I found this place by doing my walks in the neighborhood. I love the meals that they sell for $9.50. I have tried all of the selections and my favorite is steam pork with a fermented fish. The meal is two servings!!' Service is great and now they have tables for clients can eat vs taking their meal out. Ambiance is typical Chinese take out. Looks like they did renovations for several weeks. Everything here is fresh. Support small businesses.

Shrimp rice roll tasted bad. I think they were selling it for awhile, the texture of shrimp inside was really tough and shrink to tiny bit like it's been steamed over and over again, it's not fresh at all. The rice roll was also thick and have dried edges. Other items tasted better than the shrimp rice roll but they were also not that fresh. Over priced for low quality taste experience.

Kind of on the outskirts of Chinatown in that weird transitional space that flows into North Beach. Not very high traffic. Takeout only right now, even though there seem to be seats/tables. Very good value and solid quality. Though there is a mix of hits and misses, so best to try a few things so you're guaranteed a few stars.Shrimp Dumplings: A great value at $3.60 for 4. Just as good as the ones served from pricier dim sum carts at restaurants. Lots of shrimp inside a delicate skin.Pork Siu Mai: Another reliable favorite, familiar on dim sum carts. Very meaty and hearty.Chive Dumplings: It was ok, but not as a good as the other two dim sum items. Seemed like a lot more greens than shrimp.BBQ Pork Bun: Steamed bun with sweet sticky pork inside. Very crave worthy.Pan Fried Pork & Vegetable Bun: Only slightly browned from the pan fry and not crispy. The inside felt kinda skimpy compared to all the bread. Only a little pork among the cabbage. Liked the BBQ pork bun more.Fried Meat Dumpling: These were so yummy. A gooey mochi like dumpling that is deep fried to have a delightfully crispy skin. And the inside was like beef and mushroom or something, very umami.Chicken Rice: So I like that there is a nice thick layer of crispy rice at the bottom of the pan, which ends up on top of the takeout container. However, wasn't a fan of the chicken. Every piece had bones in it. And not like big drumstick bones that are easy to eat around, but tiny little shards. So you have to be really careful eating this. Especially since the crispy rice acts like a false flag in the nonstop game of "Is this a bone or is it crispy rice?" Not worth all the effort.

This review is strictly for their mantous. I've been on the hunt for good mantous ever since my favorite shop shut down during the pandemic. Those were ginormous no frill and so cheap at the edge of Chinatown (IYKYK). This place could potentially replace it. Although the mantous are smaller and pricier, they are just as fluffy and with the same lightly sweetened milk aroma. I've had them instantly on the spot and I must say that it's way better if you bring them home and re-steam! Overall, I'd definitely come again! P.S they gave multiple flavors - pumpkin, yam, plain white, and wheat. My fave was the plain white!

When i wanna practice my Toisan I come here or I listen to Daddy Lau Parking is a lil hectic as it is SF Chinatown. There is a garage on the next block if you want that piece of mind. With the location being close to the Chinatown Police station it's very safe area.Today I ordered and would order again Beef balls- it's like the Chinese version of the meatball. Order this please Bon appetitShrimp dumpling - really good and the skin not to thick. Pork sui mai - good sweet from the alcohol and juicy from the pork. Fresh tasting ground pork that they most likely minced fresh from actual slabs. TPorridge -pork and preserved egg -When the greed take over and price gouge $8 plus this place taking care of the community and the people at $2.50 The best porridge I've had in a really long time as it reminds me of grandmas porridge with the whole Shabang. Order this please Buns 3x Custard bun- at .90 cents a piece . a bit pricey but their plain bread and custard filling makes up for it. The plain white bun itself is very satisfying airy , moist, spongy imagine a steamed Hawaii bread all white. The egg custard inside jiggly but holds it shape reminds me of dan tat (egg tart filling) When it comes to good food there is no set price. To my satisfaction this all came out to $16 3 steamed dim sums (4 pieces per order)1 porridge 3 steamed buns 16 total items for $16 1-1 ratio let's go ! This place is no frills and offers a variety of dim sum to go. My kind of place. Everything is pretty much $1/piece -- at least for the smaller items.F O O DChicken feet - This was tasty!! Some to go places serve it by the pound, but this one comes with 4 for $4 (I think).Char Siu Bao/Pork Bun - Steamed, fluffy bread with a decent amount of filling. The filling wasn't gelatinous, too fatty, or too sweet. It was also only $1. I'd definitely get these again.Har gow - This wasn't my favorite of the places I've tried. It's missing something for me. It's also $1/each piece, which is probably cheap by sit down standards but expensive for to go. Inflation...Egg custard circle thing (I don't actually know what it's called, but it was in the case and there's a red bean version) - not too sweet and had a good egg filling ratio.It's at the edge of Chinatown, but I'd come back!

I was waiting around and parked in front, didn't even realize this place served dim sum until several people walked inside. Intrigued, I looked it up on Yelp and the reviews said cheurng fun was good, so I went in and got a beef. It was good. The folks ahead of me also ordered the cheurng fun too. Nice snack. CASH ONLY, cheap, no frills mom and pop dim sum joint. Got all your usual dim sum staples siumai, hargao, cheung fun, salted pork w/ century egg congee, clay pot black bean pork and rice and MANY more. And a wide selection of steamed buns, try the Yam/sweet potato mantao bun and my personal favorite and best item they have IMO is the Big Bun or Dai Bao. It has pork, Chinese sausage, egg, shiitake mushrooms and usually pretty filling, hence big bun. Its the best in the area.Menu has both English and Chinese w/ prices. It's located just a block away from Little Italy and Chinatown, street parking only, unless you wanna garage it next door, but overall good joint if you're in the area and want something quick and good

This is such a hidden gem! I'm a LA Native, but discovered this hidden gem from my mom's coworker. Their Mantou is the BEST you can ever find. My family's all time favorite is the milk/plain Mantou. Last I went back was in December of 2020. The prices of their Dim Sum is very affordable. A mantou the size of a grown man's fist is $0.75. I always stock up before I head back to LA with about 100 mantou to share with family and friends. I wish they could open one in LA. My family and I have tried many other Mantou places and tried making our own, but could never get the strong, but natural milky aroma and flavor they make. All their other dim sum sizes are also huge and cheaper than any dim sum restaurant you can find. Don't let the run down interior steer you away, this is how you know they have amazing flavors.
