"What a great find! Wonderful music, cocktails, and vegan food. Lots of gluten free options."
"Love the chicken tikka masala burrito at Curry Up Now! The only thing is that i'm at a food coma in the office later, lol! It's super filling and so flavorful--sometimes I even get cauliflower rice to lighten it up!"

"In a downtown, with a ramen or bubble tea shop on every block, it's nice to see an Indian inspired restaurant. I think if I went in with a more fast food mindset, I would have probably been a bit more satisfied with the meal. Sexy fries: The dish really didn't seem well thought out. The sweet potato fries were fine, but the paneer and sauce felt like it was just tossed on. Wouldn't recommend.Thali: we ordered with chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and spinach paneer. I liked how there was different variety, but the flavors of the dishes fell a bit flat. I wished the naan was chewier instead of a pita texture.Haaka noods: If you think of a standard Chinese chow mein, you'll get a decent idea for it tastes. Samosa: The best dish we ate. The pastry was hot and crispy and curried potatoes were tasty. Mango lassi: comes in a bottle so not sure if it is made fresh. Tasted fine. All in all, they try to go for a modern "cool" vibe feel, but the dishes, aside from the samosa, fell flat."
"It was the best of times it was the worse of times here in Burlingame California. While we started our vacation on a good note we ended stranded on a bad note. My husband and I had a long day from being stranded in San Francisco CA by United Airlines. We were happy at least to make the of our meal vouchers. After having a nice Korean meal down the stripe of Burlingame's little downtown area, we got to settle in for a night cap at the West Bay Restaurant bar. It was late into the evening with just a few customers watching the Giant's baseball game. We got seated right away at the booth and ordered two desserts and two drinks. My husband got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and I got a Vodka Fresh. It was one of those nights where some sweet treats and a vodka fresh was going to make the night feel calmer and better. I had their pear tartlet and my husband had their lemon sorbet it was refreshing and mine was sweet and a little rich with the tart shell being very much like pastry crust. It was good can't complain. Our server was I believe also the host he was nice and took our order when we were ready and gave us our check when we were done. We took our time having our night caps and went back upstairs to our hotel room to enjoy the rest of the evening before sleepy time, the end."
"Our group of 5 stopped by here, with two dogs, on that last Saturday when it was 100 degrees so doing anything outside would have been difficult. Still, the staff did everything they could to make sure we had a great time. The menu is a bit pricy but for the quality of food, you're getting that premium flavor too!We tried a little bit of everything including the biscuits, cornbread, baby lettuces, grilled corn, burrata and melon, spring rolls, summer hash, potato cakes and the mesquite tofu and thought that everything we ate was very very good. With 5 people and 5 different tastes, we were surprised at how collectively good everything was. I think the absolute favorites were the hash, the cornbread and the tofu which was jam packed with flavor. We'll be back!"
"Had this spot on my list of cafes to check out for a while, and was excited to finally drop in on a Saturday afternoon! First take, the space looks lovely and loved how easily you can ease in with a laptop for a couple hours of work - some cafes you feel a bit awkward about pulling out your laptop. However, admittedly I was not very impressed by the service itself. It took a few intentional checks with the staff to make sure that we got our drinks (originally, they only put out one drink out of the two we ordered, and did not even bother to check on the roll cake we had also purchased). Almost felt like I was being the inconvenience by being there to the staff. Perhaps just caught them on an off day? Would give Buoy another visit in the future to try out other items on their menu and if I need to get a bit of work in, but would aim to keep my touch points with the staff to be as minimal as possible."
"Good eats if craving Korean food. Didn't want to spend too much. Surprised to see gluten- free meat option on the menu as most often meats are marinated in soy sauce. Extra wait 10 min for braised beef gluten free.Everything is fresh and the ban chan choices were plentiful to choose from.Only thing missing is japchae! Maybe it is in rotation."
"There are a couple slices houses along Haight, but this one is my favorite. I dream about their potato garlic pizza. It's also the perfect snack when you've done the circuit of shops along Haight St. It's a generous slice for about $6-8. Not a meal, but the best snack this side of Haight. Classic NY style flat pizza. Their pepperoni and mushroom slices are also excellent. Service is fast and efficient and the staff are always friendly. Shop is clean, with some great memorabilia on the walls, especially a sweet note from some kids who used to go to EFNY as students, who are now grown (keep an eye out for it)! Note that they do charge for to-go boxes, so I personally always prepare to eat it there. It's best enjoyed hot anyway!"
"Outside dining with my husband and our fur ball recently. First impression: love the building and the beautiful murals at this place. It's spacious and would be perfect for small or large gatherings. The outside dining is lovely, especially on hot days like the ones we are having. The staff also set up an umbrella for you so you don't have the sun blasting on top of your head. The food and drinks are pretty good. All gluten free. Great chips and guacamole. The elote-style chicken wings were yummy. The rosemary lemonade is perfect for thirst-quenching. I enjoyed my fish tacos and my husband enjoyed his 3 street tacos of carnitas, pollo asado, and steak.Dog-friendly waitstaff gave my fur ball a bowl of water. Located on Battery and Greenwich. Steps away from Levi Strauss & Co. and Levi's Plaza Park."
"The salmon penne was so good! It was creamy and savory and hot. The bread appetizer was so fresh, we well as the sole. Amazing service and friendly staff in a cozy Italian restaurant within West Portal."
"Fantastic food, though the Cashew Curry was bland. (They almost lost a star there -- I would give 4.5 stars if I could.) The Samosa Soup was delicious, and an interesting concoction with actual Samosas chopped up in the soup. The Vegan Momos were wonderfully spicy. The Garlic Naan was the best I've ever had! Crispy and airy and chewy and super garlicky. The Mango Lassi was good as well.We were the only ones there around lunch time. They just recently opened up for lunch, so they need to get the word out. The service seemed a tad slow, which was odd since the place was empty. But they were courteous and helpful.Overall, highly recommended."

