Yi Sushi

The quality of this place improved dramatically after the change in ownership. They went to take out only during COVID-19 and didn't seems to recover. The new owners remodeled the place, so you can have a nice dinner with table service or get takeout. They menu has a wide variety and never disappoints. The staff is extremely friendly.

I went around 3:00 in the afternoon. When I went in I noticed how I was the only person in the restaurant. The hostess was friendly and outgoing.I ordered a chicken Katy's bento box with a adagio beer to wash it down. I thought it was weird that there were at least three people behind the counter preparing fish, while the restaurant was empty. My food came out under 15 minutes. I had a difficult time identifying what cut of chicken the katsu was because it appeared to have been tenderized to the point where it was only barely an inch thick. The best thing in my bento box was the salad. The beer was very carbonated and unfortunately was hard to finish. Overall the experience was just ok.

We ordered through Grubhub so we can't discuss the restaurant. Really good food a bit salty, delicious nonetheless. We had several different dishes and we enjoyed all of them. The fish on the rolls was very fresh. The chicken fried rice was very good. Our son had the bulgogi and raved about it after eating every last drop. Thank you for a really good experience.

I've been coming to this spot for a while and it's only gotten better since the new owners took over. It has a light and welcoming ambiance and the service is great. The food always tastes fresh and delicious with generous portions and rolls packed with fish. The value is even better now in my opinion. This is my go-to spot for sushi. Highly recommend

Absolutely delicious! Staff is super friendly and attentive. Prices are great. Everything we ordered was fresh, the presentation was beautiful and it was all delicious. We will be back soon.

I recently enjoyed a Bulgogi Lunch Bento with sushi, and it was fantastic! The tender, perfectly marinated bulgogi had a delightful balance of sweet and savory flavors. The bento also included a crisp salad with amazing dressing that complemented the main dishes well. Generously portioned and beautifully presented, this bento offers excellent value and flavor. I'll definitely be ordering it again! :)

STRAIGHT DIARRHEA.First off, the service was great. The server and chef were super friendly.Second, the one star rating... It's for the food. Maybe it's just because I'm used to more higher end quality sushi... but this food gave me and my partner diarrhea as soon as we got home. It was bad. Real bad.In terms of the sushi flavor, over salted.Squid nigiri was a weird consistency. The rice was definitely not cooked correctly. I had a slice of lemon on one of the rolls that was so bitter I had to spit out the roll.But the spicy garlic edamame was good.

Been having this place bookmarked for awhile now and haven't been able to try until recently since it's rare I head out anywhere east. We went a few nights ago during their 50% off promo where the entire bill was discounted. It was a perfect time to try the place out and make the drive. The servers were all really friendly. I found out they are in conjunction with Sushi Factory which has been my new fave AYCE sushi spot. Their menu items are relatively similar but Sushi Factory doesn't have doesn't have my favorite mackerel nigiri. All the items ordered were delicious. I liked almost everything I ordered which was sooo much foods except for their shrimp yaki udon. The flavor just wasn't there for that. Would definitely be back if I were in the area.

Sushi is still as good as the first time !! Service is still very good and the ambiance is nice ! I'll continue keeping this place as my number one place because not only good food but affordable

Nice local spot that's been a fixture in el cajon for years. I had the avocado roll and vegetable tempura roll. The avocado was fresh and delicious. The vegetable tempura was filled with lots of different veggies like carrot and broccoli and was very satisfying. I had a few leftovers and ate them the next day, and they held up pretty well.They have a few vegetarian options so I'd be curious to come back and try more
