I was going to this market last year 2019. Then I went back like 4-5 times this year to get the glasses. They had beer glasses at 3 for $1. I got all these beer brands and I like the beer glass collection so much. Got drinks and candy here. Sunset.

You think it's going to be a corner store with maybe some wilty lettuce or a cold case of random cheeses and maybe some homemade hummus, but then you walk in, and you think, How is this place so big?But it's not a supermarket. It's a market. Like so many other San Francisco markets. There are many of them right here on Irving Street. So it's competing with all kinds of other places, and its selection shouldn't be this extensive, but it is.It's annoying, too, because all these other people are buying all this stuff, and it takes forever to get to the cashier and leave with your goodies.Good in a pinch, but I wouldn't waste time looking for parking just to pick something up from here.

Dishonest, avoid! They blatantly tried to scam me, just like other reviewers mentioned. I gave the guy a $20, and he said I gave him a $1. I had no cash and just went to the ATM beforehand, so I literally had only $20s in my wallet. This wasn't an honest mistake by him either - it was clear he was trying to steal from me.I will never go back here, and I encourage you to avoid it too.

Look at the amazing deals throughout the store and you will quickly realize that the prices actually increase! When I confronted them about this and asked them to honor the 10.99 tag I was told "if you come back again I will give you the discount..." Terrible!

You can ALWAYS count on the very best fruit in town from the folks at Irving Market. Phenomenal peaches, cherries, nectarines AND, oh my, the mangoes are out of this world. I kid you not. These guys taste the fruit before they buy the wholesale boxes. They have been the owners for decades, and they always, year after year, have the most remarkable fruit selections.

Overcharge for items and added in mysterious prices, when confronted on it, the guy just says "everything is expensive these days" that might be true, but it doesn't help that you're upcharging. Never coming back here.

Go here for produce! There are always specials advertised outside so I always keep my eyes peeled. Just got a bag of mushrooms for $1 and I've also gotten cartons of strawberries $1 each!! They also have non-perishables and things like yogurt/cheese/ processed meats but those are always marked up so I don't recommend. Haven't had any negative experiences with the people working at the reg here either.

If you can avoid this place, do it. I've been there twice and both were bad.. on this last one, they tried to give me change for a $10 bill when I paid with a $20.

I have been going to this market for years now to pick up snacks and fresh fruits and produce on my way for work and also for home use. I have always been able to rely on them for some of the best fresh fruits and produce at competitive prices. Sam and family are accommodating to the point they will bring out produce they had put away when I come in late just before they close the store. I have come to prefer them to the markets in Chinatown and the Mission that I used to go to for my produce. They also have a huge selection of wines available at good prices. I Highly recommend that you check them out!

They've got great produce at affordable prices. They're big enough to have a lot more grocery items than your usual neighborhood store.
