You won't be disappointed by a trip at Bon Delire. You should visit often preferably with a friend or many. The decor is typical of a french brasserie and offers indoor/outdoor sitting. The menu collects very traditional dishes with a modern twist (yes, I know how it sounds...). I went with a couple of friends and we tried Oeuf Mayonnaise & Accras (cod fish croquette) as appetizers. The eggs had crab and a dash of chili while the accras were very creamy. So, accras as made with salted cod fish that can be - in some instances - be overly salty. However in our dish, the balance of salty/creamy and sweet was amazing. It seems the accras are covered with a very thin layer of honey) provides a delicious bite. And they are warm as in "freshly cooked when you ordered ".Next we tried the duck confit and white beans. The duck leg managed the difficult exercise to provide a crispy skin AND a moist meat (again not overly salty). The white beans were cooked perfectly. The dessert menu is carefully curated and we selected the madeleines. They are cooked on-demand, deliciously soft, served with chocolate and vanilla sauce (I assumed a light creme anglaise). It is very tempting to take one to go as well because you can't beat a freshly baked cake... They were by far the best madeleine I tasted. In summary, the food great, atmosphere, service and decor make it a great place to go (nice location too).

Almost a 5 stars but the prices are too high for the portion sizes. We got the camembert cheese roti (baked cheese), caesar salad, mussels and steak frites. The camembert and caesar were skippable. I am a huge caesar salad fanatic and this one just felt too small for the price. The flavors were nice but nothing special. The mussels were absolutely delicious. But we had a group of 3 and they gave us 5 mussels so we couldn't equally share. It'd be the little touches to give us 6 mussels that would help justify the price. The steak frites were also delicious and cooked perfectly. The fries were similar to in n out fries (in a good way). Again just little portions. I ordered a dirty martini ($17) and it did not come dirty. I love the vibes here. Very well done on the interior design. Service was great. I'd just like to see bigger portions or lower prices to feel like the food and drinks align with their price.

I'll start with the good. Beautiful interior, great location, nice enough staff and delicious drinks- would have given all of that 4 stars. The food for the price is ridiculous! I'm used to spending $100 a person for a nice night out with friends (an sf given if you're going to nicer restaurants). This is $100 a person for almost NOTHING! The prices are sf average but the serving size is almost offensive. IF servings are going to be that small, it needs to be AMAZING food (it is just average). If prices are going to be that high and food average, it needs to be a decent serving. Something is not lining up at this place. Would go again for a drink at the bar as it is beautiful and drinks were good/worth the price, but sadly would never recommend for dinner.

Really cute spot along the Embarcadero. Came here to try the croque madame and really really loved it. It was cheesy and hearty without being too dense or filling.Only reason for 4 stars is that it definitely is on the pricier side, and while it is very cozy and Parisian looking pretty interior, the seats are very close to each other. I'll be interested in coming back to try their weekend brunch menu!

This is a great new French restaurant ride along the Embarcadero. The space is really cozy with a giant counter and several tables around it. My friend and I came here on a Saturday night and shared the deviled eggs, oysters, Caesar salad, steak frites (10 oz New York) and the chocolate pot de creme. The food is 5 out of 5. The steak frites really hit the spot for us - there's nothing better than a steak cooked perfectly medium rare. The fries were also nice and crispy and we devoured those with the steak sauce. The oysters were nice and plump and the deviled eggs were a nice appetizer. I always get some greens these days and the Caesar salad was a great choice. The chocolate pot de creme was a good way to end the meal. Service was good and attentive. The restaurant is tight and can get really loud. With tax and tip, this was about $95 per person - a good value for the steak that we got. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

02/09/25 Came back to the restaurant for Saturday brunch. Food still good, they improved their French fries; service is great and nice ambiance. We were lucky to walk in, but recommend making a reservation.

Came in for happy hour and sat at the bar, I was told I'd would only have 15 minutes due to reservations but they actually didn't end up moving me and the place wasn't even full. I enjoyed the food, I had the Croquettes and Petite Croque Madame. The croquettes were creamy and well seasoned. The highlight was definitely the Croque Madame the bread is toasted perfectly and filled with gooey cheese and ham. I just wish it wasn't so small, especially for the price, you're paying $10 for half a sandwich and it's only that price because of happy hour, so it's usually more expensive. The building itself is beautiful, it's right along the water. Staff were friendly and attentive. I'd go again for a special occasion.

Great place for first date on the pier if you want to impress while keeping it to a quick meal. That's a nice way of saying this isn't your everyday French bistro and I'm unlikely to return. Food: Food here is not for sharing. Portion sizes are all very small. Caesar salad $16 was tasty and so was the leek salad $14. The "burger" at $20 wasn't bad but nothing special and it should be renamed to be Le Slider. It is very small and I could've eaten two. It doesn't come with any sides, no fries, no salad, nada. The dessert Pain Purdue $14 is a classic french toast and it was maybe the best thing we had. Service: I have never seen so many wait staff at a restaurant, especially just standing around chit chatting!! The space is small and there were 8 waiters in the front of house. There are so many of them that they kept running into each other and we got asked how our food was way too many times. Honestly, no wonder the price is so high for the food you get because they have to pay soooooo many of them to stand around! Ambiance: It is Instagram-mable but it is extremely uncomfortable. The bar stools are tiny and none of the chairs have a back to them (unless you are in the on seat at the booths) so good thing the food is tiny and that way you can eat quickly and go. Keep in mind that this means there's no where to put your jackets and there was no purse hooks under the bar table either.

Excellent place for date night/weekend brunch with friends. Think French bistro meets modern city cool with a waterfront setting. Indoor and outdoor seating. I work nearby, so I come here at least once a month. Love their selection of bistro classics, cocktails, French wines, and very attentive and speedy service. Kais (owner) is always so warm and welcoming. Great price point for the Embarcadero and you can come for cocktails, light bites, or a full-on dinner/brunch. A lively ambiance with vinyls spinning. Finally a spot near the ferry building worth going to. Can't miss:- Caesar salad - Truffle fries- Le Burger- Madeleines (served warm) for dessert - French 75 cocktails

I booked the restaurant for a party of 2 initially and then were able to modify it for 4 people for a birthday which was really nice of them! We were able to swap out the frites for the steak for Parmesan truffle fries which was really yummy but not as crispy as excepted. The steak however was 10/10 cooked perfectly medium rare. The escargot are skippable. The tartare was a little plain. But the charcuterie board and truffle cheese were yummy. The restaurant is quite small and the bathrooms are located outside of the building down the hall in a shared office space. We reminded the host that it was a birthday and was hoping they could put a candle on the dessert we ordered but they forgot. All in all a really good vibe and wish they had more items on their menu.
