What a great restaurant at the Bernardo Winery. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends for lunch before walking around the cute winery and do some shopping in the boutiques on site. There are lots of outdoor tables to choose from and most are shaded. It opens at 11am and it was busy soon after. We went on a weekday too. You can get wines from the tasting room or delicious coffee from Manzanita next door. You order from the counter and your food will be delivered to your table. Everything we had was delicious though the pizza was a little on the burnt side from the wood fired oven.

My first time here and I loved it! it feels like you're on vacation with your friends, having great wine, yummy food, and good vibes all around. My friends and I ordered a bunch of different plates and we loved everything. But the ciabatta board and mozzarella bruschetta were my favorite. Can't wait to come back!

They don't take reservations unless you're a really large party. You order and pay before sitting down with a number and they bring you the food. You have to go to a different area right around the corner to order alcohol and you can bring it back to your table. I ordered the vodka sauce & rigatoni, salume pizza, and Ciabatta bread with house-made jam, agave butter, burrata, and garlic roasted tomato. My girlfriends and I shared all the food and we were very pleased. It all tasted great! The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. It's in a winery that has cute little shops around. We ate and drank sangria at the Kitchen then walked around to the little shops all around.

I was here last week, but noticed there was a restaurant inside. Came back with some family and enjoyed some quality time with them. You order inside and you get to choose where you want to sit. The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. The rigatoni I ordered was flavorful, yummy and the outdoor seating is super cute. Can't wait to come back and try more of their wine, more food and make a stop at their gelato shop! Good place for a date night or a fun girls day.

There's something really special about the Kitchen and the entire Bernardo Winery. I love visiting here; it has a lovely rustic atmosphere. The Kitchen serves delicious handmade pasta, and although I didn't get to take a photo, because I was hungry they seriously make the yummiest pizza! I got the Salume, and it was fantastic--fluffy, perfectly chewy, nicely toasted, and so flavorful. I shared it with my friend, and we also ordered the Vodka Sauce & Rigatoni handmade pasta. Sooo good! The staff at the Kitchen are accommodating and cheerful. They don't serve alcohol in the restaurant, but it can be ordered at their wine bar building, situated right next door, and you can bring your alcoholic beverages to the Kitchen. My girlfriends and I got the red sangria, and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend stopping by to experience it for yourself; it's a slice of heaven!

It is always summer at the Rancho Bernardo winery, so beautiful and always pleasant. So when I have visitors from abroad I always suggest going there. The Kitchen is new to me and attractive to them since they wanted to share pizzas. I like how you can bring your own picnic gear and no one bothers you for creating your own magic. However, I miss whatever restaurant was there before with more food choices and I don't remember you paying first and then you are served at the table. Nice location and lots of customers but too high prices for what it is.

This was my first time at Bernardo winery and I was not disappointed. I was expecting the food to be pretty basic since there's not really other dinner options on the property, but I will definitely be coming back for the food. The fresh pizza had a soft crust and the homemade pasta had such a satisfying bite. I appreciated that it was a true carbonara with no heavy cream so I could just enjoy texture and flavor of it all. You could get a bottle of wine or glass at the tasting room and it overall is a great ambiance.

Food and service is amazing, the best caprese sandwich I've ever had. The pizza did not disappoint either, so good. The ambiance is great, everyone is so friendly there.

Finally made it here. :)The restaurant currently only have tables outside. Not really an issue as you can people watch and enjoy the beautiful days and fresh air.Friendly service and really good food.We went there for lunch and shared a cheese and meat board that was surprisingly very filling. Then we had the pear and Gorgonzola pizza which it was outstanding. All enjoyed with a bottle of their Syrah.Super nice afternoon. We enjoyed a great atmosphere and amazing delicious food. :)

Excellent service staff every time and of course a beautiful environment, but the food is mediocre at best. When the food is viewed in light of a) the high prices, and b) the high prices which are unchanged since this restaurant switched to ordering at the counter, versus table service, then "mediocre" starts to feel overly generous. As I thought about the many restaurants with better food, the same or better prices, and actual table service, staring at the flimsy plastic cup which I dispensed my own water into just added insult to injury. The farmer's market salad was truly flavorless, with sad looking wisps of arugula and nearly colorless, tiny cherry tomatoes. I am not one to desire a puddle of rich dressing, but it really seemed there was none of any kind, on this salad. The salume pizza was also disappointing. The meagre droppings of scarcely any cheese were on top of the large pieces of salami, rather than underneath. This does not seem noteworthy, but the abundance of sauce and oil drizzled on top, paired with the absence of cheese, caused the toppings to slide right off the slice of pizza. This disappointment was complemented by one or two emaciated slices of unremarkable crimini mushrooms, maybe to remind one there is supposedly truffle oil on the pizza. The arancini were a favorite of mine a couple of years ago, but more recently have grown in circumference while shrinking in contents--a thick, gluelike layer of risotto is filled with maybe a couple of teaspoons of meat. Another disappointment from the practically baseball sized, former treat. Again, the employees of the Kitchen are professional and kind and do an excellent job. The food, however, seems to have declined steeply compared to years past.
