I walked in to ask a simple question -- about whether they held karaoke that day -- and ended up dealing with a bartender who tried to patronize me, make sarcastic statements, and argue over the most trivial and subjective points, demonstrating some bizarre need for dominance... all within the first 60 seconds. If it matters, this was the middle-aged black guy who works on Fridays, though from reading some of the other Yelp reviews, being a rude prick seems to be representative of their staff's character in general. Some other things I noticed:-They lack a phone-They've supposedly existed for decades, yet have only 22 Yelp reviews-I was the only patron in the room who wasn't both white and over 50 (maybe that's by design)

This is a really nice bar that has good beers and mixed drinks at very fair prices. The bartenders are always pleasant. Incredibly, they have quality musicians playing on the weekends and they don't have a cover charge. I love this place and can't imagine anyone not having a good time here. Lots of Grateful Dead style and jazz played here! Tip the musicians.

Bartender made a horrible drink (Tito's Punch) and expected me to drink it. When I showed her a picture of how drink supposed to look like - she made a rude comment - " well you didn't even taste it" and snatched dirty looking drink. The 2-3 member live band seemed very loud and added to bad experience. Not friendly and bartenders are very basic with no knowledge of craft cocktails (no fresh ingredients). Totally sucked and will never go back. No stars

Since Frances left the BI, this local favorite bar of mine is slipping back to its old bad habits and habitants. I'm a long time resident and it saddens me. It also frequently doesn't open on time and the drinks are basic along with the energy. No more craft cocktails. Hey, and I like a whiskey and a shot too but it's losing charm by the weekend. What a shame after all the time and effort spent to revive it that the owners couldn't get their act together and although Frances has strong opinions that may not have meshed well with one or both of the owners he is a professional and really was their best bet at becoming sustainable and evolving along with Brisbane. I've been standing waiting to have a quick Friday beer after a long week and at least 3 people have tried opening their locked doors. It's almost 4:30pm. Maybe they changed their hours? Regardless it's almost turned the corner for good ... to becoming a sad place that lost it bit of edgy sophistication. Go see it before the doors are closed again. It's just a matter of time until the premium liquor bottles are empty, the are watered down, and drugs are being sold in the bathroom again.

A bit of history reopened in Brisbane with the casual sophistication of a great cocktail lounge. I am beyond stoked about this place! Soft opening was just this past Friday of labor day weekend. They apparently were packed shoulder to shoulder. Couldn't be happier for them. This is SO just what our town needed. The new owners managed to recruit a very knowledgeable bartender/craftsman who had very thoughtfully curated the most awesome "historical cocktails" list I've ever seen. Each cocktail on his list starts with the date it was first created, going all the way back to the early 1800s. But besides just the date, the friendly cocktail connessiur will share with you the whole history of the drink that you are about to (surely) enjoy. If there's something not on his list that you desire, he WILL make it for you. If there are options of HOW to prepare your drink of choice, he will ask what YOU prefer, not tell to how it "should" be. (Tho a simple blind taste test would do you just fine for navigating your way through his thoughtfully prepared menu!)If cocktails are not your thing, they are also serving LOCAL CRAFT BEERS FROM NEARBY BREWERIES as well!! And there's a really nice "mocktails" list for non drinkers, and also a great wine list. This fine establishment is decorated wall to wall with animal heads of all kinds, much like an old hunting lodge. I believe the heads belonged to the father or grandfather of the owner if I'm not mistaken. DEFINITELY WORTH CHECKING OUT! :))

THIS BAR ROCKS!!! NO COVER, NO DRESS CODE, FREE PARKING, SMALL TOWN CHARM & A WELL STOCKED BAR!!! My husband has been a regular at this bar for years. About a year ago he talked me into joining him for a few drinks with his friends one Friday night... After that one visit, I totally fell in love with this bar and everyone in it!!! There are about 5 bartenders that rotate through out the week, all absolutely amazing and very personable. (I'm always greeted with a big "Hello Cassandra"). Patrons definitely range in age from the "finally legals" to the "I've been here as long as this bar has"... LoL And despite the age differences, everyone pretty much gets along for the most part. :-) Everyone has a story to tell, and best believe if you have the time and patience, you're bound to here them all! The Brisbane Inn is definitely in the category of a "small town" bar, most of the bar patrons are locals, hence everyone knows everyone there... Music varies depending on who put the last dollar in the Juke box, so on any given night, the play list can go from Bon Jovi to Mariah Carey to the Rolling Stones to Johnny Cash to Tupac and so on. Yes, there are more than a few "stuffed" animals throughout the bar, they're not going anywhere, so might as well get use to them being around. Although they make adequate party guests and decorations... LoL (I have a great pic of one of the Bucks all decked out and in a party hat for NYE) ;-) This bar has been more then hospitable as well as accommodating to me over the past year. They generously let me host/have 3 parties here, my birthday, my husband's & friend's joint birthday as well as our 5th anniversary. Each party they let me decorate the crap out of the bar; from the tables to the chairs, to the entry to the bathrooms, to the hallways, above the bar, below the bar, I hung lights, huge banners outside, brought in tons of food... They even humored me and honored some "drink specials" I thought would be cool to add to the party atmosphere! Let's just say this bar went above and beyond any hospitality I had ever expected to receive. Thank you. :-)Well to basically sum this up... 1. Small town bar 2. Good people (many are "regulars") 3. Reasonably priced drinks 4. And a great place to kick back, people watch & have a drink or two!Quick note- Best time to go is on a Friday night, on a payday weekend (of course), and when Brisbane is enjoying their typical concealed great weather!

A classy dive. As soon as me and my homeboy Clarence walked in to the tunes of Frank Sinatra playing on the jukebox. Instantly this dive turned into an sophisticated drinking establishment. The crowd albeit a little bit older than that of the 23 club down the block, was real mellow. Couple tables to hang out by the bar, a pool table, a dartboard, you know - the usual. The patrons reminds me of the crowd of Joe's of Westlake in Daly City. Some real og's. The bartender, I didn't catch his name, but he had the presence of a bartender of old. Probably one of the coolest bartenders that ever served a drink to me. If you're a fan of Carl from the Ha-Ra in the TL or a fan of the movie "Cocktail" with Tom Cruise, then yeah, this guy is up there. Lot of personality. The brothers that own the bar are serious hunters and have all sorts of trophy beasts on the wall. They even had a jackalope. You stay classy, Brisbane.

I began hosting a Karaoke Show a few months ago at the Brisbane Inn (B.I.), and I am pleased to say how happy I am here, and consider this my home away from home. There are various forms of entertainment presented here, all week long. Watch the B.I. website for the calender of events. Many of the patrons are longtime loyal customers and friends, but there are many new guests, who come in from the local cities, campuses and businesses to unwind and enjoy themselves. There is a great staff, who make everyone feel welcome from the first hello to the end of each visitors stay.Drinks are affordable and plenty, and Bartenders are talented and experienced in their profession.Outside food is welcomed by the patrons to enjoy while they are enjoying the entertainment, drinks and ambiance of the B.I.Do yourself a favor, and make a visit. Be confident and know you will be glad you did.
