Sushi Freak

Randomly craving a sushi burrito and came across this spot. The workers were kind, patient, and efficient. There's a good selection of sushi burritos or you can build your own. The build-your-own option can get expensive as each protein is $5+. They give you a good amount of protein.The cucumbers on the side were really refreshing. Love that they give you wasabi on the side as well as their sauce (spicy mayo/eel sauce). Everything looks fresh. I'm a fan of the restaurants decorations and marketing.Cute little candy shop at check out.

Best sushi burritos I have ever had!!!I had the Gunshow and Dr Eel good and both were delicious!

Negative stars if I could. I ordered a spicy tuna bowl and notice there was no spicy tuna. Like wtf if I wanted a rice and salad bowl I would have went somewhere else. Never coming back!

I did absolutely love the poke nachos. Such a good combination but probably not very good for you.The beach bum burrito was a miss for me. I felt like it was mainly krab meat with a little rice, avocado, cucumber, mango and shrimp. It tasted okay but just way too much krab meat that overpowered everything else. It was a giant burrito and filling. I need to try one of their rolls to see if that would be better.

This time around the sushi was on point. The Gunshow Burrito was amazing! One of my favorites to get here. The people behind the counter always seem to be friendly. The only challenge and downside is parking at times.

It has been a while since I visited Sushi Freak even though it is located close by one of the gyms where I exercise. The store occupies one of the suites in the Shops at Arrive Mission Valley complex. The inside layout resembles what you see at a poke shop or Subway. The streamlined setup allows customers to view the assembly of an order from start to finish. You can build your own creation or choose from preset combinations.Of the seven sushi burritos on the menu. I chose the Gunshow (seaweed, salmon, tuna, shrimp, krab mix, avocado, cucumber, masago) and the Dr. Eel Good (seaweed, krab mix, freshwater eel, avocado, cucumber, sprouts, tobiko, spring mix). Each burrito had a good size, and the price was on par with what the competitors charge. The Dr. Eel Good had a sweeter flavor profile because of the eel sauce. The Gunshow tasted like a giant California roll which can be good or bad depending if you like that type of maki roll.Being one of the first places to offer a sushi burrito before the proliferation of poke shops in SD, Sushi Freak has a consistent product. It may not be of the highest quality ingredients, but it suffices if you're looking for a fix. I rated my take-out experience with 3.5 stars.

Sushi freak is amazing the only hard part is getting them to answer the phone for big orders. So plan ahead and get your sushi burrito !

Overrated. They don't make your sushi that good and I was on my lunch break, instead of finishing my order, all he had to do was cut my sushi, even though I was next and waiting a long time. He stopped what he was doing to take a long phone order. Just finish my order not stop what you're almost done doing for the customer that was there first and had been waiting in line. They are in such a rush they don't even make it right.

I've been here so many times that I had over 70 stamps combined. Place is great. But tonight the lady with the scrunched face couldn't even fake a smile. All the tables were dirty so I just took it Togo. I asked about the new points system and if I could still bring in my stamp cards and she was so short with me. I'm sorry but valid question. Foood still great tho

Love their sushi burritos, taste of tuna was fresh and service was excellent and friendly
