Come for Wednesday trivia - what a great host and spot. Lots of beers of various varieties in tap. I'm not a beer drinker but they had a great strawberry seltzer. Thorn doesn't sell food, but you can bring your own and we saw tables with pizza and chipotle. Dog friendly, ski ball machines, indoor and outdoor seating. Order drinks at the bar. Our table was super sticky, and so was the bar which was a big of a turn off. Lots of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Stopped by here after HH Oyster Monday at Ft. Oak down the sidewalk.I'm not a fan of beer, but my friend is, so we checked it out. Beer of choice: Oatmeal Stout. Verdict: it was good. I didn't check out the menu so I can't comment on variety or price, but the place seems chill with a couch and bar seating. They even have a small gaming section near the lounge area. Neat! Totally hip place to relax, unwind and enjoy a cold one or two. Patio seating is also available. To note: if you need to use the restrooms, you have to ask for the code and walk out the doors to the right and around the corner.I'd be down to hang out here again with some beer loving friends for sure! Check it out!!

One of my new favorite breweries and Alicia is a big reason why: best-ever super-friendly service! A great vibe and a great place to bring your Bronx Pizza to-go or pre-game before taking the stage at The Lamplighter. Very dog-friendly. Parking is not great- allow extra time. Three distinct seating areas, with just the right amount of cozy indoor space with some video games and multiple new seating options, outdoor patio and a COVID street patio. Really enjoyed my Brody's X IPA. Didn't care for Hopster Pot, but I should have noticed it was wheat-based. Look forward to my next trip!

We threw a surpise birthday party for my husband here at Thorn Brewing. Morgan at Thorn helped me reserve half the venue for the party, we were able to bring in our own food/cake and with about 15 adults we hit the minimum for a beer tab during the 4 hrs we were there. I would recommend this place for a small party/get together. Good beer and great service!

Absolutely stoked to have a brewery here in mission hills! Came by for the first time tonight and enjoyed my flight- the beers were nice and cold, the atmosphere was relaxed, and of course everything was spanning clean and brand new. The beer tender was a nice guy- helpful but not overbearing which while that sounds strange was refreshing. Good tunes playing too. Definitely a place that I can see myself flexing and hanging out more in the future. Why not 5 stars? Food. I need food! Haha. There are lots of restaurants in the area, but the price points don't coincide with the beer and taproom atmosphere. Would love a taco stand, food truck, anything that could compliment the beer and vibe! Thanks for having us and we will be back!!

This newer Thorn Brewing is situated next to Fort Oak in the area of Mission Hills. I was looking forward to trying food as I saw a menu on the yelp photos, but apparently they don't have food anymore, but all good beer is where it's at anyway. It is very spacious with a nice interior set-up with three spots of skee-ball which is different and cool, nostalgic of arcade games! There is also a nice little outdoor set-up here, where we opted to enjoy the beers at. I tried 3 beers with the West Coast style, Relay IPA- being one of my faves: yum flavor and hops! The worker here was nice, and I definitely look forward to returning back here!

Thorn Brewing knows how to do tasting rooms. And their latest one, in Mission Hills, is the best of the their three locations.Located just off the corner on a side street, the Mission Hills tasting room is a large, airy space on the ground floor of an office complex that looks more like a house. It is informally divided into four spaces, each with their own charms. There's a back area with a couch, a tabletop video game mounted in a barrel, skeeball and a pinball table; the large U-shaped bar; a seating area with tables and booths; and the partly-covered patio. With windows and doors on two sides, east and south, and with a neighboring building providing partial shade on the south side, there is plenty of light and air but little risk of sunburn. The vibe is relaxed and friendly. Even in the middle of the day in the middle of their first week of business, the location was busy. The local business community seems to have embraced them already. Proximity to North Park will also increase traffic here. The only difficult bit is parking. There is metered street parking, but not much. Lyft is probably your best bet anyway.Thorn has built up a significant following and has a lot of popular beers. At this location they have twelve taps. Due to a much-busier-than-anticipated opening weekend, when I was there a couple of kegs had kicked and had no backups. That's a nice problem for a brewery to have, and I'm sure they will figure out supply chain quickly. The beer menu was a bit unbalanced because of this, however, and I had a hard time finding a beer I really wanted, in part because a lot of the offerings on the board were quite high ABV (7.5-10%), which is not what I was in the mood for. I ended up ordering a pale ale and an oatmeal stout. I liked them both, but the stout was better. Thorn makes a lot of different kinds of beer, and they are normally good to very good. I'm especially a fan of their British-style ales (they even have a mild, though it wasn't available on the day I visited) and of their Relay IPA.The original North Park location, Thorn Street Brewing, is still great, and the Thorn Brewing production facility and tasting room in Barrio Logan is popular, too.

Moved to the area recently and this is a quick walk from our house! Its a nice little brewery with inside and outdoor seating. The bartender was awesome! Beer was average. A cute spot for a casual beer or a lil date night. Also they dont serve food but you can bring your own!
