazing ramen! We also sampled some edamame and gyoza. Stellar!"
"Came here on a Friday afternoon. Checked for vaccination card before dining in. They sat us down next to the window. Restaurant was pretty empty but busy with take out. 「 O R D E R E D + V E R D I C T 」1. Karamiso Ramen Combo | $14.95: Both combos came with salad, 3pc California roll, and 2pc gyoza. Sides were good. Karamiso is a spicy miso soup base. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Perfect amount of spice. The chashu pieces were really soft and meaty. Overall 4/5. 2. Tonkatsu Ramen Combo | $14.95: The tonkatsu ramen on the other hand.. didn't look too promising. Im pretty sure pork bone broth is supposed to look milky but the broth in the ramen was clear. My friend had this and said it was aight. If you're a big ramen snob, don't get this. Overall, 3.5 stars. 11.26.2021 | Friday @12:40pm"
"I've been a long-time Ushi Taro fan so I'm excited about this new location in SoMa!Everything in their menu is exactly like their original location in Sunset. My favorite thing to get is the Spicy Ramen: spicy beef bone broth with tender beef cuts, thin mushroom slices, green onion, truffle, and egg. This ramen is perfectly spicy and you can tell that there's a lot of care that goes into making it.If you're not feeling ramen, I recommend the Gyudon or Beef Karaage. Service is amazing and quick and the location is reminiscent of traditional Japanese ramen shops, which all make the dining experience that much better. You have to try this spot out!"
"First time coming here, my husband and I didn't know what to expect. Place is small and cozy. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food came out fast also the server was very respectful.Their menu is simple yet straightforward. You definitely won't have any problem navigating and making your choices on what to order. Food was fresh and made with care. Everything was delicious! Will definitely be coming back next time but along with our kids so they can try too."
