Food: I have tried the today's special. The portion of food is full enough. No need to grab another quick bite in the afternoon.Service: Quick and accurate. I sat down, finished the food and left the place within 20 minutes. Ambiance: a bit dark. Not a problem. This is a small business for sure. Nothing fancy.

Got the Gyudon and Agedashi tofu. The Gyudon has a generous portion of rice which came with egg which is nice. The meat, however, was a bit on the tougher side than what I's expect. It is quite flavorful and its nice that the sauce seasoned the rice. It'd be more worth it if there were more meat or even more veggies as well. The Agedashi tofus isn't prepared quite like how Agedashi tofu usually is and the sauce is quite salty but flavorful. It's decent as long as I don't think of it as Agedashi tofu. Main thing about this restaurant is that it's a small quiet place and the service is nice and accommodating. Over all I enjoyed hanging out here and wouldn't mind trying their ramen next time since it looks like that is their specialty.

I've had 21 Taste House tagged as a bookmark for a long time and we could never get to it because they're closed on Saturdays. Well we finally got it a on Father's Day! Their menu has changed over the years and now they basically sell ramen. We were very welcomed and treated with such warmth the entire time. I really wanted to give them a higher rating. Unfortunately, there are a couple of misses today. We tried:Tokyo style Tan Tan Ramen Combo $14.95 -- has sesame paste and peanut butter so this has a very strong Chinese influence. It was good. You can ask for spicy but it's really not that spicy. Deep fried Whole Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab Ramen $18 -- this was plain but if you're a sucker for deep fried soft shell crab, definitely get this. Homemade Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen $15.95 -- this was supposed to be very spicy but actually it was just fine. I loved the roasted pork and pork shoulder meat in here. Delicious meat. Broth was good but typical. Deep fried ikageso (squid) -- these had a greasy after taste and the squid was overly chewy, making me think they were frozen and fried in bad oilDeep fried Tempura Vegas -- these were surprisingly good. Corn, slivers of carrots and little bit of cabbage, all mixed with potato starch flour and deep fried.Karaage -- these are not traditional karaage but more like Chinese style fried chicken. They weren't very good. 21 Taste House is a small restaurant that has been on Ocean for a decade. We parked about 3 blocks away in the residential neighborhood. I don't want to sound like a ramen snob but having just come back from Tokyo, I can taste a clear difference in the ramen. It's not bad here but certainly not at the 5 stars that everyone is leaving. This is average ramen for the area but I appreciated the friendly service.

Very delicious and affordable ramen spot. I ordered the B12, which was very good tantan. We had the gyoza and karaage potstickers which were delicious as well. The portions are impressive for the price. Service was great, and the inside was clean and quiet.

We came at 6 pm on a Sunday and it was empty. The restaurant itself is kind of run down and needs renovation/ more pleasant lightning and decor.Their ramen is ok. The soup has a strange taste that isn't present in most Japanese ramen restaurants. The broth is kind of watery and not rich. The pork inside the ramen is delicious though! Super tender and soft, melts in your mouth.

Never heard of it. And frankly it was just happenstance that I walked into this somewhat nondescript ramen shop on Ocean Avenue. It was empty just after the lunch hour, which didn't surprise me since I would've missed it if I blinked. Imagine my surprise when I perused the menu and discovered fifteen different ramen bowls listed. They take ramen seriously. There was a subsection devoted to their in-house specialty broth enhanced with lobster and other seafood. I decided to order the $13.95 Paiku-men Ramen which was topped with slow-cooked beef ribs left in the pot for eight hours. Truthfully, the ribs were on the verge of being rubbery, but the tonkotsu broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles were appropriately al dente, and the hard- boiled egg was present and accounted for. Interestingly they put in mixed greens which actually worked and sprinkled fried onions as a garnish (photo: https://yelp.to/f3zjlZzl98). It definitely exceeded my expectations and left me intrigued enough to consider coming back for the lobster broth. Hopefully I won't be the only customer in here.FOOD - 4 stars...aside from the overcooked meat, it was a fine bowlAMBIANCE - 3 stars...a bit dark and rather lonelySERVICE - 3.5 stars..,attentive to meTOTAL - 4 stars...they deserve more attention for their ramen creationsRELATED - Exploring the Outer Mission? Portions are generous, especially for the prices. Definitely a no frills, hole in the wall place to stop by for a quick bite or take out. Good place to go if you're a broke college kid, so it's nice that it's by city college and SF state. My favorite was the chashu bowl, which felt never ending. You can easily take it home and make some more rice to stretch it out.

The best ramen! I had been trying different ramen restaurants around the city since my favorite spot on the Fillmore street closed, and I came to this place. It was amazing, the best ramen in the city. The price is also very reasonable.A must try!
