Food was GREAT for a quick bite to eat. Especially the tortillas which were spot on. Definitely would come back and enjoy a taco or burrito.

Every turn of the handle results in a perfect fresh corn tortilla designed to make your taste buds water. Great place to get amazing tacos. Especially late at night. (And even some "not a taco" for those of you looking for something different.) I especially love the salsa bar where you can get a chance to mix and match to excite your mouth!Just off Island and Fifth, it's a great place to pop by and grab a bite to eat at a reasonable rate.

after me reaching out to toast (the online ordering platform this place uses) and opening a ticket, i was able to get my refund. the owner did reach out through my original review to explain what was going on . i do appreciate the follow up and accountability of the problem, the overall experience was unpleasant but i understand these rare one offs can and do happen.back to the good stuff -- .. the chilaquiles are quite the sleeper item on this menu though, be sure to add carne asada and it will be a whole breakfast .. you can see the staff make the tortillas and do their magic through the visible kitchen area , which is fun to check out. there is a wide range of salsas to choose from too .. location is very popular during happy hour, cheers!

This spot is setup real well, especially being where all the gaslamp SDCC shenanigans are during the con week. They have ample seating, outdoor seating, a good order system, good PA system to call your number for your order and a sauce and salsa bar etc.Fountain drinks, bottled sodas, ginger beers and beer! The service was good we have no issues with that servers were nice order at the counter and come pickup your food. The staff were nice. Now to the menu, there is an inflated pricing menu for comic con. I get it make your living it's a business capitalizing on the busy con week, no issues there and glad to support! Now the issue we had was the tacos took a bit to make, it wasn't crazy busy during the time we stopped by (between lunch and dinner) mid afternoon. We opted for some items but were told it's not on the convention menu, but had signage on the walls at the register. Okay no problem. Got the tacos 3 for 20 bucks (if paid cash a bit more if credit) The tacos came out and were cold the meats each one was cold, the chicken had a weird aftertaste to it not sure what seasoning it was.The other two were a bit better in sense of taste being beef and pork but also equally cold. Maybe just a misfire or put together using meats cooked earlier. Not sure but was a bit disappointed in that regard. Ended up going up the block and buying 8 tacos for 30 and being happy as a clam after back at the telly.Cheers. And have a good con week!

I am here for Comic Con this week & the outside of Taco Centro kept catching my eye so we decided to give it a try today. First thing we noticed: They jacked up the prices for the convention, almost $2 more than their typical taco pricing (3 for $18). They don't offer carnitas this week I am guessing because we saw they had a sign with new carnitas items on the menu for ~$4 for taco and ~$12 for carnitas burrito and the worker said they don't have it. They also jacked up the prices for the burritos, comic con menu price being $17.50 when it seems like normally a burrito ranges from $13.50 to ~$15. We decided that since we were already there, we might as well get 3 tacos to try. We tried the al pastor, carne asada, & one pollo. It took a while the tacos the be ready. It was probably almost 20 minutes, which is unlike our experiences at the other taco joints in the area. Finally, the tacos were ready and we loaded up on the sauces from the sauce bar, as well as limes. I tried the chicken first, and it was actually terrible. Overcooked, bland, and cold. Then we tried the two other tacos... also overcooked, bland, cold, AND overpriced. The tacos took a very long time to be ready and I don't really understand why because the tacos were cold & it was not that busy in there. Definitely just a tourist trap & will not be coming here in the future.

BEST TACOOS EVER!!! These tacos beat the ones at home. We came here twice. We got the flour tacos with carne asada and al pastor with cheese! The tacos are huge, meat inside is super juicy, flavorful, and seasoned well. They have a salsa bar with so many to choose from. Our go to was the green salsa, cilantro lime, chipotle salsa, and the house salsa. Be careful because some of the sides can be very spicy if you're sensitive to spice. They have outdoor and in door seating. It seems like people eat quick here so easy to find a seat. It can get really pricey but it's worth it.

I ordered the Al Pastor burrito and it was packed with flavorful pork, pineapple, and more. There's a sauce bar that offers a wide selection of sauces and salsas with varying spice levels. The prices are more than usual for a Mexican restaurants, but it was convenient to go to late at night after a long day at Comic Con. There's indoor and outdoor seating and the food was ready fairly quickly.

We've walked by this place many times and hadn't stopped. Walked in for lunch today and there were quite a few people sitting inside and outside. Service was fast - we got our food in 5 minutes or so. Specifically the tacos which came out quick. We were pleasantly surprised with this place! I got three tacos - carne asada, al pastor & spicy shrimp. All three were packed with fillings, well seasoned and juicy. I love that they're street tacos style but dressed up. The flavor profiles remind me a little of Puesto. Would definitely stop by here if you're visiting from out of town and are looking for tacos close to 5th or the convention center!

Great homemade corn tortilla tacos. Deliciously tender pork, can't give it 5 stars because the price of one small taco was $5 . Down town I could get 4 tacos for $5 but regardless of the city price I really enjoyed this spotThey have a great selection of beer on tap and their menu is extensive. The food came out hot and quick and their bathroom and restaurant itself was clean.