Hidden vegan gem in North Beach! SF really does vegan restaurants well. The combo plate was delicious, hearty, and savory - didn't feel like vegan food at all! I was absolutely stuffed afterwards. My friend had the empanadas, and said it tasted like a pot pie (in a good way). The kale chips are an absolute must try. They were crispy and cheesy and addicting. Would also come back here to try the reuben and corn taco, so curious about the raw menu!Sangria was also great and so was the mango cocktail. Very fresh but no frills at all. Just good drinks.Restaurant was quiet on a Tuesday night, just a few tables inside so it was quiet, but felt like a friendly neighborhood joint. The tables are close together, but we ended up chatting to our neighbors about the food and how we ended up choosing to eat there. Servers were very sweet as well.

I had a friend who raved about this place so I gave it a try because I enjoy both curry and Mexican food, and I was not disappointed!Staff was kind and remembered, my friend, which made the experience that much more pleasant. Did I mention they make curry burritos here? The decor is nice and Indian themed (though the vibe was not quite so culture focused). Anyway, it was a super cool experience and I would definitely come again!

Very interesting restaurant where the dishes all have a twist on traditional Indian cuisine. They're pretty adventururous and seem to have good ideas, but not all of the dishes turn out well. The Tikka masala burrito was good, but we felt that it would've been better enjoyed as a traditional dish, with naan on the side. The tandoori fried chicken sandwich on the other hand was pretty good, but didn't get too much of the tandoori flavours and felt more like a traditional chicken sandwich. Though promising, I think they need some more time to refine their menu items so that they get to showcase delicious Indian cuisine in innovate forms!

Good service. The Asian man in the front is always moving and checking people in. Checking on tables and serving food. I would just say if you paid for free breakfast for two just confirm. They didn't have us on the list, so he had to call to confirm. Almond butter was ok. The sunrise entree was good. We liked the bacon, potatoes, and toasts.

Second time coming here. First time we tried,we didn't have reservations. Didn't realize that this place was that popular. If you're planning on coming here, I recommend getting reservations. Most of the people were casually dressed. We started off with the smoked cheddar and chive biscuits and the ginger scones. A nice combination of sweet and savory. The jalapeno butter had just enough of a kick,so as not to be overpowering. Our group tried the mushroom pizza, the potato griddle cakes, the hash, and for dessert the lemon curd french toast. Definitely a step up for a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Such a wide variety of different options. Looking forward to our next visit

Updated with more photos, including half of the charming alcove. :) (I couldn't get a photo of the other half since there were people sitting there who probably didn't want to be in a photo posted online.)The Ssuk and Black Sesame Einspanner are soooo good. They both had a nice, strong flavor and thick cream on top. The raspberry and red bean roll cakes were delicious too.

