Baan Yai never disappoints. The food is amazing. This time we got the Tom Kha soup and pad Thai. Both were delicious, big portions, and reasonably priced. This is my go to Thai restaurant. The service is fast and the ambiance is casual.

Stumbled upon this place after being in the Marina and this was a great eat! It's around a 25-minute walk from the Marina but I didn't mind. We were seated immediately inside and it seems to be more like a lunch place rather than a dinner place.- Pad See Ew - This Pad See Ew was pretty good. The egg was covered in soy sauce flavor and the noodles were very tender. I kind of regret not getting it with beef instead but the chicken was wonderful.- Pumpkin Curry - I've never seen Pumpkin Curry at a Thai restaurant before so I was excited to try. To be honest, I'm not sure if the flavor really differs from a regular red curry but I guess they did add pumpkin in there for an extra oomph. Regardless, the flavors were still delicious especially with rice. Wouldn't recommend getting it with vegetables as the protein option as there were already vegetables in the curry. The serving size was quite large and we brought a lot of it back home.Very solid Thai place in SF that I would definitely come back for. I think next time, I would like to order some of their dishes that I don't see much on other Thai menus to try something different.

Cute little 'street food' thai joint owned and operated by a mother/daughter combo. Flavors were authentic -- and the hot sour soup delish! the decor strives to take you to a warm evening in thailand with little table and stool seating by a busy street; definitely a unique add to lombard.

Tom yum soup was a bit too much of tomato flavor instead of the lemongrass fragrant taste. Pad See Ew is Drunken Noodles and was adorned. They didn't use Asian broccoli but regular broccoli for this dish, otherwise, it would have been above notch. One has to ask for their spicy peppers and it complemented well with this dish along with other dishes.Green Curry was yum! Pineapple fried rice was spot on. Casual hole in the wall kind of spot with waitress service and the decor is hipster meets Thai. Great grab if one is craving Thai around here.

Popped in for dinner because it was next to our hotel. We were the only ones in the restaurant and I'm not sure why....this place was so so good!! The waiter was young, kind and attentive. We ordered the drunken noodles and Moo Grob Gra Praw with a side of brown rice. The drunken noodles were flavorful and saucy. The pork in the Moo Grob Gra Praw was crispy, tender and delicious. The portions were decent. My only complaint was it was very chilly in the restaurant because the front window was open when we went in. When we sat down, the owner closed the window but it was still cold.

This smaller restaurant had empty seats but the 2 staff members were too busy to seat us for awhile or take our orders. We came in knowing what we wanted but couldn't order a good 15 min after arriving. We just ordered the crab omurice. It was good but for the price and slow service, probably not coming back

This place definitely had an authentic feel to it which is hard to come by in the marina sometimes. The curries were of perfect spice and consistency, really liked the gyoza and chicken wing appetizers too. That eggplant fish and pad Thai was also standout. This may now be my go to Thai in the marina, I'll be back!

Best Thai spot in the Marina. I am so picky with my Thai food and this place hits the spot when I'm craving for good Asian food. We were so pleasantly surprised that this place is actually a legitimate, authentic Thai place. I'd skip the egg rolls but everything we ordered was so so good! Service was very attentive. It's a small (but cute) place but there's always space for walk-ins since this is more of a takeout place. Great food - this will be my new Thai spot in the Marina!

One of the best Thai spots in the Marina for sure. My friends came across this spot on Yelp by chance since it was in walking distance-- we were inadequately prepared for how good the food was LOLOur party of 3 walked in on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. Kind of a street food vibe, pretty trendy decor. Our server was quick and courteous, though stretched a bit thin (only one server and one cook for the entire restaurant that night???). We split everything family style.EGG ROLLS: Standard veggie filling. Their house-made sauce was fairly appetizing, not too sweet.GREEN CURRY (chicken): Just spicy enough for the spice-adverse (me) to enjoy!! Sweet with strong lemongrass and lime flavors. The chicken was tender and juicy. Recommend ordering a few bowls of rice to balance it out.PAD SEE EW (chicken): Their sauce is more umami than sweet, but goes well with the chicken. Could use more veggies, but otherwise delicious.TOM KHA: This is the best tom kha I've had in the bay. Creamy, aromatic, while light and refreshing from the citrus. SO GOOD.Surprised at the lower reviews, I thought everything was flavorful and seasoned evenly. We had nothing but positives to say after leaving the restaurant.

Came here on a Thursday night and service was pretty quick. My friend and I split the pad kee mao which was very solid and reasonably priced. I thought it had the perfect amount of sauce and flavor. I also liked how the server didn't rush us with the check and let us sit and enjoy for quite a while. Overall, I would definitely return.
