Overall? Finding good quality fish at a reasonable price in a busy city feels like a unicorn hunt these days. But Big Fish House? Total gem. It's budget-friendly without cutting corners on quality. Their happy hour menu is a steal, $10 nigiri? Yes, please. The service was quick, attentive, and on point, and I loved the included hot tea with the meal, a nice touch that's becoming rare. It's an absolutely legit hole in the wall spot, and would definitely recommend checking it outParking? Street, wasn't difficult to find for us

Cheap eats but you really do get what you pay for. I paid extra for the "real crab" and it was so awful that not only did it have shells in it, but it was super fishy and not fresh. The owner gave me like 10% off the rolls which is hilarious because that's less than the price of the upcharge for the horrible crab.I kept spitting everything out.Not fresh fish either. I would skip this place for anything raw.The noodle soup lunch was worth it though for under $15 with a decent amount of beef and noodles.

I'd give Big Fish House a 10 star rating if it were possible... 5 for the food and 5 for the service. The Jake Roll is one of the best maki cut rolls I've ever had. The creamy garlic sauce made the flavor of this roll so unique. The Double Toro Roll was so rich and smooth. Such great texture! The fish in both these rolls also tasted of high quality.I was fortunate to have met Julie & Jasmine who came to our table and provided amazing service, and great conversation. I really didn't want to leave after eating because of all the smiling and laughing we were having in the process of converting strangers to friends! The only downside to Big Fish House is that I live in San Diego and that makes it too far to try and come here at least once a week, which I would do in a perfect world.

Julia, the owner was very nice to chit-chat for a quick moment, adding a personal & neighborly touch to our eating experience. The waitress also gave a warm welcome. Food was done right, delicious, simple, and spot, which isn't easy to accomplish for fusion food. I'm keeping this place in my back pocket recommendation list.

This is the sister restaurant of Kufuya's and I can say it's super delicious. Not only the food is great but the service is phenomenal they have always treated us like family. Their lunch menu is such a good steal, and so far everything we have eaten there has been just super great! Can't wait to come back!

Pros: They serve tea (or water), which I loved The food is decently priced, which is hard to find in SF Friendly staffTasty sushi (I especially liked the raw shrimp nigiri) Cons: Service was a little bit slow when we went but they gave us miso soup on the house which we appreciated! Vibes: Casual, good for satisfying sushi cravings

Yelp check-in = 1 free Sake with Omakase.Sadly for me, after my Las Vegas (LV) trip, I am taking a break from drinking. If you are following, you know why, lol.Quality/Quantity - What an amazing lunch menu, especially for SF!!Today we got the following:Yasai Maki - My first time trying this and it was a win! I am actually NOT a seaweed salad person, but this added a little more texture to the roll.Sake Maki - Fresh, but I am spoiled with all the other sushi places I frequent. Where they are both fresh and more generous with their portions.49er Roll - This was good and had generous portions. My only suggestion is to trim some of the lemon peel. It was a little too thick for my preference.Chicken Wings - Deep fried, how can you go wrong? I forced myself to ONLY eat two pieces as I am trying to eat healthier. My guest loved this and she ate the rest. Well, she took the last 3 pieces home to finish.Atmosphere - Medium size local business.Bench, table or counter seating.Sushi bar.Cool decor throughout. Two clean unisex bathrooms.Metered street parking, but not a problem today.Open 7 days a week from 11:30am to 5pm, 9pm, or 10pm. Service - 6 stars; Julie was so nice, patient, and professional. She went out of her way to take care of my senior guest. There was a minor issue with the bill, but she corrected it immediately and admitted that it was an owner issue. She took ownership of the issue unlike my dinner 3 days ago at Orla in LV.Price - $37 + generous tip.Inexpensive for all we got.And inexpensive for SF!!Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since November of 2022; we will be regular customers.

My mom talked this place up and she usually does not have an opinion where to go (Might be a Chinese parent thing lol) so we had to come try it out. They have a normal menu with your usual Japanese food but my mom liked this spot because of their happy hour specials.California rolls for only $5? Unagi Don only $10? Sign me up! When I saw they had pho, I didn't expect much because usually restaurants that try to do too much in types of cuisine, they lack quality. This place didn't pack quality, to us, at least. As you can see from the pictures, we ordered a lot of food for 4 people. It was hard to pass up all the happy hour specials. California Roll ($5, 6 pieces) My mom loves California Roll and my sister actually liked it a lot too. It's not heavy on the mayo and generous filling. Rice wasn't hard either.Tempura Purple Yam Roll ($6, 6 pieces) - This was unique. I was too busy letting my camera eat first that I forgot about this roll and didn't get to try it but the group said it was good.Alaska and Rock N'Roll - ($6, 6 pieces) Standard but good. The fish size in each one were big and had a nice bite. I love that they didn't skimp on the portions for happy hour.Gyoza ($5, 5 pieces) comes with usual ponzu sauce. Standard gyoza but a bit too fried for my liking. Kaarage ($10) this price was same on both the happy hour menu and the regular menu. I liked the chicken itself but it came with the same ponzu sauce and not the usual spicy mayo. I'd say portion wise, $10 isn't the great deal. My mom used this card that has deals for Richmond District businesses so the Kaarage was free for us. Unagi Don ($10) Places would charge $15-18 for this. The amount of eel they gave is an insane portion for $10 + you get radish and seaweed saladBeef pho ($10) $10 pho...? It can't be good right. Well, it was actually surprisingly decent. The broth was flavorful and clean. Good amount of noodles. I think 5 pieces of lean beef brisket. I liked how they didn't give me a garden on a plate like all Pho places do because it always ends up being wasted since there's too many mint leaves or bean sprouts left. They asked me if I wanted cooked bread sprouts in the pho which I appreciated. Can't beat it for $10 honestly. Where else can you get pho and sushi? The reason I'm writing this review is the service. It's ran by a close group of Chinese people. They were all laughing and chatting. The owner went around chatting to tables and recognized a lot of them too. That shows she cares to engage with the customers, laugh and have a good time. It was filled with a bunch of positive vibes. My mom seemed to be good friends with them and chatted with them a good amount. It was awesome to be round such a happy environment.
