Basil The Bold

Went here for lunch to try their Fried Chicken Burrito. They offer it with tomyum or larb flavor. I got to try both and found them to be very good (though I preferred the larb). It was also a considerable amount of food. I tried their mango sticky rice, but was not a fan. The sauce they included was almost more sour than sweet (a bit like yogurt).They said they are closing the grab-and-go location soon, but they do catering and have delivery options. I will likely order from them again at some point to try some of their other items.

Very weird new "restaurant" in the FiDi. The food is pre-made and is residing in a refrigerator. They reheat it when you buy it. Very depressing since across the way is a much better and fresh Osha Thai. Or, for cheaper eats, there's Osha Thai Express in One Market not far away. I will note that the staff is very friendly, but that can't save the "not good" 1-star food.Chicken Pad Thai: Essentially it's $18.46 for leftover Pad Thai where the noodles are kinda dry and sticky. The chicken bits were weird too. Like chunks of dark meat that were a little tough/dry and not seasoned. I feel like most Pad Thai elsewhere have thinner and moister chicken slices. Maybe if this was $5 in the Safeway deli section I'd be more forgiving, but almost $20 for this quality Pad Thai is sad.Shrimp Massaman Curry: I believe in second chances, but my second visit only confirmed that it wasn't just a bad one-off experience with the pad thai. $19 for economy class airline quality massaman curry with 6 small shrimp, dry rice and dry bok choy. Plus the curry itself was dry. This whole reheating leftovers just doesn't work.

Basil the Bold is a great new addition to the FiDi food scene. I've always wondered why there isn't a good Thai place for a quick lunch pick up. But now there is. And it is great. It is maybe a little more expensive than you'd want to pay for lunch, but what in FiDi isn't? And they give tons of food. I was full for hours. The flavor was so good and the meat was so juicy. I would definitely recommend. And for people who care about the service, the ladies that work there are so nice and friendly!

Great tasting fried tofu! Kind of spicy but still manages to remain light. I'm looking forward to trying everything on the menu. Catering also available for those of us who are always figuring out what to order for office events. Love this place!

The massaman curry was delicious and so was the tofu. Love the grab and go concept. It's perfect to bring back to the office when in a rush.

Honestly, I was disappointed. Food quality and portions were lacking. I certainly wouldn't go back.

Walked by at lunch and was intrigued about the Thai burrito. I've tried sushi burritos, Indian burritos, Senor Sisig... This is by far my favourite. It's expensive but the burritos are like two meals because it's so big. I got the chicken larb burrito and am shocked at how flavorful it is. There are so many ingredients mixed in - mango, chicken, carrots, spice, sticky rice, cucumber... so many good textures. Definitely coming back!!!!Also spun the wheel and got a free mango sticky rice!

Great location and tasty flavors by the piers, very fast service and confident recommendations. Must try fried chicken larb and Massaman CurryFree snacks too! 5/5
