Thai Tea Roti- come on a hot plate that sizzles as you poor on the Thai tea drizzle. Nice and crispy rotti pairs well with the ice cream and drizzle.Love coming here for some desserts. Their toast and drinks are great but today we decided to just get one of their roti. Will definitely get again. Street parking can be hard around the area but we usually come at night and do not have much issue.

I've been a dedicated U:Dessert Story fan and continued going (increasingly sporadically) even as the price increase from $15 to $22 in the last 3 years, but their Oct 2024 disgusting health inspection violation had me looking elsewhere for the first time. I decided to try Buttercup since it was nearby. We got the milo kakigori and honey bread toast. Like another reviewer noted, I think the honey bread is too dense and chewy, when it should be more fluffy. It was a little burnt and rather small. I enjoyed it but personally wouldn't order it in the future.I was a huge fan of the milo kakigori, surprisingly. Chocolate flavors in Asian dessert stores can be a little underwhelming and not sweet enough, but there was a good mix of oreo crumbs, the flavoring throughout the shaved ice was sweet enough and enjoyable, and the brownies were good but not overly decadent. Please note that as it is Japanese-style kakigori, the texture of the ice is crunchy and not melt in your mouth snow like Korean bingsu. I enjoyed the icy texture with the cookie crumble. Staff was nice and prompt, desserts came quickly with great presentation, and there was no wait on a Sunday evening 7 pm. I also appreciated I could hear ourselves without overwhelming music like at U:Dessert. The tv screen is rather distracting as it flips through pictures of their desserts, but using the 2000's style PowerPoint transition of blinds and squares.I'll be back to try the roti and mango kakigori - excited to explore more of the menu!

Came in on a Friday night around 7:30 PM and there was still table availability. We were sat down immediately and noticed that the space was very clean and organized. It was four of us, but we were a little full from dinner so we ordered the roti with Thai tea ice cream, and a side of coconut ice cream. The roti came out promptly and it was absolutely delicious. It was piping hot and we were able to add the syrup cream that comes with it and eat it with both ice cream scoops. I can't wait to go back and try more of their desserts. I would say that because it was a Friday night by the time we left around 8 PM and started getting packed.

A very cute dessert spot in a central spot in the mission. We came on a little date night on a week night and found cozy seating (they have lots of benches with pillows) and were able to order right away. Soon after, there were several other groups that came in (including a larger group of friends and other couples), and there was enough seating for everyone. We ordered the mango shaved ice and it was incredible! Heaping piles of mango and condensed milk and finely shaved ice. It was so delicious and a huge portion. One was definitely enough for the two of us.

Came here with a party of 7 and we were seated at a large table. We ordered the Hong Kong shaved ice, matcha red bean shaved ice, and pina colada shaved ice. The kakigori here in general is good and has a nice texture to the ice!! Each order comes with additional syrup depending on the order (e.g for the matcha red bean shaved ice, it came with condensed milk and matcha syrup on the side and for the pina colada, it came with coconut milk and more pineapple jam).I enjoyed the matcha the most since it had a slightly bitter kick to it coupled with the matcha ice cream that helped counteract the sweetness of the adzuki and mochi (reminds me more of tangyuan the Chinese dessert). The Hong Kong was good, but definitely for people with higher sugar preference in general. The pina colada is their only vegan option and comes with fresh pineapple too, which is very yummy/good for people who are in the mood for a fruitier option.

I had to find a dessert spot that opened late. This place closes at 11 pm. My husband and I decided to visit this place after watching a show at the new Conservatory Theater Center. The dessert menu offers a variety of options, including ice cream toasts, shaved ice, and ice cream sundaes. All the pictures looked delicious, and we ended up ordering two items: HK Shaved Ice and Crunchy Honey Toast.**HK Shaved Ice: 8/10** I expected the shaved ice to be smooth like Korean bingsoo, but I was wrong; it was chunky and hard. However, the HK milk flavor was a perfect 10/10 for sweetness, and they provided condensed milk on the side for topping.**Crunchy Honey Toast: 7/10** The toast was not store-bought-- I think it was homemade. It was decent but not impressive. It wasn't fluffy; in fact, it was quite dense, and the portion was small for the price of $17. The best part was the real honey they offered for drizzling on top, which I really enjoyed.Perfect dessert place to end the night. I would love to return and try more desserts!

