"Stumbling upon XOX Truffles while meandering down the street was a serendipitous delight. This charming, practically hidden gem, instantly drew me in with the smell of chocolate and coffee. And oh, am I glad it did!XOX Truffles is a haven for chocolate enthusiasts. With every truffle I've tasted here, and I've indulged in every single variety they offer, the experience has been nothing short of extraordinary. These truffles aren't just delicious; they're an exploration of intriguing and fun flavors, each a testament to the art of fine chocolate making. I always grab a coffee when I go by here, if for no other reason than to snag the free truffle you get with every coffee. The coffee complements the truffles wonderfully, but that free truffle is a delicious trap, as I've never just gotten one truffle on my visits to XOX. The place is quite small, tucked into a tiny little store front, but the staff is incredibly welcoming. You will often find the owner behind the counter. He is both charming and knowledgeable on all things chocolate. This little shop is a must visit destination for any chocolate lover."
"I booked Z. Cioccolato for a team bonding event. We did the private chocolate making class and wine pairing. They hosted it at the wine bar around the corner (cool spot!). The chocolate tasting class with Chef Thomas was great! He was entertaining, taught us about chocolate and techniques, and we each got to make our own chocolates to take home. I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients as well as the amount of chocolate we made. I actually ended up taking it to a family dinner to share with some family and friends. This was the perfect team event that I didn't know existed, and it was a lot more fun than just going to a bar for happy hour. I would 10/10 recommend this experience."
"Cute little gem in Burlingame. So happy to see something been here for so long is still here. Many shops have changed on broadway but I'm glad Preston was able to make it through the pandemic. Their ice cream is really good here. We got the tiramisu flavor and honey comb. Service is really good too. This is the best place to go after dinner. If you're craving for a nice ice cream."
"While pregnant I was always on the hunt for the perfect hot chocolate. My husband and I even did a hot chocolate crawl throughout the East Bay with a rating system of different core elements we were looking for in the perfect cup. I must say as soon as I thought I was going to throw in the towel, I found what I had been searching for my entire pregnancy and it wasn't in the form of a hot chocolate, rather in the form of a "frozen" hot chocolate. With "cocoa nib" whipped cream, this is, and was, everything. In my honest opinion, the best in the bay! To be fair, we did try the house hot chocolate as well to check it off our box ~ creamy yet smooth, rich but not too sweet, robust but not complex. Ahhh, I can tasteit now!I tried this at the Ferry Building grab and go location..with the holidays coming up, I can't wait to get back there to keep a new tradition going. With a few other larger spots around SF (factory on 16th), I can't wait to explore more of their menu like the Banana Chocolate Milk, S'more (marshmallow is toasted upon order), Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Canele. Would love to even do a chocolate tour or class, how fun!Where is your favorite cup of hot (or frozen) chocolate in the Bay? Have I not tried them all?"
"BIPOC-owned homemade truffle spot in the Castro -I was on the hunt for gorgeous chocolates for my adopted mom here in San Francisco and decided to give Five Star Truffles a visit.I was greeted with a smile by Santo when I arrived and was impressed by the variety of Truffles. I ended up going with a variety of the non-liquor kind and got a Grand Marnier one for me for the road. The box is super cute and, honestly, you will not find a better price and value for chocolates here in the city. Give them a try!"

A Sweet Escape in North BeachEven though I am not a big chocolate fan, I have been a happy customer of XOX Truffles for years. I love their truffles and coffee. This small, sweet shop is one of my favorite places in North Beach, San Francisco.Jean-Marc Gorce, the owner and main truffle maker, is very friendly and takes great care of his customers. His love for chocolate began in his childhood. He and his brother Ludvic would always search their home for their mother's hidden sweets, sometimes even mischievously blaming each other when caught. This childhood passion led him to a lifelong dedication to creating fine and delicious truffles. At XOX Truffles, Jean-Marc combines his mother's classic recipe with his own unique flavors, creating various delights for everyone to enjoy. The truffles here are amazing. Each one is a perfect mix of rich chocolate and creative flavors, showing Jean-Marc's skill and love for his work. Whether you like classic flavors or want to try something new, XOX Truffles has over twenty different kinds to choose from. One of my personal favorites is the raspberry flavor. The coffee at XOX is also wonderful, making it a perfect place for a cozy afternoon. The friendly atmosphere and personal touch from the boss and his staff make every visit pleasant. I highly recommend XOX Truffles to anyone looking for a great chocolate experience in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood.Oh, by the way, with every coffee, you get your choice of a bonus truffle. So, what are you waiting for?!

