Bottom's Up

My friend and I were looking for bars around the area after we finished dinner wanted to check out Sip Wine Bar, but instead stumbled across Bottom's Up which is the actually the ground level establishment, while Sip Wine Bar was upstairs. We decided to stay at Bottoms Up since there was a DJ. Their drink menu has a good variety of cocktails and shooters and the price was on the lower end compared to other bars in SF. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive place to drink that has a DJ, I would come here. There is a credit card minimum of around $15. Our bartender was very nice but there were only two people working that night. Luckily it wasn't crowded so we got our drinks very fast. The only reason I'm docking stars is because halfway through our time there, the music became SUPER loud. They turned up the volume so loud that my friend and I who were sitting next to each other at the bar, had to basically yell in order to hear each other. The space isn't that big so I don't think they needed the music to be SO loud, in my opinion. Our ears were ringing after we left. This bar is not fancy by any means, but it's not the worst place to get some cheap drinks/shots. Not sure if I would come back but it looked like other people that were there were having a good time despite the extremely loud music.

Came on a Friday night after dinner for a friend's birthday, mostly because a friend of a friend was about to DJ around 11pm. No cover, which is nice because this place is like a bar pretending to be a club. When we first walked in it seemed kind of busy since the entry way is small and crowded by tables. We waited for 45 mins just to order a drink and quickly realized that people were leaving and it was dead. They only had 2 bartenders for a Friday night, which probably contributed to the dead vibe and empty rooms. The music was okay (some hitters) but nobody was drunk enough to keep up with the songs that didn't slap. They also had like... Regular TV playing on the monitors? Basically like at a sports bar but it was weird, music/artist related stuff from back in the 2000s or 90s. Honestly I think if it weren't for my friend's birthday, I would've cut out and just gone somewhere else to drink. It's not even like it's especially cheap to drink here, or has good/quick service.

went here for the first time last night while bar hopping for new years, it's a little bar but had a dj which was random, cool and fun especially on new years. there weren't many customers but there should be, don't listen to the negative reviews. i definitely recommend trying it out!

Very chill bar with reasonable prices - came here on a Tuesday night and they had a local event showcasing old school games which were fun to play and engage with others. I LOVED my chicken sandwich from here and would come again just for that. A simple fried chicken sandwich but the breading was top notch (think it's all handmade and maybe even double fried) and the chicken was so juicy. That in and of itself was worth it. Solid selection of beers so well worth the $20 trip for a beer and food.The only reason I docked it a star is the area seems kind of shady so it's not that hustling and bustling most of the time so good for a chill night and if you are going with a big group to have a relaxing time.

Overly priced drinks that taste water downed! I tried to give this place another shot and I can't. The DJ was amazing but the drinks and the annoying service of the bartenders constantly coming around and picking up the empty glasses while we are in mid conversation annoying. I get you wanna keep the place nice and neat but damn like every 5 mins come on. Again watered down drinks which are super pricey no thanks!

I live very close to Bottom's Up and never gave it a second thought, but a group of friends organized a happy hour here and I was surprised they have decent drinks!Reservations were made a couple days in advance for a group of 10.We sat in their balcony area, which was like a half-outdoor space. This worked out, as we could be outside for COVID safety, but we didn't have to be fully exposed to the wind.Our server was willing to charge separately or split up the bill however we wanted. Note there is a $15 minimum for using credit card, NOT including tips.* Cactus Juice ($10) - 4 starsThis was surprisingly well-balanced though simple. It was not too strong and on the sweet side.

Chalk this up to a learning experience. This place also functions as a club and the pricing shows on their bad version of a mixed drink. $13.75 for a small pour rye old fashioned. The bartender made it by pouring soda and bitters into the glass, then icing it, then using a measured cup for the rye. The worst part though? She had the audacity to squeez a quarter of orange directly into the drink. Disgusting. This might work for inexperienced twenty-something's, but not me.The decor is modern, and the establishment a bit on the dark side, the one thing I liked about the place. Liquor selection is limited, and beer is just your average oat sodas. I got the impression that the neighborhood is a tad sketchy, but I felt safe enough. Parking is not impossible.

Great food and drink specials! They now host Speed Friending and dating with bar games on Wednesdays at night! This place got a remodel so it's looking fun! This event is called Speed Game Events!

The best bar in the Outer Mission and Excelsior. Shirley, the Manager, has an excellent range of cocktails, beer, and wine. DJs and live music are on the schedule, check Instagram for current scheduling. Friendly bartenders and good bar snacks and other food.
