Tacos Tumbras

I saw the sign for 99 cent fish tacos and I couldn't resist. The truck I usually go to is $1.25 per taco, so I appreciated the discount. It wasn't quite as good, and not as close to my house, so I'll probably stick with that one. But hey, for a buck, Tacos Tumbras was fine. I'll have to come back when I'm in the area and try more from their menu!

Amazing street tacos, some of the best I've ever had. Tried the asada (very simple and straightforward) and the grilled fish (much more complex and messy than the asada). Both were delicious. Fast, friendly, flavorful. Not in the nicest area but completely worth it. The fish taco was really messy but in a good way.

Somehow food trucks have gotten trendy and now most of them seem to charge more than restaurants. It drives me crazy. But this is a "real" truck with good, cheap food. The menu is Spanish only, but if you ask you'll get a nice English explanation of anything you don't recognize.I hate places that don't list prices, so here's what I know: there are a couple of taco varieties that are $1.25 on Tuesdays, and fish tacos are always that price. The others seem to run under $2. You can have a good meal for under $5.Those fish tacos are basic but lovely, and the salsa bar is great. If the limes aren't out, just ask.

Best fish tacos ever ! I live in florida now but every time I visit Cali, I make it a point to get 2/3 fish tacos before I leave. Im born and raised in So Cal with family in Texas so ive had a ton of tacos in my short 22 years but these are my absolute favorite. They were recommended by my ex boyfriend, and while he wasnt the one for me, he sure did have good taste in tacos.

Not the best. I've had better tacos just down the street. Plus their hours of operation are always inconsistent.

Not the best fast tacos in the area. It seems like most of the reviews on yelp are from years ago. It's a run-down looking truck in a liquor store parking lot at a busy intersection, with dirty tables and mediocre tacos. The service was friendly and quick.

I been looking all over San Diego for TJ street tacos, and yes, I know, everyone has their own favorite little spot, but this taco truck is Legit with a capital "L". They got everything you would ever want, lengua, pastor, asada, pollo, tripas, cabeza, chorizo, carnitas.... just too many to list...It's not your fancy shmancy typical North Park joint. This is for gente that want real food with real flavor without paying an eye for a taco.... they got a Monday special. 15 tacos for 16.99, and of course, as any self respecting taco joint would have, they got taco Tuesdays. 99cent tacos all day. Go check 'em out. They park right next to a liquor store so you can pick up a few brews to wash down the tacos.

$.99 tacos still do exist! This place was pretty legit. TJ style tacos. Super cool dudes who run the truck. Great food for the price.

This taco truck is legit! It's TJ style deliciousness. I go here all the time because they're right next to my house. The tacos are consistently hot and delicious. The service is great as well. Their tripa and al pastor tacos are seriously the best I've ever had. The carne asada tacos are good too. I give them 2 enthusiastic thumbs up!

can't go wrong with grilled whole carne asada then hand chopped for tj style street tacos. even with the carbon the carne was just okay but their pollo asada was better. their al pastor was also good which I didn't see the vertical spit but was super flavorful on its own.if you can't make it to tacos el gordo, tacos tumbras is a good alternative with certain tacos.
