Good food nice atmosphere. It was a rainy night and I wanted New England clam chowder. I had $1 oysters and beer and totally forgot about the darn chowder!Great service. Good local waterfront hang.

Casual restaurant dining experience. They do have the option to make a reservation online which can be nice if they're pretty busy.The staff were friendly from beginning to end The outdoor dining area has a water view and heaters available. We sat outside and enjoyed the overall feel of the place. We ordered the watermelon lemonade and pinneapple mocktails and they were nice and refreshing. For appetizers we had the fried calamari and the crab cake. Both of these plates were okay, I would rate them 3 out of 5 since they were edible but bland on taste. We also ordered the pulled pork sandwich, this one I definitely do not recommend. I'm not sure if it's normally like this but the meat was extremely dried out (kind of like when you reheat meat over and over again) and not enjoyable at all.

New Year's Day Dinner -- 5 stars!Food and cocktails were amazing and Paul was fantastic. Great food and great service. Fries - Must order. Crispy on the outside, soft in potato in the middle.Oysters - Fresh and delicious Winter Kale Salad - Big portion, so yummy!Tavern Burger - Loved the char flavor from the wood-fired grill.Coming back for their BRUNCH for sure.

Came here for the happy hour after a Dubs game. Friendly service and $1 oysters can't be beat! We also had a couple of G&T's, the crab cake (good but maybe not great) and the fish and chips were very good! Ended it all with a scoop of ice cream and a warm chocolate chip cookie. The perfect afternoon treat for two!

Swung by and just happened to arrive perfectly on time for the 2pm start time to happy hour. Happy hour includes $1 oysters!!! The best oysters I've had in the city along the waterfront. They were very very salty like the ocean (yum). The waiters were quick and helpful. We had a view of the water.

On the particular evening of our visit, the Warriors were on the road, and Chase Center was dark. Because of a cyclone bomb and atmospheric river, the streets were nearly empty. To no surprise, so was the Tavern. We enjoyed a chill moment hanging out with the personnel and watching a snowy field on the Thursday Night Football screen.In our discussions, I asked about dinner service when there's an event at the Chase Center. We were told that the place fills up completely, with everyone arriving more or less at the same time and then trying to leave right before the start of the event. It's obvious that dealing with a large group like that requires a lot of coordination and concentration.Although we were tempted by the paella on the menu, we ended up ordering two of our standards: a caesar salad with shrimp, and a burger. Both exceeded expectation by a big margin. ATwater Tavern seemed miles better than the places in the East Bay where we watch sporting events on hanging screens.The hazy IPA and New Zealand sauvignon blanc that we ordered were perfect complements to the food on our plates. Expectations in the drink department were met but not exceeded.I recommend this Tavern enthusiastically and would be happy to return any time when it's not packed to the rafters.

Best place in the city for $1oyster happy hour. Parking can be tricky if there is a game so I suggest public transit or walking. Restaurant is great and outdoor seating is perfect on a nice day.

Solid lunch place, very cute interior, and amazing service! Had a pretty good burger a here and did a split of salad and fries as a side - both portions were very generous. Their water lemon lemonade is amazing.

Great location for a pre-Chase event or pre-Giants game. There is indoor or outdoor seating. The service was great. The prices are not bad. The food was just ok. Nothing special in my opinion. The menu is standard: burgers, a few salads, chicken dishes, a pizza etc.We had shrimp cocktails, a Caesar Salad with added chicken, and a grilled chicken sandwich with fries.The added chicken was dry and kind of tasteless. The Caesar Salad had a lot of added fried capers. Didn't care for that. The fries were overcooked and tasteless.The shrimp cocktail was good. There were five pieces in a tangy cocktail sauce.Again, it's a great location to either venue and the service was great.
