Delicious...Edge to edge, the inside of this donut is bursting with at least a 1/4 cup of delicious fruit preserves. You may never have had a jelly donut as good! Their sandwiches are great, made to order, the coffee will have your eyebrows arch ("Man, that's a great cup of coffee!)It's clean, the staff is pleasant and organized, prices are reasonable. I don't know how they put together everything so quickly and ring you up. One of my favorite businesses in San Francisco, try it!"

Over the years the prices have gone up, a lot...OK fine, but at the same time, the sandwiches seem to have gotten smaller and they no longer provide any chips for free...so not fine. It also happens all too frequently that something key is missing on a salad like avocado for instance...also not fine for when you are paying downtown SF salad prices in the Sunset district."

Sonia G. "Great neighborhood coffee and brunch spot. We went when it was super crowded. We ordered but had to wait for the indoor tables to clear up before we sat down. Then, once we grabbed a table, I had to let the front know that we sat down so they can make and deliver our food. We waited for about 15-20 min for a table to clear. Food came immediately once we sat down but we had to remind staff that we ordered a mimosa as well. Beyond the logistics of sitting down to eat and getting your drink, the food was AMAZING! I enjoyed every bit."

Sandwich was good, potato salad was a little over-dressed, and the fruit was fresh and delicious. The staff were pleasant, decor is cute (especially the bathroom). As I was leaving, I smelled something cinnamon-y like French toast... smelled so good. A little expensive at $20 (i live in Sac, so that might just be a standard price for SF), but otherwise a nice little spot."

"Came to burn some time and get caffeine before our kids school event, we came because of the high reviews and the proximity. It's a neighborhood coffee place, locals are sitting inside and outside. I've never seen this before; super comfortable customers leave money on the counter and walk behind the counter to get coffee for themselves.Cappuccino: Milk was not frothed great and coffee was not good. Tasted like something you would get out of a machine with a button for "cappuccino" on it.breakfast bagels: These took really long to make, we ordered two and they took 20 minutes to be finished. These are made way faster at local donut places. Egg in mine was crazy hot like it was nuked in the microwave and super tall and hard to eat. We did like the toasted bagel, nice crispy outside and soft inside. As we were leaving we saw a customer pulling used coffee cup sleeves out of the trashcan, folding them back flat, and putting them back into the sleeves tray!"

It's much nicer inside now and the service has even improved. Barista Faith was on duty on Sunday when I visited to see Rick Sanders play his awesome loop show. Faith greeted every customer with a smile, good eye contact, and friendly service. I ordered an ice mocha. Now, usually when I order an iced mocha at a coffee shop, some bored human will dump some coffee, ice, milk, and chocolate syrup in my glass and take my money. But Faith did not simply make me an iced mocha. She CRAFETD it. And it was great! The Chit Chat could still use a bit of TLC, especially those ugly ceiling tiles, but it has once again become the cozy community hub that we all love. I will visit more often."

One of the staff members recommended the Salsa Seca with Jalapeño Spread. Salsa Seca translates to "dry salsa" and the bagel has a really nice kick to it! They use Sierra Nevada Cheese handmade Gina Marie Cream Cheese, roasted jalapeños and salt to season it. It's thick and creamy! One of the best bagels I've ever had, just fantastic, 5/5 stars!I would HIGHLY recommend this small business and we'll definitely be returning next time we hit up one of their farmer's markets or check out their store front! Midnite Bagel sold its first bagel in 2018. They are more healthier, easier to digest and have a great shelf life, compared to other bagels! SYOY! :-)"

Alison H. "We've been wanting to try this place for a minute. Every time we walk by it looked so delicious from the window. Unfortunately, the dream was better than reality and we were so disappointed by the experience. To be very honest, it was the worst bagel I've ever had. Price is affordable for a bagel and cream cheese, but it is just so dang hard to chew. We tried the sesame and the everything bagels with lox cheese. The everything bagel in particular was so salty and extremely chewy; we started taking turns with our bagels just to give the other some rest from chewing this thing. I also noticed they skimp out on the cream cheese. Most places give you cream cheese with a side of bagel, and I was sad to see it isn't the standard here. Service was fantastic though, really kind people. They're the only reason why it's 2 stars rather than 1. Really wish I could say better things, but we likely won't be back."

There is no comparison to New York bagels; these are San Francisco bagels. So why compare? These are chewy inside with a nice crust on the outside. They have a great variety of flavors. I usually choose raisin and everything. Don't miss the pastries on the left; they look great. However, I opt for the bagels each time. Next visit! The shop offers many flavors of cream cheese; strawberry is delicious. Egg and cheese on a bagel is on my list to try.Besides the bagels, the stars are the people who work there. There is an indoor seating in the back if you want a place to sit and eat your bagel otherwise there's also a few coffee shops down the street that have benches if you're in the mood for that. I haven't had a good bagel in San Francisco in a while and honestly, this is my new favorite. I am a savory bagel kind of gal so I opted for the garlic bagel with chive cream cheese and I like some crunch so I got cucumbers. The bagel was so good. The ingredients are well spread and portioned, pico de gallo is wrapped in the burrito, and the tortilla is great. Every bite contributes to the greater whole and you get some of everything in each mouthful. The only place I can think of in the bay area that is as good is rose donuts in San Jose. I saved half for my wife because I wanted her to try it and when she saw how large it was she told me she would only eat a couple bites and I could have the rest. She ended up shooing me away and killing the whole thing.Got a brewed coffee as well, it was OK. Breakfast burrito so good happy donuts deserves the full 5 stars."

There are menus posted outdoors, as well as indoors, and you can essentially build your own bagel with a selection of bagel types, cream cheeses, and additional ad ins like lox. Walk in and order near the back end of the counter. This part of the space is more rectangular with not too much space, but the orders are prepared quickly. Go further into the back and it opens up into an outdoor dining space which is really nice. The garlic bagel was very fresh with big chunks of garlic baked into the dough. Texture was soft yet also firm. Got this bagel with cream cheese, which was generously loaded on making it well worth the more premium cost that the bagel is."