Swung by this place for lunch. They have a decent menu option for you to build your own bowl. My only con is that they could have added a bit more rice. It's white rice, would it really hurt the $$ to add a bit more? Pros... it's delicious ! The bulgogi was well seasoned. You get three small add-ons that taste perfect! The kitchen, radish, and brocoli were all just a perfect addition! I'll be going back for sure !

One of the first things you'll notice about this place is that the pizza slices are freakin huge ! Because of that though, I think I remember them costing about $6-$7 a slice, which I still think is kind of a lot because you can get a giant slice of pizza from Costco for like a 1/3 of that price. In any case, they did have unique toppings that you don't really see much anywhere else. There also is not much indoor or outdoor seating and the decoration is somewhat grunge-y. Service was okay, just people trying to do their job. However, even with little seating, they are somewhat close to Golden Gate Park. You could get some slices to go and then picnic in the park or something. I don't think I personally would come back to the city for this as I no longer live in SF, but if my husband and I were passing through and he were craving pizza, I would totally try to stop by this place again !

"I just chronicled my utensil-free experience with this operation under the entry for their joint salad partner, Saucy Greens (review: https://bit.ly/3ZyV3AR). In brief, the shop at the corner of Leavenworth and Union is a bustling spot for delivery services and local residents. I came here to try a salad bowl, but I was also drawn to the menu of this business because c'mon, soup and salad...That's an inevitable combo. Truth be told, I was probably enamored more with Soupchu's menu than Saucy Greens'. I decided on the comfy-cozy $10.50 Chicken Bone Broth Soup which was chock full of couscous, carrot, celery, lemon, fresh dill, and shards of fresh chicken breast (photo: https://bit.ly/3YIpMKr). Sure, it was deliciously homestyle and plentiful in portion. It went well with the Vibrant Salad I got from Saucy Greens. However, the absence of a spoon made it a challenge. The problem was that they forgot my utensils despite my asking them. I had rolled downhill to Francisco Park and basically had no energy to go back up. Once I pleaded for a spoon at a cafe on Polk, I finally found a place to eat my soup. Remind me to bring my spork next time.FOOD - 4 stars...soup that would shame your motherAMBIANCE - n/a...not really relevant hereSERVICE - 3 stars...nice but not coordinated TOTAL - 4 stars...I'd come back for the soups and stews...I'll bring my spork next timeRELATED - Exploring Russian Hill? "When I want to eat something healthy and fast, my go-to for this is Kitava, and they have two locations. The SF location is next to the 16th Street BART station, which used to be a McDonald's. The space has a lot of seating and is bright, warm, and inviting. Everything on the menu is prepared using whole food ingredients which are gluten-free, dairy-free, peanuts-free, and soy-free. One of the oils they use is Palm oil, and this sometimes bothers my digestive system. I am a fan of the sesame chicken bowl ($16), and the evolved caesar salad ($10, which is a more affordable dup. of the vegan caesar salad at Rad Radish). If you have celiacs or any autoimmune disease(s), this place is a must."
"We always come back to this Ike's location. Prices are still good for what you get and the consistency of the sandwiches is what brings us back every time. The staff are always friendly and pick up is a breeze. Even when we have to wait a bit, it's because this location is packed which is a good thing others enjoy is as much as we do. We don't eat there but it's nice they offer tables for those that do or to sit and wait. We also love the loyalty cards they offer which keeps us coming back."
"We like these subs, we added extra lettuce and extra tomatoes, love the sourdough roll breads, fresh ingredients everything looks good to us. We will come back and try other sandwiches in the future. Reasonable price! Recommend this place"
"It's been awhile since we were last here & so my tastebuds were craving for some good eats. We ordered the same thing as last time, butterchicken, Salmon tandoori, buttered naan & basmati rice. This time we decided to order Mango Lassi & it was delicious! We received papadum, crispy lentil wafers with 3 unique sauces which are very flavorful. Everything is soo good. The butter chicken, my favorite is soo savory especially with naan. The succulent tandoori salmon is a must! On our next visit I want to order new items, being set on mulligatawny soup & eggplant fritters. As for service- pleasant, very welcoming & attentive. I also wanted to mention our last visit, we ordered chicken Tikka masala & it is divine! And again next visit, we'll try other delicious goodies!"
