We happened to be in San Francisco for the weekend and met the owner and he invited us to his soft opening. We had no idea the experience we were walking into. The ambiance one was child-like but for adults (obviously) got to play with AR while we waited and then boom the 1st course was a brussel sprout small plate (phenomenal)...then the Sea-4 shrimp came out and I knew I haven't had a good fried shrimp before. Sticky, crunchy & flavorful. We were originally invited for the the fried rice and once again RJ did not disappoint. The seafood fried rice had squid, shrimp, scallop...was vwell made. Flavor is the word of the day when it came to Bomb Fried Rice. Please if you're around give it a try!!

An ad popped up on my Insta feed about free fried rice. Out of curiosity, I clicked on it and it brought me to Bomb Fried Rice's page. They're a pop-up located in Soma and I figured it was worth a try. Out of the three fried rice options, I chose the Bomb. It has Chinese sausage, bacon, and garlic butter. It's a good portion of rice! It definitely will fill you up. I just wish the sausage was cut in larger pieces. Both the sausage and the bacon were cut into very small cubes. I don't mind that with bacon. But I didn't get that distinct flavor that Chinese sausage has. I also didn't get a lot of garlic flavor either. Nevertheless, I did find the dish comforting and I finished it. I added a bit of their hot sauce to the rice, and it was pretty good. It added some heat and acidity to it. I paired my dish with a tropical iced tea. I'm glad it was unsweetened. The gentlemen behind the counter were really nice. Service was fast. And the ambience is pretty cool. I like the art displayed and the music was good. I don't listen to Filipino music often, so it was nice to hear something different and in my own language. There's also a QR code on the tables that take you to their Spotify playlist. As for the other QR codes that take you to their AR website - I thought that was interesting. I should've used it when my dish came. But it's entertaining to use while you wait. I don't know if each table has different QR codes. My table had ones with their logo and with one of their rice bowls. As stated earlier, this is a pop-up and this is their soft launch. I have a feeling this pop-up will be a successful one. I'd like to come back again to try their shroom fried rice this weekend.

I do not come to SF too often but got word of a soft opening for this restaurant and figured I'd give it a try. This hole in the wall was well worth the drive over. At the moment, they're doing 5:30pm and 7:30pm reservations. Parking- Street parking went well for my family and me. There's plenty of parking that's available after 6:00pm. No nearby parking garages for public that I'm aware of but was able to find a spot in front of the restaurant. Ambiance/ Cleanliness- Such a chill vibe upon entering with a bit of a Night Market Feel for those that are into that. Music is level is just right so I feel that we can hold conversations but still enjoy the music. All the tables were wiped down and not messy. My little one ended up taking over the center space and was very happy to be there. Family friendly with a couple of families there during our reservation time. Food- The Bomb. Garlic peanuts to start with definitely had my mouth watering especially since they were just made. Super addicting! Mango iced tea was refreshing and appreciated since I love mangoes. The first to come out was the veggie combo and it was sooo good. Served nice and fresh and was very flavorful. Next, Sausage trio was solid with the different styles. The variety hit the spot with the sweet and savory. The finale was the Fried Rice and living up to its name, it was The Bomb. The garlic and sesame flavor was just right and came out hot like the other sides. I ate the sides too fast but should've done what my wife did and save some of the veggies and sausages for the fried rice . But fried rice has always been my favorite food for those that know me growing up and this happens to be the best fried rice I've ever had. My one year old finished his dinner but started eating the fried rice off mommy and daddy's plate and wanting more. I think the coolest part is that the menu is set and super simple but will be changing week to week to keep you wanting to try more. Fullness- I have a big appetite and was worried that I would still be hungry but my fullness level was met to the point where I don't need to eat anymore but not be in a food coma. Customer service- If you check any of my other rare reviews, I'm just a sucker for customer service and here was top notch. Owner came to each table to introduce himself but what really got me was his vision. When you know someone is driven to do amazing things, you can feel something that you can't really put into words. The innovations for the first AR Restaurant in SF and only Fried Rice shop out there makes his vision very unique and this is just the soft open. The owner went table to table and gave his undivided attention to let them know the vibe/ culture that he wants to share and that definitely makes the food taste better. Overall- First of its kind where amazing food meets tech has me very excited for what lies ahead. I don't go to SF often enough but would make this a stop every time I have the opportunity to go out there. The service was amazing and I would definitely come back for the chill vibes and see how the tech improves when they open up officially. The vision the owner has shows me big things are coming for Bomb Fried Rice and their tech so I'll be keeping an eye out for what comes next.

First of all it's a new way of fine dining immersed with technology not to confuse with service and best fried rice you're about to experience in your palate. Located in the heart of downtown San Francisco you'll find it easy to locate. The sides are also the bomb if not the features. The Brussels sprouts are simply delicious considering I'm not a fan. The menu is not long but the combinations are endless. Today is their grand opening coinciding with the SF Bay Area Tech week where they are a participant. So come down and check it out. You will not be disappointed.

Heard about this place originally on social media where they are promoting free fried rice simply for visiting to dine in without any other obligation. On a Saturday night, a family member and I visited both with coupons which was verified by telephone earlier in the day that the coupon had no expiration date and each person is allowed to have their own coupon. When we arrived, the place did not even have one customer, which is not a good indication, especially when offering free food with no strings attached. So the both of us were immediately seated and when we took out our free fried rice coupons which are mentioned on the bottom of their main website at https://www.bombfriedrice.com which goes to the following page, https://www.bombfriedrice.com/free-fried-rice - they said the offer no longer applies as supplies are getting low and it's buy one get one of equal or less value for free and basically a bait and switch as they are advertising in writing free fried rice but instead does not honor an offer they have in writing. They are selling the same food product that they are claiming to be low in supplies since if the supplies was low, they would not have the item to keep selling to us and the other customers who walked in with the same original offer and ended up paying there to eat with the Buy One, Get One Free offer even though there were some customers who did just leave after they did not honor the original free fried rice offer. This is about integrity. Now on to the food. We did order the Crack Fried Rice and the Bomb Fried Rice. There was a bowl of Garlic peanuts on the table which was actually pretty good for being free and actually better than their fried rice. Both of us are Chinese and are in the restaurant business in the past. The Bomb Fried Rice lacked flavor and was extremely oily. The Crack Fried Rice was slightly better but for the price at $18.99, it should be but the only flavor was really just the spicy Thai curry but the curry flavor was also lacking.
