I first saw Banán in Hawaii and always wanted to try it, so I was so excited to see they're now in SF! After dinner at Saru Sushi Bar, we stopped by, and it was the perfect way to end the night.I got the chocolate Banán with mochi and strawberries, and it was so good. It tastes like ice cream, but it's actually just bananas blended with simple, healthy ingredients. It's creamy, chocolatey, and doesn't feel heavy at all.The staff was super nice and made the whole experience great. If you're looking for a casual spot with healthier dessert option that still feels indulgent, definitely check this place out. I'm so glad I finally got to try it and can't wait to go back!

I was super curious to try this spot after hearing their ice cream is 100% plant based and made entirely from bananas. As I walked in, I loved the bright colors and the way the space was decorated. It's a cozy spot with limited seating, but we managed to grab a table pretty quickly.I ordered their "Chocolate Brownie Cup" and added macadamia nut honey butter. The butter was delicious, and nothing like I've had before. It also paired really well with the other toppings. Although, I found the Chocolate Banán a bit too rich for my taste. So I'll probably try something else next time! Nonetheless, it's a solid spot for a sweet treat.

The Mana Smoothie was spectacular!!! It has macademia nut honey, plant-based vanilla protein, coconut milk, bananas, blue spirulina, and Himalayan pink salt... a delicious blend of flavors and a perfectly refreshing post-workout drink. The Build Your Bowl I got was not my favorite, I'll have to go back and re-do my order. Maybe I'll try one of the pre-made bowls, so that the flavors and textures meld together better. Though I'm tempted to just go for the Mana Smoothie again...The service was wonderful and the atmosphere is light and airy, I had a great experience. Banán is quite expensive, though, so the price point is something to keep in mind.

Admittedly, before coming here, I knew nothing about Banan. However, as a huge fan of all things Hawaii, I was immediately intrigued when my friend told me how this was their first location here on the mainland. Of course, I was even more intrigued once I heard about what they specialize in - non-dairy soft serve made primarily with bananas. While the non-diary aspect is probably what appeals to folks the most, especially anyone that's lactose intolerant, the banana part is what got me excited! Not only is it unique, but I could only imagine how good it would taste with so many flavor combinations!Located right in the heart of Noe Valley, Banan stands out from its neighbors like a bit of an oasis. In part because the surrounding area is nothing like its roots in Hawaii, but also because it's one of just a couple of places around here to get dessert. However, unlike Easy Breezy down the street, Banan's offerings are a bit more interesting. Beyond their "banan" soft serve itself, nearly every one of their various smoothies and banan combinations (you can also create your own of the latter) sounds so good! Strawberry Liliko'i, Paradise Passion, Matcha Mochi, Strawberry Shortcake...the only real dilemma was trying to decide which of these to try first!-- CHUNKADELIC - Banana Banan Topped with Macadamia Nut Honey Butter, Dark Chocolate, Shaved Coconut, Honey, and Nana Joe's Granola...$9 (cup)This seemed like a logical pick, given how well bananas pair with each of the toppings. In particular, the mix of the macadamia nut butter, granola, and honey tasted really good with the banan while the dark chocolate helped to cut down on their collective sweetness.-- MATCHA MOCHI - Matcha Banan Topped with Mochi, Shaved Almonds, Strawberries, Black Sesame Seeds, and Honey...$9 (cup)Matcha flavored banan initially seemed odd, but this was so good! The banana was actually pretty subtle, so this tasted like a matcha dessert...with a lot of toppings that go great with matcha! Although the black sesame didn't do much for me, I loved how everything else complemented each other! With both types of banan, the thing that I liked most about them was how they didn't taste nearly as sweet as I thought (feared?) they would. I'm not sure if it's because of the type of the banana they use, its ripeness when it gets used, the amount in the recipe, or some other reason (and/or all of the above), but the banan has just the right sweetness to it. Plus, it doesn't have any added sugars in it (all of it comes from the bananas), which is even more impressive! Considering the relative lack of options for dessert in Noe Valley, Banan's pick of SF neighborhoods to expand into was a solid one. That's without even mentioning all of the families that live in the area, the nice weather this side of the city gets, and how plentiful parking is at night (certainly less so during the day, though). However, even if there were more alternatives around, Banan and their banan bowls are so unique and tasty that I would (and will) come back regardless!FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

I've been wanting to try this place since it originated in Hawaii! I didn't realize it was so popular, so I'm excited they opened a location in SF. The flavors are bold, the fruit is fresh, and the vibrant atmosphere makes it even better. Plus, they have merch if you want to grab some!

If you're craving a light and delicious dessert, I highly recommend Banan!!! Everything is banana-based which was so unique and I love that they let you try samples! The Banana Banan and the Chocolate Banan were both so yummy but I decided to go with Chunkadelic which is the Banana Banan. The toppings were the perfect addition and the consistency was on point!! We also tried the Mana smoothie and the vanilla protein was definitely overpowering but it was still good! Definitely coming back to try the acai bowl!

Who would've thought that you could made an incredibly creamy soft serve just from bananas? Banan from Honolulu has capitalized on this idea with truly incredible results! The banana flavor was their OG vanilla equivalent, and the chocolate had a deliciously dark, semi-sweet cacao flavor. I got both of these topped with crunchy Nana Joes granola, a scoop of creamy peanut butter, and a scoop of chunky macadamia nut honey butter. The soft serve cup was assembled beautifully, and the nuttiness and crunchiness of the toppings balanced out the thick, creamy soft serve, which was flavorful without being too sweet (there's no added sugar)! What a delicious yet healthy treat!

Finally got to visit the new Banan location and it was delicious! They don't do any added sugar, so it really is just blended up bananas. The chocolate chunks aren't very sweet which I enjoyed, but thought the coconut whipped cream could be skipped. Unfortunately the price is a bit high. I paid around $11 for a cup with 2 toppings. The service was great though and there are clean tables inside to enjoy!

I was in the area and I was craving a sweet treat so here I am.I came in and I ordered the Chunkadelic cup which is apparently pretty popular here. The Chunkadelic cup was light and creamy. I like how the all of the components work so well together from the shaved coconut, the granola, dark chocolate, and the macadamia nut butter. The banana soft serve itself has no added sugar which is why it's not as sweet as you may expect. The service here was alright nothing out of the ordinary. The shop itself is kinda small but has a little bit of seating inside for people to enjoy. Try it out if you like. :)

I love this place. Delicious frozen treats that are dairy and sugar free and still taste phenomenal? Sign me up. I highly recommend the Strawbery Liliko'i if you'd like to keep it truly added sugar free. I get mine with extra passion fruit and it's 10/10. The people are really friendly, too, and there are plenty of clean tables where you can sit inside. Thanks for opening a business with fun treats I don't have to feel guilty about!