Stopped by for a sweet treat with the girlies after dining few doors down at Bottega. A Buttercup Dessert House was not quite my favorite but it definitely has potential. In fairness, this review is based on one dish and I would come back to at least try something else. Overview: Food: 6/10Service: 8/10Ambiance: 7/10 Parking: 5/10 (Doesn't count toward review)What we ordered: Thai Tea Bingsoo - 6/10 rating FOOD: 6/10The girls and I shared a Thai Tea Bingsoo. The Bingsoo was more like shaved ice and was not smooth like Korean Bingsoo. The ice was very chunky and icy. The toppings were good (Thai tea, condensed milk, boba). However, the cubed pieces of bread served were just plain bread and I thought it was okay. On the menu, there is a variety of Sundae's, Roti's, Milkshakes, Bingoo's, Toasts, etc. SERVICE: 8/10 Staff are friendly and checked up once in awhile. AMBIANCE: 7/10The ambiance is decent and cute. They played good Pop and R&B music which is my vibe. There is a decent amount of seating whether you're a solo diner, party of 2, or party of 3+. PARKING: 5/10Located on Mission, parking is hit or miss and surrounded by many meter based parking.

I'm so glad that the mission district is finally getting more dessert spots!I've come here a few times now with both smaller and larger groups and haven't had an issue with getting a table (unlike at some other unnamed dessert spots!). Quick and efficient service! They have many drink and dessert options, but I recommend getting the toasts and the rotis. My favorites are the Sweet Cream Corn Toast (a delightful combo of sweet and savory) and the Pandan Roti (the crispy, warm roti pairs shockingly well with the pandan sauce). The kakigori (shaved ice) has good flavor options, but the ice was a little too coarse for my liking.Definitely stop by if you're looking for a sweet treat in the area!

Came here at my daughter's request and I didn't expect that I was getting treated myself! Located off of 23rd St & Valencia, it was not hard to find, but street parking may be a challenge unless you get there early. They are opened only in the late afternoon/evenings from 5pm-11pm (M-TH) 4:30pm on (Fri-Sun). The place was somewhat small, it appears it could accommodate 20-25 people at a time, however service is fast, we received our order under 10 mins. It was very clean and cozy too!Ordered the Hong Kong Shaved Ice and the Thai Tea Rotti. Also received a complimentary scoop of ice cream through the Yelp app. At first I thought the prices were too high for desserts, but once I got my order, the price does justify the portion size; it was HUGE! I think at least 3-4 people can share an order. Since there were only 2 of us, we had plenty to go. Great dessert place experience! Will definitely come back to try others, and will bring more people to share the desserts with.

Love the variety here (various types of dessert & plenty of S.E. Asian flavors to choose from)! We got the Banana Brulee Toast, the Banana Nutty Parfait, & the Iced Milos -- although all satisfied our late night sweet tooth cravings, I will say both items were VERY sweet & all our stomaches did not like us afterwards lol. Also I wish they better balanced the ratio between the components/toppings as well. For instance, the toast was quite hard, got boring after eating two bites (bc in reality, it was just insanely sweet toast with not much going on), & overall wish it included more banana. Meanwhile, the parfait was super creamy & heavily drowned in whipped cream (like 80%), so also not much banana flavor going on here. Overall, would come back to try a few other items I saw on the menu (like the mango sticky rice series), but wouldn't say this place is the best quality in terms of desserts; just easy & convenient since they've got a lot of options for everyone.
