Burlingame Market

My new favorite grocery! This place is a pleasant change from the big grocery stores -- it makes shopping so much more fun. They have a huge selection of products -- from produce to meats, to imported items, to spices. Where else can you get kumquats? Or imported Irish bacon? Prices are great too! And the owner, Tom, is usually around if you have any questions.I highly highly highly recommend anyone living in the Burlingame area to consider Burlingame Market to be your primary grocery.

I like international markets like this for the variety of things I can't as by find at most stores. They have plenty of produce, spices, tea and more. What I really like is they have frozen pelmeni with different flavors. I had the beef just boil them up, add some butter, sour cream and dill. Delicious! Lots of different things like this plus they make sandwiches and more. It's nice to have a store like this in the area for more variety.

Priviet, Zukas! This place has a lot of great Russian/Slavic treats and some middle eastern items. Honestly, I would like to see more. It's a little bit on the pricey side so don't expect to get a deal. This is more for specialty items you can't find a lot of places so it's understandable they have to import them and raise price a little. Cashier is Olga. She is Ukrainian lady and I always get to practice my broken Russian with her and then she always asks me where I'm from and I always repeat same "ya meksikanskaya amerikanskaya! Lol

This is my favorite place to shop for produce. They have an excellent selection of reasonably-priced produce. As soon as you walk into this place, you can feel that happy fresh produce feeling. Though I have yet to compare prices for all the produce I usually buy, it several items are less, and some are far less, than shopping at Safeway. I especially like their selection of apples, oranges, an array of roots and fruits and all sorts of things. Depending on the time of year, you can find papayas and dragon fruits too. This is where you will find new things almost every time you go. Fresh basil, mint, almonds other roasted nuts, dried fruits. Fresh hummus. Explore this place. The people who work there, from the cashiers to the stockpeople, are helpful and friendly. Even the bread selection is excellent, with some local vendors, and other treasures. Their freezer section also has some hard-to-find items. Really, all I can say, is this is a place to explore. Sure, buy your staple items, but try a new fruit, or a new cookie. whatever you like.Tip: there is a juice/acai bar in the store too. So you can fuel up while you plan your shopping.

Really nice high end market. Everything is clean and fresh here. They have a lot of fresh bread and focaccia in the front and a good selection of coffee too.There's also an acai and smoothie bar.Bring your own bag because they charge for that. I found a lot of ingredients to make ravioli and spaghetti here. They have sauces and pasta in the freezer. This is super convenient since I don't cook.They also have hummus and other stuff here too.Great high end little market with fresh produce and short lines!

Been living in the town over and never knew this place was here, but recently discovered it and wow. Just wow. Everything you'd want and more. Not just produce and tinned goods from all over the world, but also alai bowls and freshly made smoothies and juices. This is bomb, with all sorts of cheeses and exotic fruits, e.g. pink guavas! No, they're not the same as your garden variety guavas, they have a richer deeper more succulent and juicy flavor/texture. If you ge the chance, snag theme ASAP. A word of warning: I saw these potato chips in truffle, and another in cured cheese and another in garden herb, which were billed as "artisan," and because I never saw a chip I could resist, I bought all three varieties. After I got home, I tasted the cured cheese, which ended p being my favorite, such a deep flavor of cheese, and idly began reading the back of the package (because if there's print, my eye is a magnet laser going toward it), and to my shock and absolute HORROR, I read, this product has been known to cause cancer .... Blah blah blah. Shit, I just realized I should've taken a photo of it, to show you, but I was so appalled I spit pout the chips in my mouth, a projectile spit onto my plate. These chips are imported from either Spain or Mexico and pass the standards there, but not in the U.S., or is it specifically CA? Not sure, but they had to put that warning on that bag. I threw away all the other bags, and now that I think of it, I should've taken it back to get money back. The place his huge with an infinite variety of foodstuffs, all of it fresh and the prices are fair. Parking is also awesome because it's not so much a thoroughfare as Burlingame Avenue.

This market has so much potential to be great! It's very convenient in location and they do have some good produce HOWEVER, the cashier is so rude and condescending. This is my third interaction with her and each time she has been very snarky and rude. From comments of telling me how I should bag my produce to correcting me for asking a simple question. The first two times I blew it off thinking everyone has an off day or days.. but it being the third time, i can't make excuses to keep coming here. someone should speak to her because it's really no anyway to treat t a customer or anyone in general.

Awesome market, good selection of middle eastern grocery items. Produce can be hit or miss, need to pick carefully.Good prices, really convenient, very nice staff. Smoothies are also great.

Good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and international items too. I really like their juice and smoothie bar inside the shop. They serve all different types of Açaí bowls too. Friendly staff!

Very poor costumer service. Sold a moldy bread to us and when I went back and showed him a picture he said I should've brought it back right away. Obviously not shopping here anymore.
