Sushi Lounge Encinitas

Love this place, just did a quick take out and have eaten here many times. I love this place. It is very clean and ambient and quiet. Come on a week day for outstanding service. Kristina, was so friendly and told me about the loyalty program so I signed up. I'll be coming back much more often. My favorites are Chuck Norris (spicy) and the rainbow (all kinds of fish). Try the rice cakes for something different. The yellow tail collar is AMAZING! Cheers!

This was one of the most disappointing sushi experiences we've had in awhile. We used to go to Poway Sushi Lounge about 8 years ago and it was incredible, but stopped going around 2019 because we noticed a decline in quality and service. We had hoped that Encinitas would be different as we live in the area and have been trying to find a good sushi place for some time but we were severely disappointed tonight. First, when we entered the restaurant the floor in the dining area was filthy. Covered in food, wrapper bits, and crayons that kids had thrown/dropped. The table the majority of the mess was under was empty and remained empty the entire time we were there. No one bothered to clean the mess. It was only about 5:45pm when we arrived, so before the true dinner rush.Second, the service was mediocre at best. We saw our server 3 times total, once to take our drink order, once to order rolls, and the third time to get our check. I had to flag down another server to get a refill on my drink (he was very kind and by far the best server at the time we went but I don't know his name) while our server stood at the sushi bar on his phone.Lastly, our sushi was both overpriced, and warm. My salmon hand roll was room temperature and I only took two bites before I decided not to eat the rest because I could tell it already wasn't sitting right in my stomach. We spent 71$ pre tip for 2 rolls, 2 hand rolls, and 4 Ikura. The ikura were by far the most expensive, which is to be expected, but they were also the only thing that came out cold and not room temperature like it had been sitting out for a long time. We got our food about 10 minutes after we ordered, which isn't a long time. So I don't know if a fridge of theirs isn't working correctly, or what was up with that. I've never received warm sushi from a restaurant before unless it was a cooked roll. I think it's fair to say we will not be returning to Sushi Lounge Encinitas, or any of their other locations.

The service was good. I sat at the bar and Josh had helped me. He was very friendly and very quick and efficient at taking my order. The servers were also good at checking in on me to make sure I was good. Ambience was good. Nice and spacious place that was kept clean. It's a bit dark inside, but not a big deal. I liked how it wasn't very loud and I could spend time reading my book.I had the crispy rice appetizer, which I was surprised was cold. The rice was clearly not fried freshly. I ordered two rolls: happy wife and the Tasmanian. Both excellently made and with good portion size! I would definitely come again, but just would maybe consider trying a different app next time.

Got here early to avoid the crowd. Plenty of parking. The guys here were very attentive. The rolls were delicious. I have a hearty appetite so I could have ordered more lol. The restaurant is super clean I look forward to coming back when I visit the San Diego area again.

I live in Pacific Beach but there is no good sushi around there. I'd definitely drive 20 min to come back here. I just got takeout on my way home but it was so bomb!! The rolls were fresh and they gave me the sauce on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. Would come back here to try every roll on the menu!

Some friends invited me to dine here and they were mortified by how terrible the service was. It took only a few minutes to be sat but 10 for our server to greet us. It was an excellent marker for how our evening was going to be. It took a total of 2 hours and 17 minutes to dine here. While waiting we were watching other tables receiving attentive service from other servers, and we were even able to watch our server (Jose) chat with friends at a table next to us for quite a while. Throughout our people watching, we noticed there were two other tables who also complained to the manager. When he made his round to our table, he offered a free dessert and corrected nothing. We had orders that were forgotten, should be rang in as well as the orders that came incorrectly. Well, I'm sure the manager was overwhelmed. There was nothing happening to correct the situation for anyone, and it ended up being a very long dragged out experience of dissatisfaction. My friends tell me that they've never had such an awful experience. However, I spent enough time there to register more than one. I 100% do not recommend this place while management struggles to maintain a level of service at this establishment.

Came in for a quick bite to eat early Sunday afternoon. There were only 8 customers in the entire restaurant and half already had food. There were also about 8 workers. I ordered 2 simple rolls from the lunch special list. Forty five minutes later I had to find my server to inquire where my food was. Unfortunately the quality of the food was not worth the wait--incredibly sub-par. Don't waste your time or money here.

The sushi here was absolutely phenomenal! I'm a simple pleasure man, I ordered the Philly roll and it was one of the best roll's I've ever had. The rice was nice and sticky, the cream cheese & smoked-salmon portions were generous, and everything about it hit the spot! The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. You could come here with friends & family or bring a date here. It's an all around cool place to eat delicious sushi!

Same old story. Because they have bar none the best sushi around, we put up with their nonsense. Its always something. Tonight it was a late order Had to wait a half hour after other entrees were served. Took them almost an hour to put out a cucumber roll.i. Shouldnt' happen.

I am giving an updated review ! Went today, and again, best quality of fish and sushi! Rob, the Manager, Is always so very lovely, Jessica and Jose are great too, everyone that works there is friendly. Love their maguro, Kama, and all of the rolls! Can't go wrong with your choice of sushi! Fresh fish.. love it here!
