It was a 4* overall but I upgraded it to 5 because the owner and staff were nice.- Curly fries: the reason I went there. It was good, generous portion. They put harissa into the ketchup. I liked it - Grilled honey shrimp: the dressing was a little too tart but it was offset by the sweetness from grilled grape and creaminess of white bean puree. I love the salad. 4.7/5. Would be a perfect salad for me if it was less tangy.- Fish sandwich: freshly fried, crispy fish on the housemafe brioche with some slaw. The bun was dry. The sauce wasn't prominent enough. I will skip this next time.- Sourdough IPA was fruity, very good. The restaurant is suitable to bring kids. I also saw group of people drinking from the wine shop next door.

Truth is, I think about this fish sandwich more than I'd like to admit... ambiance of the restaurant is very good back porch area is great for meeting or just reading, perhaps even doing work. Service brings food to you which makes it worthy of a reasonable tip. But damn, that fish sandwich... soo good...

My friend and I needed a spot to catch up on gossip before taking in a show nearby. We settled on Arbor, which for some odd reason I had never been to before. After ordering at the counter by the door, we chose a nice spot in the garden in the back, which provides a beautiful and romantic setting. Live music was playing during our time there. Indoor seating is also available but most people sat outside on the night of my visit, which was a bit warm. A few tables had folks enjoying bottles of wine with some snacks. Overall this is a nice casual spot to dine alone or in a group, large or small, for a quick meal and/or a drink or two.The menu has small plates, salads, burgers, sandwiches and dessert along with a selection of wine and beer. Think comfort food with a California touch. I ordered a Cobb salad with an Arnold Palmer to drink. The food was delivered too our table. The salad was a good size and had fresh and crisp lettuce, tender chicken, a perfectly cooked hard boiled egg, blue cheese, avocado and bacon. I thought the prices were fair for the quality and quantity of food, especially in this area. I've eaten at many of the other restaurants in Hayes Valley and cannot say the same of the other spots that seem to adjust their pricing to take advantage of the theater crowd. Parking is available on the street in the surrounding area.

Awesome back patio, it gets packed on a sunny day, but the inside is nice as well. Great wine selection obviously, being connected to the wine shop, and they do have happy hour certain days. We weren't there on one of those days unfortunately!Order at the front and they will deliver the food as it is made. The menu is great, interesting flavors and feels pretty healthy with something for everyone. Believe they change up the menu items/ingredients a bit seasonally. I absolutely loved the grilled shrimp bowl and could probably eat that every day. My partner got the falafel bowl, and we shared a side of fried chicken. You know, for the protein! We enjoyed everything we ate and would definitely come back for food and wine. It did take a while for the food to all come out though and we were getting a little nervous as we had to head to the theater. Hence no pic of chicken - we ate it quickly. And since it is delivered as it is made, I had pretty much finished my food by the time my partner's dish came out, and I'm a pretty slow eater. But everything is hot and fresh! Something to keep in mind if on a time crunch, but we still made it to the theatre fine.

I work in the Civic Center Area and Arbor is one of my favorite spots for lunch. Arbor is a casual dining restaurant, as you order at the counter and food is delivered to your table or you can order takeout. Their outdoor area is really lovely, with lots of greenery and bistro tables. This is a great place for lunch when the weather is nice in SF. To me, it feels like an oasis in the middle of a long workday. The menu is thoughtful and food is quite good. My favorite dish is the Grilled Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp salad, with shrimp, kale, arugula, fennel, butter bean purée, roasted mushrooms, grapes, and a lemon vinaigrette. The salad is satisfying, flavorful, and perfectly dressed. I've had a couple of the other salads and tried the seasoned curly fries too (yum!), but I keep coming back to this salad time and again. The last time I came to visit, my friend had the burger and fries which she really seemed to enjoy. Another thing I appreciate about Arbor (as someone who is dairy intolerant) is that they have dairy-free soft serve ice cream options for dessert! Overall, Arbor is a great little spot in Hayes Valley worth checking out.

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful, romantic garden in the back. The garden is large, with about fifteen tables, including some for big groups of six. There are many heaters, though not quite one heater per table. There's also a public parklet outside the restaurant where anyone can sit, even if you don't order anything. If you are sitting in the garden, you can order and pay on your phone by scanning the QR code. They have carafes available with water, self-serve. You order at the counter if you are sitting inside. Relaxed, cozy, casual atmosphere where you can feel comfortable sitting and chatting and not worry about needing to give up your table. Great wine selection as well. The food was good! I got the chili cheese curly fries. They were surprisingly crunchy, which curly fries often aren't. Despite being a "small plate" it was a very large portion, definitely enough to share. I think I would prefer just the fries without the chili cheese part next time. I would also be interested to try their eggplant gratin and the mac & cheese.

Arbor has one of the cutest backyard patios imo! On a nice day, it definitely takes the dining experience up a notch because it's super serene with all the plants and shade.I usually order the garlic butter shrimp salad that's full of seasonal veggies! I've been wanting to try the burger next with some curly fries.UPDATE: FYI, just saw a mouse in the backyard patio area. T.T Apparently this is a common sight here. Eek!

I really enjoyed arbor and their concept, high end food, wine, beer in a casual and beautiful setting. Also, don't know how but the servers were able to deliver the food to us without us placing a number on our table or giving our name. We ordered the burger and a side of curly fries. the sauces with the fries were fantastic, i'd love to buy a large of their ketchup like sauce. The burger was perfectly cooked and made of great quality meat. I will definitely be coming back to try their wine/beer and fish sandwich.

Arbor was a disaster from start to finish. I ordered a Cobb salad, and it was easily the worst I've ever had. The chicken was fatty and ice-cold, clearly frozen. The egg tasted old, like it was pre-boiled days ago. Despite asking for no ranch, they served the salad unseasoned, with no salt, no pepper, just bland and careless. To top it all off, there were rats running around the restaurant. It's unbelievable this place survives in Hayes Valley with such poor standards. Avoid at all costs.

What a find! Looking for a quick tasty meal after attending the SF Ballet. This place fit the bill as all the other places were packed! Great simple menu and ordered the Garden Salad with Shrimp on a bed of lettuce with lemon vinaigrette dressing ! Delicious and ordered quickly at the counter and grabbed a nearby table. Will definitely visit again for a quick, tasty and reasonably priced meal! Loved the stream lined modern ambience and quick service-patio and garden at the rear of the restaurant and indoor and out door seating! Great service and friendly atmosphere!
