If you don't like The Dog, you've got problems.A great chill beer bar at the beach. Unpretentious with a great selection of brews. The bathroom is dirty but there's a jukebox and if you buy a shirt and wear it around town it's a surefire way to make new friends. Oh yeah - it's cheap too!

I love the dog! The bartenders are personable and knowledgeable, and it's a great chill spot in Pacific Beach away from sloppy drunk people i've encountered at other bars.

The Dog! First time I've ever been, although I have walked past it many a time over the last 8 years. What a cute little bar! They only have beer, however it's craft styled and amazing. The people are down to earth and kind. Antonio took great care of us. Cheers everyone!

Gr8 place for pool, sports, beer. There is an occasional blacked out drunk that wanders in harassing your girls but its expected since PB. It really helps at learning/practicing how to diffuse situations. Pop in, you'll enjoy it!!

Chill, inexpensive and kind bartenders. they care about their customers and respect you as a human being. Best happy hour, free pool and the best local spot you can find. Love the Dog!

I wish 0 stars was a option. Local hipsters were rude, gave us no room to play pool, one of the guys tried to grind his junk on my husband to make him intentionally uncomfortable, and got into my husbands face. Luckily we chose the high road and left, but will never recommend or go here again if that's how the locals treat visitors.

I finally had the chance to check out this bar. I used one night to get a away for a few hours on a Saturday Night so I took my dog to Pacific Beach and we went for a walk around PB and I look up and see it's the bar I've been wanting to check out. They are also dog friendly so my dog Calli and I went inside. Pretty neat set up good vibes all around. Friendly crowd and good drinks. They staff were very kinda. They offered Calli a doggy bowl with water and brought it out to her. They doubled check to see if she needed anything else which was amazing and it was busy. They served Calli and I with excellent customer service. They have Pool here as well so if you want to play pool in a friendly chill bar this is your place. A lot of bars are really neat in Pacific Beach but seems to be very few with friendly crowds. I enjoyed it and plan to return if I get the chance. Thanks guys for being awesome. I enjoyed it and so did Calli. Way to make our first experience at The Dog unforgettable. I rave about it to a lot of my clients who come to town for business looking for a nice bar to attend while visiting.

Came here with a friend a while back to grab a beer during happy hour. Pretty chill environment and they have free pool! You just gotta put your name on the board. Good selections of beers.

Was just here on a Saturday. I almost don't want to give it a good review because I don't want more people to go. I'm sure the locals don't either.... so, here's a short review.Cheap beer.Good people.Pool.That's it. Not pretentiously divey, not PBDB filled. It's a normal bar for normal people. If you want to grind up on a college junior, the Tavern is across the street. Go there.

Had a decent time. I believe it was the bartender "tanner" who kicked my friend out for being "disrespectful" simply after her pulled out his passport after laughing at his ID for a simple beer. Interesting vibe and it's clear there is a certain crowd they will serve well to, and new people are not welcome.