"A new hidden gem in SF, Basil Cart will leave you on a flavour journey to be remembered!I ordered from Grubhub, and this restaurant was a new option and I'm happy to support new businesses! Other reviews are pretty accurate, as I had a great experience ordering here. They currently have specials on Grubhub which enticed me to try them out but for the quality and flavour it's well worth it regularly. The delivery was timely and the owner included a hand written note, which was a nice touch and shows how much effort they put into their business!I tried the Pad Thai, Green Curry and Yellow Curry. The Pad Thai was very flavourful all around for some authentic flavour. It came with some peanuts and lime for garnish and was very fresh! Had some green onion and beansprouts as well, which I would have liked more of but not a big deal. The dish was also lined with a leaf (not sure what it's called) but also adds to the authenticity. The Yellow Curry had a lot of unique flavourness and rich body. Chunks of carrots and potatoes permeate the dish for some added richness as well which balances out the curry nicely. The Green curry is probably my favourite, as it also had a very rich body and taste as well. The bamboo shoots give a nice crispness to balance out the thick curry, but the flavour is the amazing point. A slight sweetness provides an upside to every bite, and combined with the slight spiciness and texture of the eggplant gives an awesome curry that's not too heavy and should go well with just about anything! The rice was perfect to my preference as well, as it was not soggy so that it goes well with curry. Very fragrant and fresh! All the portions sizes were great, so if you're looking for a nice flavourful and filling meal to satisfy your Thai cravings this is the place!"
"A delicious little spot nestled amongst the hustle and bustle of Fisherman's Wharf. I came here twice during my short stay in San Francisco, it was simply that delicious. The staff were kind and the service was quick, 10/10, do recommend!"
"Came by for Sunday lunch with a friend and enjoyed the experience! I had the Togarashi 2.0 with mixed legumes, and it was so delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, and everything was perfectly seasoned. The overall meal tasted so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The waiter was also very kind and provided us with cucumber infused water. Would definitely return again!"
"Avocado toast with salt is divine! A place of this caliber should follow city law requiring receptacles for compost and recycling. You can do better!"
"incredible vibes here at eagle pizzeria!! we came into the restaurant 5 minutes after closing for 7 people and the owner still let us sit down. the pizzas we got were named after his daughter and wife, and they were both delicious! such a classic pizza place with great food and wonderful people. when the top keyword is "owner", you know he's truly a gem"
"Great spot for a healthy delicious meal. Order in advance as the food is fresh and takes time. Great Kabobs, Hummis and salads. The Bite is a hidden gem, offering fresh, delicious, and healthy Mediterranean cuisine. I highly recommend ordering in advance, as their dishes are made to order and take a little extra time to prepare.I've tried their kabobs, hummus, and salads, all were delicious. If you're looking for a healthy and satisfying meal, The Bite is definitely worth checking out."
"Truly authentic German food in a laid-back, no-fuss spot where you can count on a hearty meal. Order the schnitzel and sausages, they never miss. Their beer list is top-notch (and the cider is a hidden gem). We've come here multiple times with friends, and it's always a great hangout."
"Oh my goodness! This place was amazing! If we lived closer we would eat here all the time! Everything we ordered was so flavorful from the green beans with tofu to the tea leaf salad to the coconut rice. What I was especially impressed by was their tea leaf salad...I didn't expect a kale based salad but it was AMAZING and I was surprised to find that I even prefer it this way. Highly recommend!"
"Amazing gf df rose pistachio cake, great service and communication and the cake was delicious, moist, visually gorgeous and out of this world!! Would definitely order again and again!"
"fantastic cheese pull! The ambiance is quick and quaint. The service is fast. You will be happy you found this gem in the Castro."
"Another great meal at Sugandh. We started with the complimentary pappadum with 3 dips. Then, our mains were chicken korma, butter chicken, lamb biryani, saag paneer and bhindi masala. We also had plain nan and basmati rice.We thought everything was flavorful without being too spicy hot. Service was excellent. We always enjoy seeing customers who look like they lived in India eating here."
"Such a cute spot in San Mateo!! Their piroshkis and empanadas were the perfect and tasty snack for my daughter and I. We paired them with an iced Mocha and their iced Matcha latte."
