Valerio's Mexican Food

Today was astoundingly the complete opposite from any prior visit I've had here. I ordered a bean, cheese and rice (BCR) burrito. This burrito was $11.78! When I asked why, he said it was HUGE! There was a smaller burrito for about $1 less he offered. The regular sized one that started my order was $8 something. Why is it $3 to add rice to my burrito? Is this an 8oz side of rice? Also, out of curiosity, I asked how much a carne Asada burrito was. $10.38. I could've had a carne asada for less than BCR? I would be charged less ordering a BCR Through Uber Eats even with their price markups. At other shops in the same vicinity, a BCR will cost $5-8 at most. Even if I added sour cream, I've not paid more than $10 ever! What's worse, this burrito is a pretty standard sized burrito. Nothing HUGE about it. I got got, man. Something seems extremely wrong here. I have ordered their party trays multiple times in the past. They are decent prices and perfect for family gatherings and events. Food is good, my parents prefer them so we use them! Amazing set up and the gal who's been there to help me is amazing, helpful and well deserves the $20 tip I leave them! I can't remember her name but will try to edit if I find out. I would be shocked if it were the same girl who has awful reviews here. She is always so nice and patient with me as well as my parents. The three stars is average for that amazing service, party tray they offer and fair costs, 5 stars across the boards for those trips. Today was definitely a 1-2 star visit. Sticking to party trays from here on out unless I haven't been made aware of a new price increase on those too!

Took my wife the other night on the way home to get some food you have to believe the one star reviews cuz they are very true. Guacamole chips, and a couple shredded beef tacos. Absolutely zero flavor with the tacos, and the guacamole was pretty disgusting with the chips we ended up throwing almost all the chips out. Had to put salt on the tacos to try to pull any flavor at all once we got home won't go back

Went to grab a plate of carne asada fries, all the fries were crispy, fried at perfection and the meat and cheese on top was awesome. The service was great and ambience was good as well! I picked this up around 12:10am late night snack

I decided to give them another shot a few years later. Assuming the lady with the stank attitude can't possibly work here still. She's probably being miserable somewhere else, anyways here I am trying to support them once AGAIN I was going to get 2 bean and cheese burritos, 6.50 is the most I'm willing to pay for a bean & cheese and that's EXPENSIVE but I mean what isn't these days right ? Im telling you when I saw their price of the bean & cheese I was appalled! $8.19? After tax $9 for a BEAN AND CHEESE BURRITO ? How greedy can you be compare them to the burritos with meat! Make it make sense..... not just because you can means you should valerios you should be ashamed. Went down the street to silvas and paid $11.98 after tax for 2 bean and cheese Burritos, learn a thing or 2 from them. You're ridiculous

I stopped by this place earlier to pick up lunch which was 4 orders of 5 rolled tacos that come with cheese and guacamole and I asked for sour cream on all 4 orders. It costed me $44 and some change which was $29.96 for the rolled tacos with cheese and guacamole and they charged me $10.76 for a squirt of sour cream on each.Totally tasteless food and the little bit of lettuce on the side that they added was old, turning brown and none of these orders were delicious in any way shape or form!I hope this place closes down honestly. The guy at the window was ho-hum with an attitude.I will never return again!

I believe that I have been getting over charged for an order of their guacamole. My normal order is half order of French fries with guacamole and cheese. Today I wanted a side of guacamole for later to have with some fijitas I was making. Of course not getting a receipt and not noticing that I was charged 16.22 for my normal order usually costing close to maybe $9 but what $7 for this small size of guacamole really? Even though on the menu board says $1.99 or maybe $2.99 now. I'm not sure but seems wrong.

Ummmmm, aren't cheese enchiladas supposed to have melted cheese inside? Like cooked with fire or heat of some sort?These enchiladas are cold af, as you can tell by this photo

Food is good. A bit greasy but delicious. It is a miss from time to time but all in all good and I keep coming back. The chicken chimichanga is very yummy!

The food used to be good years ago not sure what happened. Last week we ordered five breakfast burritos three with bacon two with ham. The potatoes, ham and bacon looked like scraps left over from the day before. Very disappointed and it was almost $60. We are never going back again.

Used to be great, now the food is subpar. There's so many amazing Taco shops in San Diego we've started going other places because Valerio's prices have become so steep. I understand inflation, but they're overpriced even compared to surrounding shops. Bummed because we used to love this spot. Albert's is worth the drive and non drive thru for the service and food. Go there instead!