Such a cute sweets shop! They have lots of barrels full of candy you may not be able to find elsewhere. It smells amazing inside and the staff were so friendly. They also do samples of the fudge and they were so good I ended up purchasing 2 slices. The fudge is so soft and rich and there are so many flavors to choose from! The chocolate caramel sea salt and latte were divine. Highly recommend swinging by if you're in the area!!

I have been going to Preston's for the last 36 years! It really hasn't changed one bit, and most of the ice cream flavors are the same as when I was a child. I used to love the bubblegum ice cream with pieces of bubblegum in it. They still serve this flavor after all these years! I love their mango ice cream, but my absolute favorite is the raspberry swirl with chocolate hard shell in a cup. Yum! Oh and the service is great!

Cute chocolate shop but also don't sleep on their coffee. I love that they have a clear display of their dessert offerings with descriptions. The chocolate canele is so good. A good crust on the outside and so custardy on the inside. There is a wall of chocolates from different origins. You can try them before committing to a whole bar. Perfect for a picky eater like me. I found me perfect bar today and I'm very happy~This is an amazing chocolate place but they also have great coffee. I was so frustrated at other coffee places' lines and saw Dandelion serves coffee. So I ordered a Cappuccino. It's a great cappuccino. Strong but smooth. It also comes with a short bread in a little pocket. Such a cute touch and very tasty!Have to stop by here every time at the ferry building and pick up a chocolate for later~

A flat croissant place in the Bay Area? Never would I have thought that that would be a thing. After seeing this place on social media, I just knew I needed to give this place a shot. Aesthetically, they're beautiful for flat pieces of croissant bread. It's like super crispy, flaky, and it literally tastes like a crunchy croissant. With the addition of the fruity flavors and chocolate flavor, the croissants literally taste like a pocky stick which I actually thought was delightfully good and whimsical. The mango and strawberry croissants ones were definitely some of my favorites. The fruitiness definitely cuts into the butteriness of the croissant, and it was slightly tart which I also liked! The chocolate hazelnut and matcha croissant were alright. But that's just me being biased. As much as I thought that this was a cool experience, it's also pretty gimmicky as well. I would definitely choose a regular croissant over this any day. But at the end of the day, if you wanna try a unique croissant place, Alexander's Patisserie should definitely be added to your list.

The sweetest and perfect little desserts! I love love their brigadeiros. So amazing not too sweet, not too sticky, they're just perfect. I love that they are a factory and hand make their own items. I have also tried their cookies and they are also incredible. Amazing family owned business!

TLDR: Below average ice cream. Waterfront markup $$.8/1/21 Sunday ~1:30pmWorth a visit? Not for the ice cream.Worth a dedicated trip? NoWorth the price ($6.25)? NoScoring Weight: 100% Food, 0% Other.Food:72% Dark Chocolate Ice Cream w/ sugar cone (2.0/5) $6.25Single scoop on a sugar cone. Disappointing. Tasted like your average grocery-store-tier chocolate. The expected bitterness of 'dark' chocolate didn't come through at all. Tasted like you average Blue Bunny, Dryers Choco ice cream. Below Ben & Jerries-tier.Store had a huge selection of prepackaged and fresh chocolate treats. Good amount of ice cream selection, but they couldn't even nail a dark chocolate scoop. Bad look when you're called the SF chocolate store and ~$7 for the smallest scoop. It's ice cream. It won't be terrible. But you can hit the B&Js and Dryers stores around Pier 39 for same or better quality. Hopefully some of their other chocolate desserts are better.Other:* Bathrooms: No* Parking: Standard for Pier area ($$ private garages)

