Comfy... cozy... comfort food with huge portions at an amazing price!I went here on Valentine's Day hoping it wouldn't be booked out. (They take reservations too by the way!) We were seated relatively quick and greeted sooo kindly I was so excited to dig in!They have two menus, the Meat & Three (which YOU HAVE to get!) and their drinks, sides, and entrees menu. for my choice of meat and sides I got Fried Catfish, Mac n Cheese and fried Okra, and dirty rice... I was in flavor heaven!the food came out quick and the portions are definitely shareable! My date got the fried chicken, corn bread, and spinach, and beans with rice... we almost barely finished everything! The ketchup-like jam they use for the chicken is soo GOOD, I would buy a bottle if I could and the peaces of chicken? It was literally more than halfThe plate size.Overall, I would come back here again soon with a group of friends (especially to cheers with their drinks :) ) I'm really glad to have spent a night out in the area amongst other highly rated joints in the area. I'll be dreaming about Brenda's until next visit!

Upon arrival, we were a bit confused by the check-in process. Everyone was gathering at the entrance, so we were unsure about who to check in with or if we should just wait. Having a reservation seems to be the way to go.Anyway. The chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy. I typically opt for dark meat, but wanted to try the chicken breast to see if it will be delicious or dry. It was delicious! The red beans and rice were tasty, but not worth it for me at $8 for a --small-- cup. The vegan po'boy was excellent. The BBQ sauce was the highlight. The side of coleslaw was surprisingly good. Coleslaw is so basic, but theirs was noteworthy enough that we would order it again. One minor disappointment was that you can't order a single beignet. We ordered the flight. Our favorite was the plain one. Overall, the food was great, and with a few tweaks to the check-in process, the experience could be even better.

This was our second visit to Brenda's Meat & Three. Both of our visits were wonderful and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, and really has a homemade quality to it.We had the fried chicken both times and found it to be crispy, moist and flavorful, especially when adding the included pepper sauce! For sides, we really enjoyed the red beans and rice, the coleslaw and the side salad. All tasted fresh. And the biscuit... the biscuit... honestly, without a doubt in my mind, it was the best biscuit I've ever had. I would go back for that again and again! The first time we went, we also tried the beignets, which were served up hot and fresh. We ordered those, just because, and were not disappointed, but honestly, we walked out of there feeling pretty full! We remembered that on our second trip and decided to pass on dessert. However, I did everything in my power not to order the blueberry cobbler that was on special... I'm gonna have to go back on another day just to get that, lol! We'll be back... the overall experience was definitely 5 stars... great service and a delicious meal! Oh, and sorry I didn't take any photos... I was really hungry and I wasn't about to stop eating at any time to snap some pics... next time!

Arrived right at opening and was sat right away in the outside patio. Cute place! Had heat lamps. We were promptly greeted and served. The food was so good and reminded me of New Orleans! I had the chicken Benedict and wish I was eating it right now. I only wish I got the hash but I got grits and I guess I don't like grits but it's probably good if you like grits... oops! No worries my own personal issue. Still a 5/5 experience

I've been here both for dine-in and takeout, and both have left me satisfied. The shrimp and grits are always the star of the show for me. The grits are creamy and flavorful, and the shrimps are juicy and perfectly cooked. The beignets are a sweet, tasty way to end the meal. The spot can get a little crowded, but the back patio is cozy and the heated lamps are definitely a plus. It's a great place for delicious Southern comfort food!

Brenda's is our go-to spot for hearty brunch. The staff is so kind and friendly, you feel so welcomed when you come in. The food is hearty and fills your soul- you will always leave full. The southern vibe is such a treat to have on the west coast- it feels like you walked into a New Orleans locals spot.

Three gets Five! This is a five star fried chicken spot. There is a reason they have been serving SF for so long. The fried chicken is the star of the show. The seasoning is a flavor blast, it's perfectly crispy, the meat is juicy and tender. It's one of the best fried chicken that I have had in SF. The biscuit is so incredibly delicious. It's so flaky, pillowy, and buttery. It could be the best biscuit I've ever had.The meatloaf was tasty, but I didn't die for it.The chicken sandwich was good, but I would try the other dishes over it.Overall, love this spot! It's a definite keeper in my Yelp collection.

Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised to grab a table at 10:30 AM! I saw a line forming as we were on our way out at 12.I had one of their specials, which was the corn succotash (a mix of bell peppers, corn and Lima beans) Benedict with a side of hash (cubed potatoes). SO good! I'm not usually a poached egg person, but I adored their hollandaise sauce and the texture of the crisp corn succotash underneath! The biscuit tied everything together, which was super buttery and flavorful, especially with the runny egg. So moral of the story is... look at the specials board?Beignets were dense and sweet from powdered sugar on top - I would try a flavored one next time... it was a lot of dough, especially with just having eaten the biscuits.

The food was very good. Just how we thought and just how we remembered from our last time having yummy food here. The ambiance was very mellow and a very successful Sunday brunch. We forgot to check the patio!

Soul food! Friendly staff and good service. Food came fast. We had to wait about 15minutes to get a seat without reservation for brunch. Definitely recommend trying the biscuit! Pass on the pulled pork hash.
