The Neighborhood Cafe

Awesome little cafe, big parking lot but with all the businesses it can get packed.They have a decent sized menu with equally decent prices. The service here is always very friendly and attentive. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty of seating.Food comes out quick and everything is fresh. We have been coming here for years since pre covid so the menu has changed. However, the food is still just as delicious. The chicken adobo is always a hit. I also recommend the spicy chicken sandwich and the Vietnamese coffee. You can never go wrong with the loco moco either, huge portions.

Good food, great service, nice peeps, great mission. So affordable. Where else can you get a tasty lunch for two under $20?!? I had a veggie sandwich combo and my friend had Thai chicken with rice. Both great. Cheerful space too. Go here! I'll be back!

Hands down! My favorite place to come visit. There are a lot of great things about it!1. Location: In the middle of City Heights and there is a parking lot with LOTS of parking. It's a small space but not too difficult to spot2. Food: IS DELICIOUS. I get try to different foods from all different cultures. My favorite is the Loco Moco and Thai Chicken Salad, HOWEVER, I almost ALWAYS come here and order the Bev's Shake 3. Price: AMAZING! For the portion size and the types of food I am getting, totally worth it4. Service: The staff and the serve are amazing and sweet. The amazing thing is that it hires teens from the neighborhood to teach them skills/earn income at the same time. I love the mission of UPAC and what this little cafe represents. Sometimes, I come and just sit to look at the mural and how it encompasses the values of City Heights is through the diversity.

I absolutely adore this cafe and try to visit weekly to show my support. The staff is always attentive and helpful. Parking can be a little tricky depending on what time you arrive as there are quite a few businesses in this plaza (it is on the other side of Vien Dong). I am a little sad that the menu has changed throughout the years and most of all they aren't open on weekends anymore. However, it's for a great cause as they host a food pantry on the weekend now. The food is always delicious and at a decent price. We love the Vietnamese coffee and the lychee slushy. They also serve different pastries which are very tasty. 10/10 recommended!

Met a friend here at this coffee on mid morning week day. It was super relaxed since it was the middle of the day and not busy at all which was what I expected. If you are someone who loves aesthetically pleasing coffee shops, this one isn't really that sort of vibe. It's kind of more of your hole in the wall type place but def worth checking out. I got the Vietnamese coffee and lumpia for my daughter. The coffee was surprisingly thick, I have never had a Vietnamese coffee thick before and the sweetness was strong but I really enjoyed it. The lumpia was alright, but still good. Bathrooms are available and parking is not bad. For parents, there is no high chair options for while you are sitting at tables. The staff were really friendly and kind, and I wouldn't mind coming here again to try other drinks or food items. The prices weren't bad either!! Work checking out if you are in city heights. (:

I wanna preface this by saying that I hate writing bad reviews. The service could be better. I got the overall vibe that I'm not welcomed here. A male employee in the back wearing a red apron was staring at me like I just insulted his mom in the worst possible way:The food is yummy. I got a loco moco and lumpia. There is a girl by the name of Kay (that's what it said on my receipt) and she seemed like she didn't wanna be at work. Someone kept calling to her and one of her coworkers to let her know that I was waiting.

Food and drinks 10/10 we got mole fries and small breakfast burrito ! Super affordable, and your money goes to a good cause. Staff is friendly place looks clean and well taken care of!

My wife's co-workers dine here for lunch every now and again and I join them sometimes. This cafe is hands down the best deal in town! The fresh food they prepare, the portions they give, the service you receive, and the reasonable prices you pay is unmatched anywhere else in the city. I almost don't want to let the secret out of the bag, for fear that this spot will get so popular, we won't be able to get a table in due time. Seriously, I ordered their Moco Loco (their version of Hawaii's traditional Loco Moco) and essentially the same thing--Eggs over easy, hamburger patty, and gravy served over a generous portion of rice. It was delicious! The hamburger patty was tender, cooked medium-medium well, served with a perfectly cooked egg over easy, and the gravy was very savory, complimenting the entire dish. It was the first time ordering it, but not the last time I'll order it. I also ordered a hot Earl Grey black tea which was very good and made upon ordering. Service was excellent! They not only accept credit cards, but accept AMEX as well (something not all businesses accept due to the high rate charged to the merchants). Restrooms are clean, parking is plentiful, dining room was well kept. The dining room only holds 12-13 people, and that I would say is the ONLY negative; BUT I've never dined here where we haven't been able to be seated. If you're ever in the City Heights/Mid-City area of town, I'd give TNC a try... You'll be pleasantly surprised!

the smoothies are so good and so is the lumpia! it's an air conditioned space with free wifi, lots of seating and great bathroom. i studied here and had a great time.