"3.5 STARSFriend: "What's that?"Me: "A 2D croissant."Friend: "Looks like someone sat on it. Hope they didn't fart on it."Me: *SNIFF TEST*Spending hours painstakingly creating beautifully laminated layers only to *SMASH* it seems sacrilegious to a French croissant. But, this became a viral trend in Korea last year which has now come to The Bay. Introducing the 2D Korean-inspired: Croissant Nurungi aka Flat Croissant....They're available at Alexander's Pâtisserie (Cupertino & Mountain View). 4 flavors: Plain, strawberry, mango, and chocolate ($6-$6.50 each). * Plain ($6) // 3 stars * Strawberry ($6.50) // 4 stars : http://tinyurl.com/mr28h3n3Gimmicky? Fo'Sho...imo. Low key reminds me of palmiers (cookies), the 2D croissants were crunchy and flaky with a buttery, slightly caramelized sweetness. Not as sugary as palmiers. After several bites, the plain one became monotonous. The strawberry chocolate + dehydrated strawberries was much better. The creamy pleasant tartness perfectly complemented the butteriness.Pairs well with tea + coffee. Overall, the 2D croissants were fine and I may get one again when I'm craving a bougie palmier but def seems like another social media novelty trend. Gotta try things for yourself tho. Rounding down because of my other experiences at this pâtisserie. I'm a fan of their steakhouse but I find their desserts look better than they taste (for my taste preferences). Also, on one visit, the macarons and truffles I purchased were stale.OTHER NOTES:* Hidden behind Pacific Catch's storefront.* Much smaller than their MV location with a limited selection. * Hot tea + coffee available. No matcha tho which is disappointing considering their brand has Japanese influences. * Tock: Cake Pre-Orders + Afternoon Tea Rezzies * Afternoon Tea ($65 pp) in partnership with Claude Le Tohic and SF's ONE65 is available on the patio. Includes fresh seasonal assortment of pastries, macarons, sandwiches, chocolates, tea, and coffee.* Outdoor patio seating only (dog-friendly)."
"6.14.2024 - A little pick me up.After a morning of volunteer work, a friend brings a group of us to try Tiny B Chocolate.A hole in the wall, super cute chocolatier with its own factory. You would never guess that there was a chocolate factory serving Brazilian chocolate and gluten free cookies.I forget her name, but the owner gave all of samples of the gluten free cookies along with their variety of fudge. I never knew gluten free cookies can taste so good. Surprisingly, it didn't have any weird texture. And given that it's gluten free, it made it less heavy and more healthy! The star of the show was their homemade spreads! Packed in little glass jars, these are just glass full of happiness. From chocolate to coconut to passion fruit and salted caramel. It is a bit on the pricier side, but you pay for what you get. $5 per cookies, $2.50 per truffle and $16 per jar of delicious spread.I would just come back for their spread. They offer 25% off on your first online order. Also can book a chocolate making session. Whether it be an activity with kids, a bachelorette party, a girls day/night out, romantic date day - whatever the occasion, TBC will happily host! It's already on my anniversary gift list for my husband and for a besties day."
"Store was beautiful but really I'm here just to talk about the homemade ice cream. It was absolutely stunning and a must try for anyone in San Fran. I had the strawberry cheesecake and whoa, what flavor in such a small cone."
"Learned about Kokak Chocolates from my boss. Many of the truffles and chocolates focus on tropical and Asian flavors. They also have hot chocolate and champorado. I had their classic champorado today as a rainy day treat. It was delicious! It was chocolaty and thick. I liked the coconut and these crispies that added a nice texture. The portion was just right. It looks small at first but the rice is filling. Any bigger and I would've been stuffed. I've had their hot chocolate and truffles before and they're so yummy! The truffles are a lot of flavor in a bite. The space has bar seating and a few tables. And everyone there is so nice! Definitely check this place out for delicious chocolates for yourself and as gifts."
"Couldn't be happier with the level of service I received at Dandelion Chocolate on Fillmore st. I was greeted with a warm welcome and a selection of delicious chocolates to choose from. The lighting, store layout, and chocolate display were perfection. Just a great overall experience, thanks!Anthonyxibarrax"
