One wine store goes down, and another pops up... It's been a hot minute since I last went out for some fun at west portal. Went out to try this wine bar. Food was limited to small bites so we ordered a lot. Food came out quick and delicious. I really enjoyed the anchovy cheese chocolate situation they had going on. They have a good wine collection to choose from... And if you get caught in a pickle, don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. Out of the multiple bottles we've had, they were all recpmmended and not one bad recommendation. One might need a little patience on busier nights but I do believe it's worth the wait. The place has a nice cozy feel and operated by a very friendly Italian couple. Great to converse with and adds to the allure of this place.

A really cute neighborhood spot in West Portal. Really wide selection of wines and comes with small popcorn bites. A great place to have a drink and chat with friends, though it is quite small! Service was good and would definitely come back!

Came back to West Portal to get a few updates . First it seems there has been some changes and delays in some store openings . What I did run into was a pleasant surprise. Another new wine bar low key gem in what used to be " Que Syrah". This newer wine bar is called " Binu Bonu"and it is owned by the former Founders of " La Ciccia" an Italian Sardinian Restaurant and San Francisco staple located in Noe Valley. Binu Bonu is relaxing place to enjoy some wine in the between time before dinner in the early or late evening in West Portal. I ordered the Northern Italian wine Marco Secondo Valpolicella Classico 2019. Since it's a red wine it had hints of red fruits like cherries and strawberries. I was on repeat with this particular wine. It was tasty and not too sweet . They also offer bread , cheese, and snacks to pair with the wines. The decor and atmosphere has neighborhood feel. It's good to see new businesses in West Portal but there have also been recent fires affecting some West Portal businesses. Overall Binu Bonu is a solid wine bar to go to when visiting West Portal. I found a new gem that's shines through its wine Go to Binu Bonu before or after you do the West Portal fine dine

Love discovering a new spot! Cozy, bright, beautiful minimalist interiors and high ceilings. Small bites. Great Italian wine. It's good to have a chic wine bar in the neighborhood. Service was thoughtful, thanks to the owner-tandem who run Binu Bonu. My group occupied the whole bar area. They are serving cold starters like octopus salad, cheeses, and small pinxtos type fare to pair with the wine.

Ummm...why does this establishment only have 4.8 stars?! It needs 5 stars at a minimum!! Lorrella and Massimilano, hailing from La Cicca fame, are the sweetest people in the world. We sat at the bar and had the most wonderful time chit chatting about favorite sushi spots in the city, the quirky eccentricities of winemakers, and what defines a natural wine. Oh, and we had the most delicious octopus salad and a taste of some spicy spicy chocolate! I do like Unwined in West Portal but sorry, Binu Bonu takes the cake! Look forward to many more outings here.

Binu Bonu replaced Que Syrah - it holds up to the quality of the old place, but with a few innovations. The small plates are quite intriguing and the wine reasonably priced (by San Francisco standards). If you are looking for a small, intimate place to hang out with friends over a glass of wine and olives or truffled ricotta, I recommend stopping by. The hosts are super friendly and intuitive about what to recommend.
