Amazing chicken sandwich. Perfectly cooked, just the right amount of toppings, and the sandwich held together perfectly. The story of how this place started is really cool, too. Will definitely be back!

I've been meaning to try this place and today I did. I had the Claude the Claw sandwich, and it was a tasty fried chicken sandwich. What makes it unique is the claw sticking out of the sandwich. It also has slaw and pickles in it. The meat was nice and juicy. Since it's a boneless thigh, that helped with the juiciness. The waffle fries were cooked well...nice texture. It seemed a little pricy for the sandwich, but it was worth trying. You place your order and pay on the iPad, and you are called when your order is ready. If you didn't order a drink, there's glasses and water by the napkins. There was ample seating on a Sunday around noon. They also have an upstairs with several tables. The staff is helpful and friendly.

I've heard many great things about Birdbox and knew I had to make a visit during my trip. Unfortunately, Claude the Claw did not meet my expectations . I ordered my sandwich in the Spicy Falcon seasoning with a side of fries and while the fries were absolutely delicious, the sandwich couldn't seem to compete with the side it came with. The sandwich was good, the seasoning definitely had the kick it promised, but the flavor did not stand out from many other chicken sandwiches I've had elsewhere. Additionally, I understand that although sandwiches aren't necessarily the most mess-free foods, with the packaging it came with it was a bit hard to eat. The food wasn't bad. However, as a spin-off of the Michelin-starred restaurant Birdsong, I was hoping for a better sandwich. At a price point of $18 just for the sandwich, it is not someplace I would consider returning. The interior of the restaurant is pretty cute. It's a self-service establishment which makes the experience a quick and simple one. I did wish that hand wipes were available for customers since eating the sandwich became a pretty messy process.

I came here with my friends and tried claude the claw spicy sandwich. The sandwich was kinda hard to eat, but it was very flavorful. The sauce was sour and spicier than I expected, but yummy. The slaw and bread were good as well. I do wish there was more meat; it felt like I was eating more breading than chicken, but I did lime how crunchy it was. I tried the waffle fries and they were tasty as well: crispy but on the saltier side.

THE CLAAWWW- i don't know about you, but it makes me think of Jim Carey in Liar Liar. IYKYKWe stopped in for a bite and a beer before the Giants game. Self ordering tablets make it easy and they call your name when your order is ready. We ordered a couple of beers and two chicken sandwiches. I had Claude and my husband had the traditional one. I must say- soooo good! But also very filling and generous portions. We probably could have just shared to be honest. We made both of ours a meal with side (fries). I could probably do without the fries next time. The sandwiches are high up there in price but kudos to flavor and the bun is buttery excellent. Pair it with a beer and you are golden.Everyone was super nice and there was plenty of seating for us at the time. Short walk to Oracle park too.

If I could do half stars I would give this a 3.8, it's not good enough for 4 but it's also not bad. The chicken sandwich itself has good flavor, it's juicy but the flavor didn't stand out or wow me. And for $18 per sandwich I expect a lot more out of it. If anything I'd rather go to Popeyes. However, the fries were amazing. Crunchy, flavorful waffle fries! These were more of a highlight than the sandwich itself.

The claw!! *cues the aliens from toy story*We ordered:- Claude the claw- Sour cream & onion tenders + black magic sauceThe chicken sandwich was crispy! I enjoyed it more than the tenders. The tenders had a bit too much seasoning for me and the powder got overwhelming after awhile. I didn't realize I could pick a sauce on the machine and got the default black magic one. It might've been better with yeayo but couldn't justify spending more on extra sauces. Overall, Birdbox had a unique take on chicken sandwiches with a claw hanging out. However, there are better and cheaper alternatives for chicken sandwiches around the bay area.

The burgers are huge! And delicious! Just wish they were a little more spicy/ flavorful. The service was great, he was really nice and helpful. The ambiance is very street food vibes, there's no place to sit, so we sat in our car and ate! Really nice to go burgers, and they have stands during the farmers markets at the ferry building every Tuesday and Thursday!

I don't know what it was but this sando was not for me. Usually I love a good crispy skin, but Claude the Claw Spicy Falcon was a lot more "crispy coating" than meat and the spice had a follow through of bitter - don't know if that was the potato bun. However, love the claw concept with the actual claw poking out of the sandwich though! My partner liked the tenders and I think I prefer them too - want to try the sour cream and onion flavor! Favorite things were the fries (waffle fries with schmaltz) and corn bread with honey butter - the corn bread is insanely good - soft/gooey/hard in all the right places. Also did the sauce sampler: - Raging Falcon: Dill forward, not super spicy at first but hits the back of your palate - Yeayo: Super creamy, a little garlicky. Probs most like an aioli - Spicy Yeayo: ^same but with a little heat - Black Magic: Sweet and vinegary. Kind of like All Dressed chips if you've had 'em. - Buffalo is Buffalo - B-Ranch: I want to say this is yogurt or sour cream based, not a lot of typical ranch flavor? -

Lives up to the hype! The fried chicken sandwiches are pricey - $15 each - but ingredients are high quality and portion is large. The bun is buttery and fluffy, chicken is crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside, Cole slaw is refreshing, and sauce is delicious. Great meal without being too greasy and heavy. It's also an open kitchen concept so you can see your sandwich being prepared which is fun. Would definitely recommend!
