We were in the area and decided to try this place out.We did see it got pretty good reviews on Yelp.We found out from the owner they have been open for close to 30 years!The inside decor is ok, there are some booths you can sit in but I don't recall any decorations or anything on the walls that I remember. I think this place is all about the food, no need for anything else.Our order:1. Samosas- stuffed with potato and green peas. I think these were flavored well, but the outside seemed a bit over fried and too hard. 3/52. Chicken Tikka masala- Probably the favorite thing we had. The sauce was delicious, the chicken was not too bad, we knew it was Tandoori chicken which tends to be white meat which can be dry. Not bad with the sauce, would have preferred more pieces for the price. 4/53. Vegetable Pakoras- These also were seasoned well, I thought a bit overdone like the Samosas. 3.5/54. Palek Paneer- This was ok, definitely not the best Palek that we've had. I think it lacked seasoning, just tasted salty. We preferred more Paneer and spinach seemed old.I would not order this dish again. 2/55. Breads- The tandoori Chicken came with Naan as well as the Palek Paneer, but we ordered different breads to try. We got Onion Kulcha and Aloo Paratha, both of them were pretty good, but the onion Kulcha was far better. I think if I came again, I would order the Chicken Tikka Masala, Onion Kulcha and Aloo Paratha.We thought the owner was super friendly, the food came out insanely quickly for how much was ordered.I think if you are in a pinch and want to get some Indian food, this place is an option.I think what might draw people to this place is the price and service.Service: 5/5Ambiance: 3/5Food: 3/5

I love coming here for a special meal!I love Tandoor and have been coming here since before the pandemic. I was so happy that they opened as soon as possible after the restrictions were lifted, and I also visited them during that time.The family of employees here are always lovely and hospitable, and the food is so tasty and plentiful. You always get a LOT of food!I'm a vegetarian and always order the same thing, Palek Paneer, and occasionally add the vegetable samosas, and they're great!I always feel special because before I leave, the owner usually gives me a small cup of tea; it's such a lovely and yummy touch!I recommend Tandoor; they're fantastic!

Hole in the wall Indian restaurant with good food. I stumbled on it accidentally and was looking for unique food choices, and found it. Select from vegan vegetarian or conventional meals. The owner and staff will adjust the spice level of each meal to your liking! Each dish comes with naan bread serving. The only down side is that all dishes are served in to-go packages even if you eat there...

Hole in the wall restaurant with good Indian food! I had the eggplant dish, chickpeas dish and vegetable samosas all of which were very good. The downfall was when the server brought us our plastic utensils he was not holding them by the handles but by the head of them! Of course I threw them away and got my own.

Cheap and tasty. Great veg options and super good chai tea. Mild options that are mild!

This place is really good! Very authentic Indian food with very warm and inviting service. Every time I eat here it feels like I went to someone's house and they made food for me. It is very, very good. Any of the curries are so good, the naan is delicious, and the vegetable samosas are super good too. The prices are really reasonable. I got a combo plate and two samosas for $10. Highly recommend!

Whoaaaa. Have you ever been at a loss for lunch spots and just took a gamble? I did just that wth a coworker. After noticing the amount of people coming out of Tandoor around lunch time, we decided it was time to step out of our comfort zone and try it. I'll be honest, I've never really had Indian food.. I've always seen Masala at the store and I've always heard good things. So after reading a few reviews from fellow Yelpers, I decided to give the Chicken Tikka Masala a try.. I also decided to top my lunch off with some of their Garlic Naan. I'm so glad to have made both decisions. The Chicken Tikka Masala was soooo amazing. I'm not sure what it's supposed to taste like, but I image this is what good tikka masala is. It was packed with flavor and the portion was hugeeee. Much worth the price - which is hard to come by these days. The Basamati rice was perfect.. not mushy at all. The lentils tasted just as good. I can't believe I slept on Indian food this long. I could eat this every day. Broooo the garlic naan... I could buy two and just snack on it all day. I completely and highly suggest trying it if you're thinking about it. The garlic wasn't burnt, perfectly browned and packed with garlicky goodness. My only issue, because I'm a weirdo... is the texture of the chicken. It was packed with fat and tendons or cartilage.. and I honestly couldn't handle that. But I pushed through since it was worth it. I know everyone has their own preferences, so I didn't knock the texture considering that's my own. Now if only I could decipher the entrees so I knew what to get next time. I'd love to try everything if this Tikka Masala was this good.

Long day of work and don't feel like cooking? Don't want to break your budget to have a delicious meal? This is your answer. if you're in this plaza and you eat anywhere besides Tandoor, then you're making a mistake. The quality, price point, and friendliness of the staff make this one of my favorite places to eat in San Diego. I recommend this place to everyone who lives within 15 minutes of mission valley and they've never been disappointed. Couldn't be happier to have stumbled into this place over a year ago. Do yourself a favor and get a combo for lunch and spread the word!

The food is just so delicious and underrated! The pictures on the menu don't do the meals justice. A bit pricy but for homemade Indian food, this is VERY worth it. The service here is great. It is family owned and they are the sweetest people! I recommend the chicken tikka masala with garlic naan bread. Warning, after having home cooked Indian food, you never wanna go back to a chain business that serves it. This will be my home for the rest of vacation. I will come back to California and I will drive back to this place as my first of many visits.
